When your mates bail- Me, My Triumph and a trip to the Pyranees

A trip planned with 3 friends back in March, slowly dwindled it's way down to just me. With 2 days until departure I had some serious revisions to make to my kit list, including purchasing and installing a dedicated sat nav (Tom Tom Rider 550). Here is a short video of my unfolding adventure.
Travelled via Brittany Ferries from Portsmouth to Bilbao

1300 miles covered door to door
most of the roads features are along the french and spanish pyranees from Bilbao, up to san Sebastian and across into pyranees. I based myself for 3 days in Aucun, mid pyraneed and explored the region from here, before having to travel back

Awesome video. Bilbao and San Sebastian are great cities and the Spanish Pyrenees stunning. You should do longer video about this trip!

Beautiful, you are lucky to have all those amazing roads and views so close to you. I can ride half a day in any direction and still be in Texas lol

Lol. Yes we are lucky to have such diverse landscapes and cultures within not too far a distance. You can drive 20 miles outside of london and find lovely country lanes and countryside, or go on bigger adventures and within a few hours be in the mountains or by the sea. Yes very lucky.

@@ToniReviews Texas is fairly diverse, but I have a minimum 2hour ride before I see changes. Luckily for me I have plenty of 2 lane back roads within a few miles.

Hi Toni, I went up pyraneese last year and followed tour de France for four stages. (1973 norton commando) think I may have been on some of the same roads as you. Except, Newhaven to Diepe ferry, (because m cheap. Haha) .. This year I'm planning same again, but Alps stages. Best wishes, Tony. Hi @tonyshortland8812. Thanks for sharing. Yes great roads, a little hairy in places you like oooooh I’m up high here and it’s twisty… but absolutely beautiful. Lovely picture you paint doing it on the 1973 commando… I bet that turned some heads. Good luck with the next trip… I think my next big adventure is a motorcycle tour of Vietnam 🇻🇳👍

Yep, very annoying, but I was just like what the heck I’ve paid now I’m not losing the ferry money. It was a good trip and even a little scary at times riding those mountain roads especially in the descending fog. At the weekends all the locals hit the roads and they blast past at crazy speeds on these skinny little roads - puts the wind up you 😂

I go almost every year to tge Pyrenees, riding from Amsterdam through some French National parcs into Andorra then Spain. It's a lovely place, I prefer it over the Alps. What area where you?

I travelled up from Bilbao o San Sebastian, and then along the pyranees. I spent most of my time searching around the road Aucun. Some amazing roads like the Col d;'aibisque, col du portalet, Aucun to Arthez D Asson etc. Lovely roads
