My homeland 🇲🇽🙏😭💕💕 by the way, the Granada song is a bit controversial for its racial connotations, but it makes note of “Los Ojos Moros” because Granada was one of the cities of the Moorish empire in Spain. Muslims, or Moors, ruled the Al-Andalus (the Andalusian region of Spain) from the 8th to the 15th century. We Hispanics have a lot of influence and words we still use from the Arabs, almohada, alhaja, valija, algodón, azúcar, just to name a few words, we still use them in our day to day and were Arabic. But wait!! that’s not all 😂 before the Moors, in Spain the Germanic Visigoths ruled from the 5th to the 8th century , and yes!, we still use words our Germanic ancestor taught us, bigote, aguanta, banco, ganar, líder are just a few of the words in Spanish of Germanic origin. So there you go! I guess us Hispanics come from, well, everywhere 😁 and remember, next time you complaint why you have a stubborn reddish undertone in your hair remember your ancestors 😂
