I think that the proper forensics for both should be concluded, a report made of the observations and case closed. I believe both had narcissistic tendencies due to the broadcasting of their fake happy relationship. I believe both wanted it to be happy but the clash of egos made both slappy w/ each other on occasion & over time. Something was building on the trip having to do with the building of the website "appearance" /illusion and arguments ensuing over most likely all of the attention Gabby was putting to the pet project and away from him and maybe others online who were paying attention to her. She was the main focus and not him. His narcissism outweighed hers and there was a moment after all the public fights where they were alone, it escalated, they got slappy again and he overcame her in a rage. The bigger narcissist is the most impulsive and in the heat of the moment acted on his impulse to choke the air out of her in anger. I think in shock he floundered around then drove home, used the card for food and gas and went home to try and play it off and think about what to do. Prob told the parents she went off to Yosemite w her friends and would catch up later to buy as much time as he could. He may have even intercepted some calls from the Petitos. When they went camping he tried to stay cool, the sister showed up and since she already spoke to Gabby on the video phone didn't think to ask - they had a day and left then Brian knew it would only be a matter of time before the police find her. He splits, now I dont think the parent knew because Gabby was not found yet. I believe he killed himself fairly soon after that at his camp before the water rose, prob shot himself. I would be curious to know if he was armed during their trip and using the firearm to control her, I don't know. I don't know if he had a gun but not sure how else he would kill himself. Very sad on all sides, The public & media is vicious and relentless upon the Laundries and I think it's disgraceful. What has our country become, completely out of control. Deepest condolences to all. Very sad story. A nightmare for both families. I do hope the Laundries come forward and tell us what happened when he came home but we may never know what happened.

You must be joking of course. This case may soon be closed from a legal standpoint. It will however continue to consume and dominate the social media and virtual landscape with an artillery of questions on the veracity of facts and findings given to the general public for consumption. I have no doubt that the last chapter of this case will be without closure for a long time to come. What next? Was the advice given by lawyer ethical and legal? The Bar and courts need to figure that one out. Were the parents obstructing justice and could they face charges? Legal minds need to figure that one out. Quite frankly it is somewhat trivial when you consider that a young life came to an end unecessarily and that the likely party to have been responsible for this found escape in death

Police wait 24 hrs. When was it closed off to the public? If the parents did have access before it was closed off to the public, why not go right away down that trail if they knew where he liked to go? That is strange. The car being abandoned is a clue he was there. Did they think he was hiding and didn't want to give away his whereabouts then and didn't think he killed himself yet? When did they become concerned he was missing? When they removed the car, was the trail inaccessible then? If they were already concerned he was missing, found the car and removed it, they should have gone down the trail before it was flooded to find him, unless they never wanted him found to keep the case unsolved. But, they broke down and chose to check after the flood, which tells me they had an idea all along where he was. Just like the reason they got a lawyer was when they knew he killed Gabby and stayed silent listening to the lawyer, although initially Brian said they had a fight and she had a "time out", despite his having her car.

@@occipitalneuralgia2339 What do you even mean? The facts are that is where he was found and to suggest his bones were planted there is ludacris and impossible. The facts are there are gators everywhere. All you have to do is look up gator attacks and Tampa Bay newscasters are reporting gator attacks in that exact area. It's based on science, how gators attack and what they do with their prey. It's also the most logical conclusion. Then you add the heavy rains they'd had and that increased his risk as gators would've been closer to the trails. They found him because the water had receded.

The mother and father did exactly what their attorney told them to do. They did not work with the local North Port Police department but they did work with FBI from the get-go. The news lied to everyone by saying that they were not working with the FBI when they actually were it was their attorney that told him not to talk to the FBI in other agencies but they did anyway. How about Gabby's mother father and stepfather lying to the FBI so much about her mental health status the fact that she was supposedly not taking any medication even though she was in the mother refused to authorize her insurance to allow her to get more medication there's a lot that's not being said. How about the fact the only reason why it was deemed homicide was because she was strangled even though the evidence points to mutual combat because her bruising and other things on her body was definitely mutual combat as in she hit somebody first the other thing is everything was written out by Brian the explaining the whole situation so many stupid civilians jump to the gun thinking they know what was going on when they didn't

The outrage of the public began due to the simple fact that Gabby was missing, Brian had come home in Gabby's van without Gabby and they refused to take Gabby's parents texts or calls to simply tell them where Brian last saw Gabby when he departed from their van road trip. It's that simple and the public will stay outraged at this family until those questions are answered. It is ironic that the Laundries son was left to decay out in the elements the same way Gabby was. I do feel justice was served in that respect. This is not going away and it is hard for the public to feel bad for the Laundries over their loss when they were so heartless and uncaring towards Gabby's greiving family over Gabby. The bible says that the mercy you give out is the same mercy you will recieve. I as a christian have prayed for the Laundries but I am outraged and confused over their inhumane way they treated Gabby's family

Isn't that always the case though? That's because these women who were battered tend to suffer from all the other stuff and then feel like they don't want to be alone or are afraid to start over and stay victim to their abusers. Others feel like they deserve it, others feel like they should stay in it for the sake of children. I mean there are many many reasons for why these women do what they do, and battered men as well! They had two reports. One said he slapped her, the other that she slapped him. The policeman is even seen in the bodycam footage going to the car and talking to one witness on the phone (the one who saw Gabby hit him), because he had that phone number. The other caller had apparently not left contact details. Gabby even admitted to hitting Brian first. And was given ample opportunity by the cops to change her story. Maybe you should watch the full bodycam footage from both cops before spouting off.

