My last gamble was 2 November 2023 I feel a million times better for it

The thing about gambling is no matter how much you win you will give it back and a lot more. If you win a lot, you'll think you can win more. So if you win 2 million you'll give them back 2 million sooner or later, most likely sooner. The house always wins. One is better off trying to become rich quick with a different type of gamble that's more controllable like starting a business or inventing a product.

It’s like a law of nature/God , if you obtain wealth in that manner ( gambling) it will be taken back eventually

@@SEANPOL203 someone made an interesting comment on a video about that english guy who won something like 20 million on the lotto and was broke and back on the dole a few years later. People like him who obtained their wealth by pure luck won't have the know-how to get rich again when the money is gone, whereas if someone like Donald Trump went broke tomorrow he would be able to get rich again because he would know exactly what to do and how to do it.

@@SEANPOL203 someone made an interesting comment on Count Dacula's video about that English guy who won something like 20 million on the lotto and was back on the dole again a few years later. Someone like him who obtained their wealth through pure luck will have hardly any chance of ever getting rich again once the money inevitably runs out, because they won't have the know-how. Whereas if someone like Donald Trump went broke tomorrow he would be able to get rich again because he would know exactly what to do and how to do it.

Thank you for a great message and reminder that it’s day by day and step by step decisions and actions that will ultimately bring about change. The analogy of the mountain climb I thought was great as at the time of walking up a mountain you don’t notice how far you are really getting and then you are there at the top and realise how far you’ve come. Thanks again as I struggle with wanting immediate perfect results and it’s just not how it works and so I give up.

Hey Phil - recently discovered your channel. Gambling has never really been an issue for me, yes i've lost some big amounts at times, but it's never taken a hold of my mind ie can't remember the last time i gambled. However, drinking has been an issue, but recently i've slowed that down. There is a business phrase - "If it can be measured, it can be measured". I started graphing my Standard Drinks on an Excel Spreadsheet, and I allocate an allowance on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays. Once you see the graph, it helps to see your progress when you slow down drinking. Sure sometimes I'll have a bottle of wine on a wednesday, but maybe i'll have a dry Friday.

My big addiction was casino gambling. I gave it up many years ago. HOWEVER, in the past three years I have on about five occasions bought scratch-offs. I had that urge the other day when I was in a gas station store, but resisted it. I felt good that I had that money to spend on something else at the store that day.

I admit, I didn't feel like going in the bookies today but I still went in, layed out about twenty quid, won about £15 and f*ckd off, at the end of the day its all about control, there's always tomorrow.
