I haven't posted in so long, and I've missed this so much! Today I'm discussing where I've been, what happened with my physical and mental health, and also discussing the importance of addressing our health, and how misunderstood OCD is.

Thank you so much for sharing. My adult child is suffering from very similar things and still lives at home due to the anxiety. We live in Mississippi and have been searching for someone for an appointment. So glad to hear your child is better. You’re a great mom and glad you are better as well. Take care of you!

You are an amazing light. You have no idea what you're probably doing for all the thousands of thousands of people that watch you and watch your channel. I myself suffer from mental disorders. And society creates a stigma about people talking about or who have mental health because we're automatically labeled. But at the end of the day you showed your vulnerability you showed that you are human and that life throws its punches at you. Thank you for sharing this beautiful strong video I appreciate you I send you lots of light and love

Amy, I have always loved your honesty and vulnerability and how relatable you are as a result. You are inspire me to be better, but in a way that feels achievable instead of defeating. One of my very closest friends struggles with debilitating OCD. She has struggled to feel supported and understood by friends and family, because people truly don’t understand this disorder. Thank you for always choosing to shine a light on things like this. You have helped and will continue to help and inspire so many. Love you, friend!

Thank you for this. My oldest child suffers from anxiety and counting compulsion. The counting compulsion, among other things, got to a point where he was almost non-functioning. Throw in Covid, and moving to a new house and it was a total nightmare. It’s been over a year of medication and therapy and he’s finally able to manage day to day activities with support. I hope things continue in a positive direction for our children.

Dear Amy, Thank you so much for your honesty, for sharing and educating all of us. Much like your son, my husband has been struggling with OCD since he was a young child. This pandemic has only brought out the worse of it. We have had so many arguments about his behavior. We recently had some hard discussions about it and how we can help him. It has been a rough time for all of us, and it really brings some peace to know that you are speaking about it and to know that we are not alone. I appreciate you. Lots of Love, Nancy

I'm glad your kid was able to find help. I think your viewers are obsessive and compulsive on a surface level, but they don't have the actual life altering disorder. I feel you on the frustration of people just throwing out mental health terms... I was diagnosed with CPTSD years ago and it pissed me off when someone randomly says "I'm going to get PTSD from this" or "That gave me such PTSD"... It takes everything in me not to lose it because those of us who actually have it struggle HOURLY just to get by....I'm so happy your child was accepted into the program that is changing their life and as a parent it also has to be changing yours! I had been in regular PTSD therapy for 10yrs, but once I had intense EMDR light therapy my whole world changed. I still stuffer, but I'm able to LIVE now. I totally understand what it's like to find that one treatment that changes everything.❤️

Thank you for the best description of OCD I have ever heard. My former husband suffered from this and it is a crippling issue. Thankfully, we had a wonderful doctor that completely understood OCD and worked with him, not only medicaiton wise, but with therapy and suggestions and other lifestyle changes. Hugs to you and your entire family.

I suffer from depression and anxiety myself and know how debilitating it can be, but to have such a severe form of both that you can no longer function is a scary thought. I hope the house you're building is finished by the summer so you can finally have permanent stability again with your home. Remember to look after yourself Amy, making content for instagram and youtube should always come after self care. 😘😘😘💞💞💞💞💞

Not too many people are willing to talk about Mental Illness. Thank you for sharing and glad to hear your child got the help they needed. It is hard to see your kids in such a state and feeling like you can’t help much. You are a great mother. Mental illness is no joke, whatever kind it is, and it is some times hard to even talk about it to your own doctor. I know from experience. 😓 But my doctor could tell by the way I was when asked questions, which was a good thing, cause I was having a hard time even bring up how I was feeling. Im glad to see you back and excited about your new place! 😊 Cant wait to see what you have planned.

I have been a big fan of yours. I have always admired your energy. Thank you for describing true depression. I get frustrated when I see ads for antidepressants on TV and they show someone that doesn’t want to do the laundry. Your description was so much more realistic. Please take care of your self and do what is best for you and your family.

I have OCD as well as both of my children. The looping is absolutely horrible. It’s at times in my life (and my childrens’ lives) been absolutely terrifying and disabling. Especially when we didn’t know what it was. People need to read and learn about it, because they throw that word around and have no idea what they are talking about. My son does take a medication that has worked really well for him. But that same medication didn’t work for my daughter and made her very sick. Thank you for being so honest and sharing.

Oh Amy thank you so much for sharing. Wow you are so amazing. I understand completely what you have been going through with your depression and anxiety. I myself am dealing with the exhaustion and not wanting to do anything but sleep and my doctor and I are working on trying to figure it out mentally and physically. My depression has impacted my recovery and learning to walk. It also has left me unable to leave my house for 2 years. It's always a help to know you aren't the only one going through this. Keep up taking care of you. I am also so happy for your child. What an answer to prayer. Please keep sharing. Hugs my friend.

I am so thankful you are feeling better! I also struggle with mental health issues and I make cakes and goodness it’s so hard to walk away from it all and take time for yourself and not feel guilty. I struggle with that daily. As for your child, I know how hard it was to share but also how incredible it has to feel knowing they are blossoming into their true self and they don’t have to miss out on their entire life. Thank you for the reminder to be kind to ourselves. So thankful for your tutorials and your honesty!

I have OCD and through anxiety meds and behavioral therapy, I have been able to manage it. It’s almost not noticeable now (after many many years of it being extremely disruptive) unless I have a very stressful period. It can lead to depression, but just know that it can get better! This is what worked for me, and I hope your child improves over time as well!! Lots of support and love from my home to yours!

Btw, the exposure therapy is what my therapists used (30 years ago) and I swear to you it is the one thing that changed everything. It took a long time, but it stuck. The meds manage what I call flare ups. I just want you and your child to know that it can get better.
