I think the "you don't deserve that shield, my dad made that shield" was the culmination of all the emotions of iron man's emotions about his father since the first iron man. he's been up and down and full of regret and he finally just breaks down and you can tell he just wants his dad.

I agree with you on that scene..... To me that line is the SUMMATION of the Tony Stark character throughout all of these movies going back to the 1st Irom Man movie. I love it because while Tony Stark has developed and even GROWN over the course of the films, the core issues with the character STILL revolve around his father and living under his shadow and seeking his approval. In a sense, Tony Stark's compulsion for everything he does is to prove he is "worthy" to be Howard Stark's son. However, Howard Stark's crowning achievement is the creation of Captain America (and his shield). The irony of it is that no matter how smart or wealthy Tony Stark becomes he will NEVER feel as good/worthy as Steve Rogers. It is a very interesting dynamic because in a sense Tony Stark and Captain America are siblings as they were both CREATED by Howard Stark.

i think the best scene was the end with zemo and black panther. it showed that the sokovia incident broke zemo, and took away his reason to live. he wanted to die but he couldn't, not before he made the avengers feel a bit of the pain he felt the day his world ended when when tony created ultron. and the moment he accomplished his plan he felt free to end his life, he had nothing left

Exactly ! Thank you ! There's everything in that scene : good action, good character development, good pay off after the whole movie, really good character moments, the dialogue is on point, the suspense is present too... Heck, there's even fear in that scene. You fear for your favorite characters demolishing their friendship.

Bat Spam101 Yes, now that you say it, it does remind me of the end of Return of the Jedi ! I always considered that the fight with Vader was the first step Luke ever made towards the dark side since he needed anger to fight him. Then he controlled himself at the end, but the door is still open. That's why I hope they'll go for a Luke that is unsure of where he stands in the next movies. But back to Marvel, that is indeed a really good comparison.

Iron Man showing up in Russia wasn't luck. Zemo made sure he'd show up by calling the room service lady so she'd find the body and the mask that looks like bucky. it reaches the news and iron man realizes bucky was set up and that cal was telling the truth about the other winter soldiers. also it's not inconceivable that the place where the tape was stored also had a vcr to play it. Zemo was a vital character as he raised the conflict over and over. the initial conflict is the base for the fight but Tony and cap don't really want to fight. yet Zemo kept adding fuel to the fire. the bombing then activating the winter soldier and essentially causing the airport sequence as cap and bucky just wanted to go stop Zemo and iron man just wanted to keep the avengers together. then he shows iron man the video of bucky killing his parents and finally snaps when he finds out cap knew. this why Zemo works and Lex doesnt. Lex tried to pit them against each other but eded up forcing superman by capturing hs mother

I realized this, too (on my 3rd viewing)! Despite the conflicts with Cap, there was no way that Iron Man would just ignore that planted information in the room. He was going to respond, most likely by finding Cap and joining in whatever fight they encountered.

+Nate Robinson mostly agree with you, especially the part that Zemo works betther than Luthor. However, how did Zemo knew Ironman would know where to go? Tony had to ask falcon about the place in order to reach cap, that's something Zemo couldn't have manipualted.

I still don't understand this: "they could have made this movie without Zemo". He is the reason why the fighting happened. If the UN attack wasn't blamed on Bucky no one would have been looking for him, Steve would have never gone all rogue about it. T’challa wouldn’t have been trying to kill bucky. Like, literally everything going to shit it’s because of Zemo.

The great thing about Agent Carters death was what it meant for Cap. Not only did he love her, but her death also moved Bucky into the position of being his only surviving friend from the old days, which perfectly hinges into him being determined to save him.

Before getting into the Movie Fight, I just saw Cap 3; I used to call this movie a Civil Disturbance, but now I have to admit, it is a Civil War. It's even better than Iron Man 1 ! Well done Marvel 👏🏻 Now, Round 1: SPOILERS !!!!! Tony finding out Bucky killed his parents & the fight that follows; I think for me it's better than the airport scene. It's personal, it's emotional, the drive is understood on a primal level. Downey's best acting since Iron Man 1.

Round 2: I didn't care much for Bucky, but other than that what bothered me most is 1- the fact that the UN has funds to make The Raft prison in the middle of the ocean, but they didn't solve global hunger or help the poor countries of the world. 2- Tony seems to have limitless wealth; no person or entity on Earth is that rich. 3- Zimo seems to have knowledge of things that he couldn't have, like who killed Tony's parents, or who was going to evaluate Bucky when he was captured, or where they were gonna take Bucky in Germany. This is the moment I choose.

+John Doe Round 3: My rank of MCU movies: Number 1: Civil War Number 2: Iron Man 1 Number 3: Ant Man (I watched it 2 weeks ago for the first time, and it was a lot of fun) The rest is not so good; I'll say it again, Iron Man 3 was GARBAGE. The reason for the above is because the movies refused to take their consequences seriously, only Iron Man 1 & Civil War did it, Ant Man was simply more fun that the rest of the MCU movies.
@alialmuhanna4938
@alialmuhanna4938 8 жыл бұрын
+John Doe Round 4: Hal's had pretty good setup, and it sort of makes sense, but as Kevin points out, War Machine is basically Black Iron Man, though I do think the idea of him being in the suit after Civil War could be promising. But the character that deserves a movie more than the rest is Black Widow, and we could go into a Bourne type of spy movie, and team her up with / pit her against Punisher !

