Anyone who does acid etching can do them for you, they are usually done in Brass or Nickel, the loss of edge is minimal and a good company (one in Birmingham is good) will do a good result. You can also buy cheap small 3 axis CNC machines A4 in size and the software is cheap for the building up of the designs, and not to tricky to use you can make some logos that way . Light burn is one software program. You can also do whole watch dials including guilloche on these with a small CNC saving you getting a Rose Engine! I think there is great scope for updating some mediocre dialled big name watches with good stylish dial upgrades to your design.

I'm not sure how well acid etching would do with it depending on the texture a person wants. Again, that comes down to patience and hand polishing. I use acid etching to make custom hands and that works well, but they are bigger than the 1 or / or 0 on my logo. Working with that individually is near impossible. Thanks for sharing some context.

I could really use a better understanding of how a crown works. How does it enter different modes from setting date to time to winding? How does a screw-down crown actually work? To me, this is a big mystery.

hello there. i don’t make custom dials for others’ projects but some are out there for the 515.24h. some makers in facebook watch mod groups do custom dial work.

Where do you get your dials? And can you take a cheap watch like say a Timex and install a custom dial on it? I am a newbie and enjoy your videos!

Yes you can put a custom dial on something like a Timex, you just have to get or make a dial that has the dial feet in the correct locations for the movement. As for where I get dials, it varies. Sometimes eBay, sometimes distributors, sometimes I make them, sometimes I harvest them from other watches.
