Well, stopping training and being immobile due to injuries can be pretty different. If you continue to move around with even small amounts of intensity you are sure to take longer until muscle breakdown. Diet most likely plays a large role as well, if you keep hitting your macros that should extend the time you have.

I broke my hand early this year and did research on how to keep my muscles and heal better and faster and so on... Three things 1. keep on hitting your 1g per lbs bodyweight protein intake 2. stay active, makes you heal faster and 3. you can train one sided, also keeps the other side from muscle loss

@@PatronusHelicewhat do you mean by training one sided? Doing unilateral work or literally just training one side? If so I'd say definitely don't do that, muscle imbalance might lead to more injuries later down to line

As german KZbinr Tim Gabel explained in one of his videos- you can maintain a significant amount of muscle just by doing ~20% of workload. This guy suffered from a very bad back - issue and still maintained a pretty nice physique by that.

Yeah don't get too down if you fall off of training for a bit. I barely trained for 2 months with a shit diet and fully recovered after 2 weeks of training. Needless to say, the best thing to do is to always be consistent, but life happens. If you run into an obstacle, just pick yourself back up and resume where you left off. It isn't the end of the world

It happened to me this summer, i started working as a waiter and stopped working out from may to september due to 12-15 hours shifts. I lost 7 kg of muscle and people told me i looked skinny. Since then ive been training again and i feel better than ever
@agx8447
@agx8447 9 ай бұрын
Generally getting sick will be worse than getting injured because you have less energy and are more sedentary while sick. Injuries typically just restrict movements around the location of the injury, therefore not preventing you from moving even if it just means walking to work or school. And if you just stop the gym but don’t stop moving it’ll take a while before any noticeable change sets in

I gained most of my muscle mass naturally just by my daily activities BEFORE I started training in the gym almost three years ago. Since then I've gained SOME muscle mass, enough to visibly see the difference, but most of it was already there. Just covered in a bit of a fat layer. If I stopped training, I expect that I would retain my mass pretty well since it doesn't come from any creative chemistry.

I stopped training 2years ago and i have not seen a major decline in my physique, added a percent ot two in body fat (to around 10%) and still sport a sixpack Granted sounds like bragging but i just wanted to say that even if you stop training as hard and eat acordingly you shouldnt just lose all progress in 2 months

Yeah, and there's me who loses progress in 1 week of flu. All those KZbin videos motivated me to go to the gym, I thought I would be strong and handsome, well 1 year later I'm still weak (I can barely do 10 pullups and my max bench is only 55kg) and I look the same, the only slight difference being my arms (i look similar to this dude 0:09), but other than that I still look like I haven't touched a dumbbell in my life. Am I doing something wrong? Or it is REALY THAT HARD and takes more than 1 year to look like those people you see on social media?

Don't sweat it man, just keep going. I've been training for 9 months and haven't made visible progress yet, and I couldn't be bothered about it. I'm continually learning, and fixing stuff one step at a time. What I'm sure of is, in a couple more years, I will love my past self for not giving up.

You should be getting a lot stronger in your early years of training, make sure you are getting enough sleep and eating in a surplus, while trying to add a rep or some weight every session

It depends on many different factors. Genetics are important that's for sure some guys can gain muscle way easily, but it doesn't mean even with bad genetics you can't become a unit. You just need to be smart and consistent at what you doing. First I wanna ask a few things. What's your weight, height, and age? Did you gain any weight after 1 year of working out? About not gaining muscle there is probably 2 reasons for that. First not eating enough and not taking enough protein. Second not doing progressively overload while training. Doing high-reps low weight training barely would result in any muscle growth and the growth you would get this way would probably be shifted to sarcoplasmic growth (other stuff in muscle cells that doesn't do the contraction, basically anything other than muscle fibers). Also not eating would directly kill your gains and progress. If you wanna grow eat period. If you eat no matter what you will grow. You should gain weight regardless. If you can't gain muscle you gain fat but you will %100 gain weight. If you can't gain weight it means you are not eating enough. At least eat your (maintenance + 100-200) calories. Your body will adapt to the calories you eat. So you would not gain any significant fat that way. Also, eat at least about 100 g of proteins. Even on off days, it doesn't matter. Ideally, eat about 1g of protein for 1 pound of body weight. This might be too much for a fat guy like 300 pounds but for you, it would just be fine. If you wanna crack up the gains then you can do a bulk but I don't recommend doing a dirty bulk. Go clean if you are having a hard time eating that much healthy food then try to eat more calorie-dense foods that contain fat like nuts, hazelnuts, olive oil, high-fat meat, cheese, full-fat milk... so on. Lastly, if you overtrain (especially with high-volume reps) it would prevent you from becoming muscular. Your body needs to recover first from the damage you are doing to your muscles BEFORE growing. So If you damage your muscles and don't let them rest your body won't have a chance to grow ever. You would be just recovering from the damage you did to your muscle tissues all the time, and not gain more muscle size. And on top of that, if you don't eat enough, all the protein and calories will barely be enough to recover from muscle damage and not enough to grow. That's why fat people can gain muscle way more easily compared to skinny guys. They have barely unlimited calories for anything and everything. The concept of not having enough calories for building muscle after preparing it doesn't exist for them. They only need to lift heavier weights, take some protein, and rest that's it.
