Yea it's kind of bogus how tech industry continuously pushes new hardware when no one needs it. I been using a 1050ti for last 6yrs (I mostly play indie games) and it performs extremely well at 4K. I recently upgraded from athlon 200ge to r5 4500 for just 70$ and it's the best purchase yet. I think it can go for atleast 3-4yrs more

The ultrawides sit pretty much bang in between 1440p and 4K for frame rates. I’m running a 3070 at ultrwide and it isn’t great. Medium settings on newer games and that’s if it doesn’t vram cap and turn into a slide show

It's not that 3070 is a bad card, just that 1440p ultrawide is not a the ideal use case for it. While it's not necessary for OP to swap it, it's good if he can affor a 7900xtx since that will really bump his peformance.

3080ti are around 12GB Vram, 7900 xtx has twice of it which is good for ultrawide, that consume a lot of VRAM somehow, not to mention the difference on wattage are pretty thin which is 350 vs 355 watts

The 3500X should have double the L3 cache from what I recall, but you do get an extra 4 pcie lanes (24 total) on the 5500 to make room for not only a full x16 gpu and an nvme ssd, but also 4 extra lanes for something like a wifi card, which is nice to have. Additionally, the 5500 is a newer architecture, so probably will play nice with newer games. Old cpu architectures are sometimes less efficient at processing newer games, so between two cpus with roughly the same horsepower, I’d go for the newer one. I would pair the same gpus with either depending on the game. Different games will put more load on either the cpu or gpu, but in general I think you could go up to a 2080ti or RX 6700xt which have 11 and 12gb of vram respectively. Its nice to have over 8gb just to be safe. Additionally, the RX 6700 non xt has 10gb of vram. The RX 7600 is a nice value around $240, but is only 8gb. Personally, if its in your budget, I’d splurge for a used gpu with higher vram rather than a new one with less vram. If your budget for a GPU is $200 or less though, the GTX 1080ti is still equal or better than something like the RX 6600 but with 11gb of vram instead of just 8gb.

the 7600 is almost 3 times as powerful so yes lol the only issue is if your cpu is capable of keeping it fed, since you currently have a 1050 ti which is very old

Yeah they could scale it back a bit though and just get the 7900 XT just because it'll be more than performant enough to do native 1440p at a high framerate (unless you play at 240hz or something crazy like that). Only reason I'd say to go with the 7900 XTX is if you plan on playing at 4k 120hz+.

Depending on your Resolution you're gaming at. As well as budget obviously. 4060 ti is weaker than the 6700 XT(Rasterisation excluding DLSS and FG)and has less VRAM if you decide not to go with the 16 GB model. Your CPU is a powerhouse so you can throw basically everything at it .-.

@@Shanii838 I was going to go with the 16gb version, and the one I was looking at is a $520 USD card, which would be the Asus Proart. My usecase would mostly be Blender, which is why I want to switch to an Nvidia card due to my 6700 XT not being able to use cycles and therefore locking me out of several quality features that even my GTX 970 is able to use. If you could recommend a better Nvidia card that is still a decent price I would be willing to wait a bit longer to be able to afford it.
