Most people really screw up coming back to the gym after a break. This often results in slow progress, wicked plateaus, and even injury. Check out my top 5-6 rules for your first training cycle back in the gym!

10 years absence. No lifting at all. It's weird coming back but I trust there's some muscle memory there after lifting for over 20 years prior to the break. Had alot of injuries, surgeries etc. I'm lifting feather weights, taking one step at the time and NO ego. It's hard to accept how much time this will take but it's a mission. I did a local search on my PC and found my old diet too so here we go.

I took a 20 year layoff.. I’m 52 , i started with light weight for 6 months, today I’m at a moderate weight.. the only thing I’m not using is the traditional barbell bench for chest and shoulders, not doing traditional barbell squats, I’ve built my own basement gym during the pandemic, I’m using bench press machine independent, shoulder press and a belt squat machine.. I still use dumbbells because it’s a must for me .. it’s been a year my chest shoulders and arms are back like i was 20 years ago.. need to work my legs more often, Everyone thinks I’m using something illegal for growth, i tried to explain what muscle memory is but they don’t believe it.. the hardest thing is dieting, I’m on high protein diet, I eat plenty of egg whites, lean meat , chicken and fish.. I stay away from sugars , bread and pasta and I strictly drink water .. I actually gained weight but didn’t increase body fat but I did increase muscle mass .. I need to concentrate more on my mid section .. I’ve been watching your videos for inspiration

I've had about a 5 month layoff after 8 years of hammering it out at the gym. It is tough going trying to get myself back in. I have always watched vids to get myself motivated to workout. Watching this video has just jumpstarted my desire to start, thanks for the advice.

I commented about 1 month ago. I had been an active lifter for 7 years. Competed in a powerlifting meet, overall was in very good shape. Then came 6 month of no lifting and poor diet. After 1 month of lifting 2-3 days a week, I can honestly say, my muscle exponentially grew. My strength isn’t coming back as fast, but it’s definitely much faster than starting from scratch. Thanks for the motivation 👏🏼🙏🏼 muscle memory IS A THING

First week down from gym . Went 4 days out of seven . Sleeping during the day and eating 4-5 meals a day . Not big size portions that bloat me but enough to feel full . 2 more weeks to go on full body workouts , then will start isolating and train chest with biceps , back with triceps and shoulders and legs and core .
