When your magneto fails on your Kohler engine

My Pro Chem Legends Kohler motor made a terrible noise the other day, pulled the flywheel and found that one of the magnets that charge the battery came off and destroyed the other ones, due to the age of the motor I didn't want to waste the money on a new setup so I put a Chevy alternator on it where the air pump used to be. The motor to this day is still running great and just for my own entertainment, I want to see how much more time I can get out of it.
The set up is working great I will keep you all posted on how it does.
