Pete not understanding a beginner is just a novice who has played 2-3 games 😂😂😂😂😂

I was ranked expert/master but you lose your rank if you dont play. I logged in the other day and even I’m a novice now lol

Beginners probably have the widest variation in skill. Some of them are novices that got a tad lucky in their first game, some are about to intermediates or experts within a few days/weeks.

I see enough experts/intermediates and the occasional master that plays like a noob. It isn't that hard to rank up to Master. I should know, as I'm at Master Rank, and I still make silly mistakes that can make me look very much like a noob.

@@gheald5245 Honestly I just view the ranks as a measure of stubbornness, they need to nerf the fuck out of the rank points you get from coming 2nd 3rd and 4th it rewards people to much for doing nothing but sit on there asses all game

A couple of notes: I enjoy watching you play and also enjoy your thoughts on Philosophy. As stated in a comment on a previous video, that is my major, along with Physics. Regarding your fallacy of argument from authority, the way I understand it, is that its only a fallacy if its an unqualified authority, or if you are using it deductively or conclusively. If instead you are using it as an inductive argument, or merely as evidence, then its not a fallacy as long as its a relevant source. An example of it as a fallacy would be: The government says X is perfectly safe, so therefore it wrong to believe otherwise. OR My Pastor says all the scientists are wrong about the age of the Earth, and we should trust him over all the godless scientists. An example of it not being a fallacy: Most Astronomers claim the Sun on average is 93 million miles away from Earth, therefore it we should take that claim very seriously. OR The FDA says we shouldn't eat lead paint, so maybe we shouldn't be so confident that its safe. Appeal to authority is useful when its a highly specialized claim and the 'authority' is one or more highly qualified experts in a related field. Absent contrary evidence, its a compelling piece of evidence. It doesn't mean something is true beyond doubt, but it does mean there is extra credibility to the claim. So its not a fallacy if someone uses your testimony as evidence that certain dice mechanics in the game are broken. Its not so compelling that we shouldn't dare question it, but it should be compelling enough to lend credibility to the claim. Claims from qualified authority is evidence, just not comprehensive and indisputable proof. Unfortunately, in today's world, the common counter argument to qualified authority sources is to claim conspiracies. Conspiracies aren't inherently bad arguments, but they are bad arguments if they are used to dismiss valid sources with little to no credible evidence to justify such dismissals. Also, they are irrational if they require highly improbable implications, like claiming nearly all climate scientists, world governments, weather organizations, and climate science organizations are purposefully lying about global warming.

That was epic! On the topic of if we are real, I have no idea if we are or not... nobody can know! However, the only important thing is that you believe that your actions have consequences, and if you do anything, that will have some result, be it good or bad. In the end, it doesnt matter, and just live your life, since YOU can't change anything either way 😂

Really fun one to watch! But I sometimes feel like Pete waits just a hair too long to make some of the moves he wants to make and it ends up costing him. Almost like a missed chance at being opportunistic due to either being a bit too cautious or a bit too greedy (depending on the situation). Green kill is a good example: Could have killed green when he was on 4 cards whilst collecting his own 4th card, resulting in setting in twice. But that delay allowed white to collect the kill and 5 essentially free cards.

I often struggle with the same thing. Do I act early on what is probably a 'good' move, or do I wait one more turn when I'm pretty sure that good move will actually be a GREAT move?

The winning move in this game seemed to be the cap choice. Of course, there was plenty of luck and skill in other parts of the game but that cap choice was the real defining detail. And as far as "cogito ergo sum" goes, I have to ask: what is thinking, what is "I", and why can I say "therefore" and imagine it actually means anything? A little less fundamental of a concept than it might seem.

At 37:20, we see a type of defense in depth that I have never tried before (at least in Risk). It works well in heavier simulations/heavier wargames, so I don't know why I was never clever enough to try it in Risk.

of corse reality isnt describable. since reality include all acts of decribing somthing but include more. so you can never describe it all. the is the math proof if you need one. another proof is the decribing use words. but babies dont know words but still experience reality. and regardless for sure there are no words to decribe everything. anyway gg.
