This is literally me with my friends. I read them the first chapter and they finally agreed to read it so I kept bugging them and then my friends showed me a screenshot like-"I have it on hold from the library, okay? Wait is 12weeks." And I'm like-" bro borrow mine I'm bringing it to you tomorrow." And now I am fully aware (from past experience where she made me borrow a book) that if she did not read it, she would either hold onto it for an uncomfortably long time or cave and read it or do the Return of Shame where she didn't actually read it. I love my friends :)

The thing with stormlight archives is that you read the first 5 chapters to know what the fizz is all about but then you are hooked up and end up reading the whole book and then you buy not only the other 5 books but also the entire cosmere and now you aren't reading anything else but Sanderson for a while

Honestly warbreaker should’ve been read at least before oathbringer and ideally before words of radiance, although I think it has it’s charms the other way around. Elantris ties in to some stormlight books but not as hard as warbreaker And imo emperor’s soul and elantris should be read before 2nd era mistborn

I do sometimes, depending on my mood. A physical book is nicer, but a lot more effort to hold, especially when you're in a strange position such as lying down (which is me often). I usually read ebooks on my phone, which is small and portable and with me always - I can whip it out at the bus stop and get a chapter in without having to rummage through my bag, etc. Coupled with my local library having an online-checkout ebook section, It's very convenient for my busy schedule.

I worked with a guy for about a year and 4 months after I gave him a copy of WoK he passed away from a brain tumor, I was really sad that happened but he literally decided to die before being sucked into the cosmere and I think it was the right move honestly

True experience: i was like 15 and some of my friends bought me 2 books for my birthday. They knew i was (and still am) a huge mythology guy so they bought me these Christian Jacq's books called Ramses'son or something like that. Long story short, i discovered that those 2 books were only the FIRST 2 books of a quadrilogy so i had to read them and then i was forced to buy the last 2 to know what happened at the end of them. It was a good series, not great but still good

Yes. Stormlight is better than mistborn. It starts with fewer and more interesting characters, and the conflicts are more nuanced and subtle. Definitely read it.
