Gotta say that Sprong has played so, so much better than some of the other players on the Wings. The lackluster performances of a number of Red Wings players have brought the comraderie to a screeching halt. It's like those who decided to not play to their potential did so right after the trade deadline and when Stevie Y had banked on not making significant changes --- claimed that the current roster was deep, but where was their DEEPNESS during the latest skid??? God help these Wings!!! LGRW!!!!

I’ve liked sprongs game this year, but right now if you made me choose between him and czarnik, I choose czarnik. Him or Fabbri I’d choose fabri for his more physical play style. Definitely Veleno over him. Copp might be the first guy I scratch honestly. Either way, missing sprong isn’t the reason we’re losing. Unfortunately, we lost our playoff buffer with that losing streak and now we’re in a stretch of games against teams that are just better. Doesn’t mean we cant win some, but it’s not surprising we’re losing either

So the problem is we have 3-4 bad defenseman..and the org seems to be saying some/more of the blame lies with our forwards than with our crummy defensemen. Idk i still think we should have traded for a D or bring up some guys and give them a shot. But they are prioritizing letting those guys shine in GR. Feels like this is the definition of insanity and that they are punting on this season

Patrick Kane has saved the Red Wings to even give them a chance. Raymond has been good, but has significant cold streaks. He (and even Seider) can still make mistakes that lead to transition chances that screw us. For how hot Debrincat started this year, he has had a terrible last half of the year. We desperately need another star player who can produce points. Check the stat sheets; we still struggle to have one, let alone two players at a point per game. How are we going to make the playoffs without another producer? Hoping that we continue to improve.

Maybe sprong is toxic in the locker room, maybe he wasn't happy about losing his #, maybe there's something that happened off the ice and outside the locker room that soured the wings towards him, remember sprong did get in trouble off the ice before, or maybe he has a bonus in his contract if he scores so many points this year, I really hope it's not that last one because that's dirty. Either way he's gonna be gone next year, no way a player is gonna want to sign when he's sitting in place for a lifetime ahl player who may be a different position at forward but who is not better than veleno or ras playing at center. It could be a message for all the other veterans who decided to drop off the earth with their effort post trade deadline, whatever the case it seems yzerman and lalonde are done with sprong.

Watching the Wings play this year, they just can't get the balance between offense and defense right. When they play well offensively, they have to score 4 or 5 goals in order to win because they give up a ton of goals. When they play well defensively, their offense is non-existent and can't score goals.

I'm losing faith in Yzerman and the whole organization. Benching a guy who is 5th in pts during this important stretch ? Collapsing because 1 guy is out and getting 0 pts in 7 games? Yzerman hired Lalonde who isn't working. His drafting overall has not panned out so far. Seider is underperforming. It's a hot take but I think Simon will be better. Would like to see Fed or Larionov get a chance at coach .

This team gets too into yhe weeds/details. Theyre over thinking. Sure, look at the tape and disciss defensive positioning, but 75% of their discussion should be about moving their feet, shooting the puck, winning battles, getting grimy goals, etc. Bench guys for not back checking and not SHOOTING or going to the net. All this talk and lingo is making guys pucker up and play tentative. If I hear any more buzz words in interviews im gonna puke. "Team game" is one phrase id be happy to never hear again. "Start on time" blah blah blah no shit we need to start on time. Guess what, we need to play the whole game too. Everyone quit thinking amd play hockey with some freaking fire in your belly. Someone throw some hits. We only check or show physicality when we play asshole teams like OTT or FLA. How about we come out and show a team whos boss with some swagger..or do we just not have the size for that?

Sprong 's defensive lapses are mostly mental, not physical, thus they can be fixed. Coverage errors and positional play can be improved with training. Three games in the press box should boost his concentration on that side of his game. cause we NEED another high percentage shooter to improve goals for on high danger shots.

Something happened in the locker room. It is not only about defence. Lalonde threw Copp under the bus after last game. We are mixing lines in the last month of the season. Why no one question our coaching staff? Almost one month ago we were asking for more ice time for Sprong and now he is scratched. It is "easier" to coach a team out of the playoff race because expectations are low and egos are more off the table. A good coaching staff show their talent when they have to manage with internal pressure for the playoffs.
