Revenge of the sith is actually unironicly my favorite movie ever seeing anakin become evil is great and heartbreaking the "you we're my brother" scene has been over memed like crazy the actual original scene is actually beautiful the fact that ankian became evil to try to save padme then ended up acsdently killing padme is poetic irony at its finest and just genius writing also the soundtrack is amazing has this sort of dangerous feeling like you know something bad is coming up but in a way it's also beautiful which perfectly describes what this movie is dangerous and depressing but also beautiful and poetic truly an amazing movie and the genius of it has been overshadowed by memes

It’s completely okay to like bad movies. I think people tie too much of their self worth in the things that they enjoy. So if media they consume is considered low quality (for any number of reasons from the cinematography to an uninspired script), they feel like it’s an attack on them as a person. But you can enjoy any form of media you want. It’s like enjoying “trash tv”. Whatever scratches the itch is what scratches the itch. If people didn’t enjoy it, it wouldn’t be made. That all being said, film school is probably slightly different in that you’re going to analyze what makes media a better product, so it’s easier to be surrounded by the examples of something missing the mark. But that doesn’t mean you can’t still enjoy it. It’s okay to want to eat Taco Bell for dinner sometimes. Doesn’t make you any better or worse of a person.

When I watched Peter Jackson's King Kong in theaters back in the day, people were cheering and having a great time. It was so exciting, adventurous, and even a bit scary at times. I was blown away by the visuals and surprisingly emotional story. Nowadays, people like to shit on it for its length and one specific scene of sketchy cgi, but back in 2005, it was mindblowing. In fact, it won best visual effects awards and revolutionized cgi, almost as well as Lord of the Rings trilogy (although that trilogy was still the best). I can't think of any modern adventure movie made these days that has had the same immersion and involvement that King Kong had.

You know, you could actually make Revenge of The Sith's plot make sense? If you just move the discovery of Anakin's marriage to a little bit after the rescue of Palpatine. The Council threatens to expel Anakin from the Jedi order, but Palpatine tries to argue on his behalf, since Anakin saved his life, and he's a galactic hero to the republic. Sheev appoints Anakin as his advisor/general and they start to become friends, after Anakin feels betrayed by the council, and starts to question their rules. Then, Palpatine asks Anakin if he's ever heard the tragedy of darth plagueis the wise... It's not a story the Jedi would tell you.

Cool idea but Anakin only becoming friends with palpatine after he’s promoted by him makes me wonder why he would trust him so much. Palpatine grooming Anakin since he was 9 and acting as a father figure makes it more believable that Anakin trusts him so much

@@ajtallent4501 He would trust him because he literally saved his life in the most daring rescue right at the beginning of the movie. Kenobi was knocked unconscious. Anakin saved the day, and saved him. He would be seen as a hero of the republic for what he did at the beginning of the film. Anakin would trust him because Palpatine comes to argue on his behalf, and he reminds everyone in the room "This guy is a hero, if he's not fit to be a jedi then why was he the one who beat Dooku?" You can have some stuff of him becoming friendly with him before this, that's fine, but the best motivation for him to stand up for Anakin is the opening of the movie. He may have very well saved the republic, from a certain point of view. And it's hard to argue with Anakin's results, nor why the man whose life he saved wouldn't let him get dishonored.

I've actually thought about this scene, I might do a video on how it might play out, lol. I can actually see some of Palpatine's arguments against his exile. "He is a hero to the republic, and you would shame him? For what? Love? This tradition is not one the galaxy shares with your order. They will not understand." "If all the people in the galaxy followed your teachings, master Jedi, it would be a much more cold, place... and it would not be long before there was nobody there to live in it."

I kinda feel like phantom menace isn't super intense because they didn't want to stress out the child actors for Anikan and Padme which I understand but maybe they made it to easy for them like these are literally two of my favorite characters in fictional media ever but I can't recall a single interesting line they say in this movie overall is it a bad movie in my mind? If you want to get a conversation going, ask someone what movie they've re-watched the most. It has an objective answer, they have to think about for a second, and it leads to them explaining why the re-watched it (Christmas tradition, comfort film, etc). It's usually more interesting than "it's good/sucks".

@@Caboose47 I grew up with the prequels, so I can't really judge his general performance objectively (except for the scene in AOTC). All I can say is that even as a kid, I loved Anakin. If an actor can embody a role well enough to get a generation of children to get behind their performance then I'd say they did alright. With that said, Ewan McGregor was indisputably the best part of those movies.
