Also when you have accessed your photos at the end of this organization process remember they don't need to be an album per year 😅 you can have a 90s album and just put what you've got in chronological order as best you can and no one will notice any gaps my dear ❤ it'll just be an album of the 90s time of your life

Remember that you could organize in a temporary spot while you dont have plastic boxes. I'm planning on catfood boxes for the beginning and messy middle so I can buy stuff that all matches for storage at the end.

Good job, I went through my photos a couple of months ago and got them down to three boxes, those cardboard shoebox looking things I know you had one at least one in your closet. I’ve got four matching all black ones from IKEA and I got them down to three boxes. Luckily digital came along, and so there’s nothing after 2012. I never print anything anymore and oddly enough I look at the photos that are in my computer more than I ever look at a printed photo. I have them saved in my laptop, on an external hard drive, and I have Google photos so they’re backed up in at least three places so they’re safe. I threw away thousands of photos when I went through them. I don’t need photos of a random mountain or lake where we went camping or how many pictures of a waterfall in Yosemite do I need it doesn’t change. Tons of photos of old birthday parties and Christmas parties and get togethers and things from work, people I never see anymore. A lot of people I don’t even know who they are anymore so no reason to keep those. One box is just vintage photos from the late 1800s of my grandparents all the way up through the 1970s and then the rest are 80s and 90s up to 2012. I did find that I had a group of years in the 80s missing. I don’t know where those tears went. I have no clue. I guess they couldn’t have been that important or I’d be missing them. One thing I’ve done in the past is make Shutterfly books. I have a one whole little 8 x 8 book of all the pets that I’ve had in my life and I have one of old family photos, real old 1800s early 1900s, I have a few vacation ones. The books are pretty good deal when they have specials and I’ve gotten those all in the same size. They don’t take up very much room on my shelf at all, I have six or seven books, only takes up a few inches.

Thank you so much! I like those cardboard boxes better than the plastic ones I’m using but I like that the plastic once’s let me separate them. I don’t want to use envelopes or rubber bands. I got rid of all the same types of photos you’re describing. You only need so many photos of Mt Rainier ya know? Haha I get it!! And the people we don’t even know! 😂

I have printed some Shutterfly books before and I love them. I’m much more likely to look at those than actual photos or even digital photos. They can be a bit frustrating to make tho. I think it’d so cool how old the photos are that you have. Great job decluttering! I hope to get there soon!!! 🥰🥰