They actually had two conflicting witness statements. One was saying he slapped her, and another said she was hitting him. Then you had her telling the cops that she hit him first. People have been so quick to blame the cops when they just had to go on what information they had at the time. They carefully evaluated the situation for over an hour before making their decision on what to do.. Like they said, they didn't have a crystal ball. Even if they would've arrested him, he would've bailed out next days and they still would've been right back together. People need to lay of them cops. Not their fault.

Do you really think they are going to open up so they can be verbally slaughtered so that everyone can have their social media justice? I think not now with that being said if they were helping their son then they need to be charged with obstruction. We don’t know what has been going on behind the scenes but I do know one thing parents know their children best so of course when they were allowed to help with the search they found him. I agree the parents should be pressured to spill the beans but they have been treated as they were the murderers themselves which I feel is wrong.

You never heard of a thing called LAWYERING UP as the normal thing to do and they were told to not say a THING to anyone ? No one had any proof she was even dead at the time when Brian took off from his house. She was found after. For all we know all he said to his family is Gabby is missing and doesn't know of her where bouts. I don't even think the story even broke public before he left the house. Or maybe story broke after he got home and just of her missing while he drove home alone. Either way why would his own parents turn him in before we knew she was dead and when there is not a warrant for his arrest at all ? They are his freakin parents. Do you and all these other senseless people on here not understand any common sense at all in the matter ? And they did not have to turn him in because fbi were aware he was at home at the house. Likely of course only Brian knows what happened to her and that is it. And also here is a scenario: even if a murder warrant was issued(still doesn't mean he did it until a fair trial and verdict) before he left the house, fbi knew he was at home so one is hiding him. And then he leaves the house and his parents believe his innocence( whether he's lying or not) because that's what parents do is hope and believe their own son did not do it right? And either parents are aware or not of him leaving out the door.. what are they gonna do tackle him to the ground and call the authorities and drag him in ?? Following what I just laid out as a very Likely possible scenario,, why would they do that ? But thats not what happened. No warrant was issued on him before he Left the house. And how do you gather his parents don't have any heart or not give a shit about Gabby's death ? Are you freakin kidding me ? You must be a democrat and Trump hater so that explains how easy and gullible you are listening to these lying news media like the ones on here speculating with their fantasy opinions and without proof but you don't see it because as usual they have your head stuck too far up their asses, NOT YOURS, theirs.....

Crying that they are being subjected to scrutiny is in very poor taste. They do not seem to extend any compassion to the people that were their future in-laws. Pursue the evidence, if the DNA evidence proves his guilt, then he should be officially on record as the murderer. The Petito's deserve that much justice. People also forget that animals can accelerate the decomposition process. By that I mean if they feast on the body, then bacteria can get to the internals quicker and break it down quicker. Obviously water has plenty of bacteria (harmful usually) in it especially if it's a "swamp" area like that, and animals are living in that area. So yeah, it's possible for a body to break down in a month or 5-6 weeks. I think we think about a body breaking down in a casket where there is little to no air, the body is sealed in a container (the casket, and then the vault) so this slows the process down. People forget that a body left out in the open is subject to all sort of abuse and can definitely decompose in as little as a month if the conditions are right. In drier climates, it may take longer for the bones to break down as they will dry up and become brittle (I'm also saying dry environemnts like the desert where you may not have much moisture).

One thing about life. Them tables turn. Its ironic he was left dead in a swamp with his body decaying. Exactly how he left gaby. What you do to others always comes back around. And his parents had to go through what they put petitos family through.

Where is the evidence? Once again merely an assumption/ speculation, people need to back off with their conspiracies and make believe assumptions - it's these theories that make this case so difficult because ppl don't listen to the facts.

ehh who cares... those people know what happend and chose to avoid speaking up. i get it.. typically families will not rat on their own. But they straight up helped a murderer get away from the law plain and simple. thats a crime and if the law isnt going to prosecute them for doing that then i think the public has every right to make their life a living hell.

People calling for blood and blaming the Laundrie family. Currently, everything said about them is third party. We dont know exactly what happen and the smartest thing they did was to have a lawyer and the LAWYER was the one who advice them not to say anything. Im not saying they are 100% free from criticism . I cant imagine how the Petitot family is feeling.

I am not sorry for his family. They helped him get away and now they know what the Petito family has been going through. A kind of justice. Now I hope police can prove he did it and prove that the Laundries helped him get away so they can prosecute them.

They can't prove anything if hes dead... thats the point isn't it??make him disappear.. It's strange to me ,of course, how the parents found all that in the 1st day they looked; however they still never said they found a 'body'- nothing about DNA,blah blah- just teeth? And if he was always only 'a person of interest' in the death of Gabby and only wanted for using credit cards, why would they close the case IF HES REALLY DEAD?? Either say he was the prime and only suspect and go after him for murder -not credit credit card fraud, BUT WHY " close the case" if he was just a person of interest. None of it makes sense. Didn't they not say mom works for the government? Are we being distracted? Did someone plant that stuff there..is it a BODY? HIS? But the journal & papers survived? If the area was NOT ACCESSIBLE prior, then how was he there? Ughhh.still- The victim ..is Gabby

This is so sad and a horrible travesty. The parents have been through so much on both sides. I do believe he and Gabby loved each other but didn't know how to deal with their anxiety. I do believe that Brian had a psychotic break on Gabby and I do believe that he when he got home that he couldn't help but see her face over and over plus they were always together for the most part. His deep fear with anxiety, he had to be alone away from everyone and the family I believe went to this place, possible him and Gabby but his own pain and guilt he didn't want to live. I do believe he killed himself. How sad his parents must have mourned knowing he probably did. This is far from over because Gabby's family want answers and the world but so do the Laundries in a different way also. My heart is broken for them all. I just would have to had to TDO my son but I don't think Brian could attempt to live with what all transpired and his guilt was more than he could bare. I have great compassion for them all.
