Its called Flanderization "A simple-minded character gradually becomes more foolish over time, eventually reaching a point of utter mindlessness. Alternatively, a dimwitted character may develop a mean streak, frequently using their lack of intelligence as a justification for their wrongful actions." Which fits Patrick here to a T and this does not effect dumb characters. ANY character can be flanderized. Once having depth will be boiled down to a few character traits. A lot of shows do this now. The Simpsons, Family guy and the list goes on

Day 9 of figuring out a character Flix completely likes or at least doesn’t think needs to be in prison: no new updates and I’m pretty close to just confirming Gary is the correct answer but I technically don’t have enough evidence.