My easily favorite moment is when Zemo talks about his backstory while black panther sneaks up on him. It was perfect it made me realize that Zemo was just a man who's life was ruined by the uncaring God's. He was the statistic and he vowed revenge for that. His whole empire crumbling thing just gave me chills. That was hands down my favorite moment and probably made Zemo my fav villain

I completely disagree with the idea that Iron Man and Captain America are on the wrong sides of the registration. Captain America grew up in a time where good people were registered, then died. And Iron Man grew up in a time where weapons weren't regulated well enough and good people died. They both have great reasons to believe in what they believe in.

Not my favourite, but one of my favourite scenes is when Zemo talks with T'Challa about what happened to his family and why he wants the Avengers to fight, it felt a lot like the graveyard scene with Punisher, and made Zemo's character so much better, because once his family died, he, this ordinary guy, was able to bring down a team of superheroes. A lot of people don't like him as a villain, but I think he was fantastic.

A lot of my favorite moments aren't action moments: How about when Steve says to Scott Lang, "We're working outside the law on this one." That one line demonstrates just how good Chris Evans is, because if he delivered that line to _me,_ that way, I'd be like "Yes sir, Captain! Which laws do I break, and how soon?" I mean it. Not just any actor can make that work. He's using his whole body when he delivers that line. Someday Chris Evans will be known as more than just a competent action/adventure star.

Really? No one called the random security camera on that lone road in the woods as the worst scene? I mean the Winter Soldier being caught on camera was pivotal to this movie, yet there is no reason for a camera to be up in the trees 'coincidentally' right where the crash was. Further, he does the classic cliche of shooting the camera out after he already did everything on tape.

Have you ever seen a sequel before? Pretty much every sequel ever that has references to the original either has pictures, news reports, or random videos that are shot from impossible angles because they are recycled from earlier movies. It is hard to fault that that camera is out of place, because there are so many other examples of it throughout the MCU and other franchises that it is just commonplace now. Basiclly, if the location of the camera bothers you, you are focusing too much on one scene.
@Taoscape
@Taoscape 8 жыл бұрын
"Focusing too much on the scene" is usually the way I go. I think it was 'tolerable" until the cliche shoot the camera bit, which put it way over the top. Even then it would have been excusable had it not been THE scene to bind the entire story line together.
@richarduberton4489
@richarduberton4489 8 жыл бұрын
Earlier in the movie, Ross showed them a series of clips with impossible angles. It doesn't seem any different than that, but you seem to be more angry about the idea there could be a camera by where he ambushed Howard Stark. It was in hydras files, and Bucky did set up the ambush, so for all we know he could have recorded it on purpose. much more believable than the other scene.

The whole "Zemo isn't necessary" argument makes no sense at Alex Without him: Bucky is never framed. Cap never becomes a criminal. Bucky never escapes the government. The airport scene never happens since the only reason Cap's Team fights Iron Man's Team is to protect Bucky and get Zemo. Black Panther's storyline is never resolved. Cap, Tony and Bucky never duke it out at the end. Zemo is super necessary, without him there is no movie. All that would happen would be Cap retiring and the rest of the Avengers working for the government. TA-DA, there's your Zemo-less movie.

I think Hal is really wrong on Agent Carter's death, that scene makes Bucky the only one who actually knew captain america in the past, only one who knew who he really was, not captain america, but Steve Rogers, giving cap. another reason to want to side with Bucky and not the avengers ... bucky is basically his last living actual family, the avengers are just friends.

I was with Zack on the ordering -- I had the same top 3 just in a different order -- but then he threw in Iron-Man 3 (I had Avengers at #4). Iron-Man 3 was enjoyable for me, but the Killian was a HORRIBLE villain, and that it was at Christmas when the movie was released in the late spring was just odd. Two things that could have fixed my major issues with Iron-Man 3: 1) Set it at Pepper's birthday. That brings it full circle with the first film, and still leaves the motivations for the presents. 2) Get rid of Killian's character and fold his actions into Maya -- make HER the main villain. I don't CARE about some guy who got stood up at a new year's eve party -- he's just a douche. However, someone who essentially not only got dumped by Tony but ALSO had her idea overlooked? There's a reason for revenge. It also makes the love triangle thing make far more sense, makes her character actually useful, and brings it more in-line with the Extremis story arc (where Killian dies early on and SHE lives through the entire thing).

@firefly4f4
@firefly4f4 8 жыл бұрын
I honestly am probably in the minority, but I kind of liked the twist. It made sense as a twisted way to cover up the malfunctions. It's also redeemed a bit by the "Hail to the King" one shot. Oh, one other thing I'd change: everyone already knows where Tony lives. How hard is it to miss the big house on the cliff? I mean, he throws house parties in the armour there!. Just have him announce he'll be going after the Mandarin. Don't bother giving the address as that's completely redundant.

My fav moment was just every time T'challa spoke tbh, like you get the sense of royalty and superiority every scene he was in. Just in the way he spoke to Captain America, "Move captain, I will not ask again", I just loved him like this character who knows his worth and doesn't care that these guys are the avengers I just though he was great. But i digress ahah my fav moment was when T'challa explains who he was to bucky and cap and ends of saying "I ask you as warrior and as king, how long do you think u can keep your friend safe from me" I loved this guy soon as he said that..

The end of the last fight when a bloodied, beat-up Cap stands up, raises his fists and says "I can do this all day" was my favorite scene. That scene was a mirror of the scene from the first Captain America movie when the still scrawny Steve Rogers was fighting the bully in the alley; he said "I can do this all day" in that scene as well. Also that scene was taken right from the comic, which was extra cool.
