I know this is about a year Late, but have you kept an eye on your CPU when the game would "jump"? Do have your game on a separate drive from your OS? Sometimes if your CPU can't feed the graphics card fast enough it could cause issues. I've found that if games are kept on a separate drive from the OS it can run better, I think that it has to do with the computer wanting to do something with the OS making the game wait a bit.

This helicopter que reminds me of when I found out how many cims will stand and wait for taxies. I saw crowds of people never leaving train stations and other transport hubs. Had no idea why. Turns out they were perpetually waiting for a taxi. And ofc they would disregard the options of transfer right next-door.
@STABloid3 жыл бұрын
This will be interesting. Helicopters... They're weirdly implemented into the Mass Transit. I just ripped all of my helicopters out. Too many cims were queing by the 100s, for soooo long most of them were reaching the pathfinding reset time limit.
@mildertduck3 жыл бұрын
It looked as if they pretty much spaced out by the end of the episode :)
@Rikard_Nilsson3 жыл бұрын
yeah they should have some limiter for them, it's not very realistic for pretty much everyone to afford flying around in helicopters.
@heretolevitateme3 жыл бұрын
Cims do the same at bus stops, too. They kinda just use whatever transit is closest, without much consideration for anything else. That makes small capacity options like Helicopters and buses in busy areas like at a port or airport pretty difficult to use. Monorail is a little higher capacity, but what Biffa really needs is a passenger train line.
@STABloid3 жыл бұрын
@@mildertduck I noticed that, but I think that was mainly due to the frequency of cruise ships. Or the Cims all despawned at the same time, due to waiting too long. They all disembark the cruise ship at the same time, so this is quite possible. The pathfinding algorithm just doesn't handle helicopters realistically.
@txboy18363 жыл бұрын
@@STABloid . The joys of the cruise industry and how do they all get home. The sad reality is that most cruise ports have massive parking lots and garages for a large portion of users. Then a lot of people will use taxis (or "ride share" services). People hate buses, trains, and other such transport systems due to the luggage they are bringing with them.

Maybe it is too obvious but, maybe connect the ferry line directly to the cruise line stop and maybe even the port facilities? Then a little nitpicking/detailing. A Marina allways has a ramp to put boats in the water. A marina office on shore as well as a marina mall are often available. A yacht dry storage area and a yacht crane are amenities that are also interesting. Maybe some boys to guide the yachts out might be a nice feature too? A small industrial loocking area for bunkering fuel, water, waste water etc. might look nice too.. In harbour reclamation there is usually also some high-rise-modern-appartment complex on one of the protruding ends. That might be nice too.

I know the 20 capacity of the stock helicopter is realistic, and for cities skylines (comparing to trains/metros) very high. But 20 ppl just does not cut it. That said when I saw all the helicopter I couldn't help thinking about "Apocalypse Now" - Ride of the Valkyries. Honestly I think I'd get the "Mars Helicopter" asset from the workshop and set passenger capacity to 75 or something, maybe more. A bit cheaty, but the alternative is just an helicopter invasion. It's the same problem with buses (except they cause even more traffic), but I use "HESS Swiss Diesel 2019: Articulated (Generic)" and set the capacity to 60 passenger. I've found that keeping the vehicle count low helps with late game issues (like reaching the pathing limits built into the game). Tho it tends to break around 300k population. Still every bit will help. I love this series. Few more episodes to go and then I won't be able to binge watch anymore.
