Our breakup was all my fault in my situation. I was neglectful, took her for granted, criticized her and reviled her for no reason other than my own unresolved trauma and fear of abandonment. Then soon after that, you’re going to wake up one day, make your breakfast, have a shower, and randomly as you’re getting dressed, you’ll realise you haven’t thought about it for ages. The important thing is to focus on yourself. Having an exercise routine really helped me a lot, it distracts your mind, and it really makes you feel better. I think part of the reason why it is so upsetting is you maybe feel like you aren’t good enough. Getting an exercise routine in, and sticking to it means within a week or 2 you’ll start to feel like a king/queen, especially when you see and/or feel a difference with your body. Allow yourself to cry when you need to. It’s healthier than bottling it up. Document your feelings. Some people suggest keeping a journal. I found making private daily vlogs helped me express how I felt, and allowed me over time to see my mental & physical progress. Be very careful with this though, no one is to see them and they aren’t to be stored or sent anywhere other than somewhere you feel is secure. They are strictly for your eyes only and to be deleted when you start to feel that doing them is no longer necessary. Apart from this, socialise when you can. It’s easy to shut yourself off from everyone. Don’t. Meeting with friends & family helps you more than you realise. Don’t sleep around with other people to “regain” some ground. It will only make you feel worse and confused. Take a hiatus from dating & romance. Only start when you feel ready to, not when you want to “get back at them”. Don’t message your ex about how you feel. No, no, no. Do not message them. Ever. About anything. If you have shared responsibility over something (kids, pets, bills etc), fine, but keep it strictly about that. That’s all I can say honestly. Just give it time. You will get through this. You will feel better. You will move on. You will find someone better for you. Good luck - you are stronger than you know!!

I don't know if I would ever forgive myself for taking an ex back if they left me for someone else. My relationship got toxic and I can admit I made a lot of mistakes but I wasn't the only one. I tried so hard to make things work and probably ended up pushing her away in the process. Up until yesterday been in no contact for about 50 days when I saw her out with another dude. Never felt worse in my life. Here I am trying to better myself and learn from my mistakes while she is off "working on herself". I know why she was probably able to move on rather quickly...because maybe she had someone lined up already. I feel like a fool. I don't have answers to these questions but I am trying to stay positive and commit to my growth so I am the best possible version of myself for my next relationship regardless of who it is. Would I like it more than anything to try and work things out still of course, but again I don't think I could do it depending on what she might have done since NC. The only solace I can take from this is my next relationship will be better. She has a lot of issues and I can't imagine someone else putting up with it the same way I did. I was with my ex for 18 months. Today it is 6 months exactly since I've seen her *March 11. It's now September 11. Backing up. I have learned through your videos that she has a very anxious preoccupied attachment style and I have a secure attachment style. THAT explains EVERYTHING in this relationship. She freaked out all the time if I didn't answer the phone certain times. etc. She also suffered SERIOUS DEPRESSION! This video hit it right on the head. Anyway on Feb 11 she called and told me that she moved her status on facebook to single. I reacted by texting her that I did the same. to call me if she missed me..then she texted back "Not sure I wanna break up, I'll wait to hear from you" Me having a secure attachment style, I didn't freak out or even take it seriously. And we didn't talk about it. I saw her a handful of times after that but she never brought it up once. I thought things were OK but I would see her one weekend both Sat and Sun but the following weekend she said she was with her mother. So I suspect she was seeing someone else when she wasn't with me. The weird thing is that after the weekend she wasn't with me she was admitted to the hospital for depression. She actually was suicidal. This was very serious because they moved her to the Psych Ward in another city. She got out on a Friday but again said she was with her mom that Sat. I saw her Sunday and still thought everything was great. The following weekend she acted suspicious (can't really get into that) I felt her pulling away so I went no contact for 2 weeks and she didn't reach out. Long story short, she broke up with me through facebook messenger. Told me not to contact her and that she was moving on with someone else. I did send her a text message (it was pretty direct and semi vicious) then no contact ever since. She had me blocked on facebook right after the breakup but then unblocked me in July about an hour after I posted pictures of me and a girl I was out with. Her new profile pic has another guy in it but I won't look at her profile. You still think I should be "hopeful">>? Any feedback would be welcome. She hasn't reached out at all. thx

Mr. Suds Doctor this is so similar to what I’m going through. He blocked me on FB. The best thing I can do is to put it out of my mind. HE is avoidant attachment and I am secure. It’s still extremely painful, however I keep telling myself I deserve so much better. He’s even told me that several times. I don’t want to be with someone who doesn’t respect me. I treated him like a king. He also has Borderline Personality Disorder. Bottom line is, after he begged me to move in, I think he got scared and broke up with me instead. It’s way too hard to figure out. I just pray I meet a great guy so I don’t half to imagine him with anyone else. Our physical relationship was beyond amazing. But if he needs something more, oh well. I think I’m a pretty good catch so I just need to keep loving myself. Good luck..l you deserve better!

This is explaining exactly what’s going on with my ex and I. She has depression and major anxiety issues. She broke up with me because of different beliefs, I told her I would change them. Then a month later she’s with another man. Even tho she said she need therapy, just wanted to be alone and not date anyone for awhile😂. My story is weird somehow, i was friends for 3 years with this chick that was married, previous to our 2 year "shit show" she ended up cheating on her husband with me, i gave her a chance because she kept saying he is a horrible person and she wants to divorce him, and they have a kid. Ok, here's a situation I haven't found a video on. the girl I was seeing started pulling away, I knew it, but I didn't press. but when she finally told me what was going on, I came on too strong and held on too tight and she pulled away again. I tried to leave her be, but right when we were getting things back on track her ex from years ago messages her out of the blue after a year, asking if she's single(has a gf). Breaks up with his GF the next day and they spend day together catching up the day after that(red flags aplenty!). she goes out of town without telling me, I suspect she's seeing him. she comes back and tells me we can't see each other any more and she needs to work on her growth and dating is a distraction. I overshare again(my bad). but then I back off and leave her alone. Long story short, I figure out she's been going over there and hanging out with him(wasn't hard to find him). And last night for the first time I see her in almost 3 weeks since, she shows up at my work(I play music in a club) with him in tow and all over him(but no kissing that I could see). trying no to look at me, but clearly parading him(they're dancing REAL close all night). avoids me till the next set then decides to wave hi all friendly like from the dance floor. leaves halfway through the night with him. Texts me to say sorry she didn't get a chance to say hi properly. But she DIDN'T tell her best friends she was leaving. I haven't replied at all. Should I maintain no contact or tell her I don't think we should be friends or talk to each other for the time being? I'm new to all this stuff here and Craig and Margaret are awesome, so thank you!
