The 408 was here in 1977 but it was called the East West Expressway. My mom drafted a petition to try and stop it from going through our neighborhood in Pine Hills without success. The construction started in the early 1970's. A girl in my elementary school class went to that Elvis concert. I remember her talking about it and then sadly shortly after that Elvis died.

Great video as always, Micah! I’m a lifelong fan of Elvis as well. I live in the Orlando area now but I grew up up in Memphis and actually got to see him in the flesh on two occasions. I never saw him perform, unfortunately, but I saw him on the front lawn at Graceland signing autographs when I was about 6 years old and then again when he was sitting in the press box of a Memphis Southmen WFL game at the Liberty Bowl. My mom gave me the binoculars so that I could see him “up close”. That was in the summer of 1974. Love your Elvis content! Have a great day!

Excellent video. I’m from Indianapolis where sadly he had his last performance. I’m over 75 years old so I was certainly an Elvis fan. He’s souly missed and as you stated. He gave 100% to his fans. He was one with the people. 🌟🥰🫶

I was a year and a half old when he played that concert. I will be sharing this with my aunt, who is a big Elvis fan. I'm sure she will enjoy the info. She lives in Ocoee, so probably not far from the hotel/apartments where he stayed.

Went there as a kid in the 70's for wrestling. Saw Dusty Rhodes taking on Harley Race. Roy Rogers was also there around '71 or '72.

Pretty cool, i have been in the suite at Maxwell terrace. That park you filmed the opening was Orlando Air Force base back in the forties. The main gate was right there.

The sports stadium was right next to Union Park Fl, east of Orlando. My uncle went there all the time for wrestling. Drove my bike by it all the time going to Union Park Junior High

I live in Sanford outside Orlando & never knew any of this. Thanks for posting. Now I'm going to have to drive by those sites. By the way I wonder if where Elvis made the food order was at Beefy King on Bumby ave. Not House of Beef. Never heard of that but Beefy King has been there forever.

Elvis Roller Coaster in Green Bay, Wisconsin: Zippin Pippin Weeks before his death in 1977, Elvis rented out a local roller coaster in Memphis for a party all night. Later, the coaster was moved to just south of Green Bay Wisconsin. In 2017, I went on this wooden coaster many times in this small regional theme park. They had a big information sign - but did not investigate further.

I went to numerous concerts and wrestling there. Originally called Orlando Sports Stadium. Name changed to Eddie Graham Sports Complex in 1978 or 79 when Eddie Graham bought it. One of the last if not last concert there was the Black Crowes. I think Janes Addiction also. Bob Dylan's Rolling Thunder Revue as well Willie Nelson & Friends both played there.

There was no "OIA" in '77. He would have landed in what was called "Hernden", or what's called Orlando Executive Airport today.

Elvis had a world-wide following, received fan mail from everywhere, but never toured because “Colonel” Tom Parker was an illegal alien from the Netherlands and was afraid if he tried to return to the US after a tour he would be denied entry.
