I'm still bitter about how Apollo Justice was supposed to be exactly what this was and instead what we got was Phoenix being shoehorned back as the main protagonist and because of the change of writers, Apollo's story is kind of all over the place. I hope if this does happen, Capcom would allow Athena to just make her own stories with her own cast of characters.

Yes please gumshoe is my favorite, the only thing that makes me feel good about him not being in the second trillogy (besides a flash back) was that in his last appearance, investigation 2, he finally got a raise, which made me happy

I think they would stick to the same formula as SOJ just giving wright the minor number of cases. Come on we all can see how beautifully it was used in trials and tribulations. It just depends on how the team pulls off this.

I started the Ace Attorney Trilogy a couple days back because it's on Game Pass and curiosity got the better of me. As it turns out, I beat the first game in 3 days, spending pretty much all day from the 24th to the 26th playing Ace Attorney, and the only reason I was able to is because the plague's been running through my family and I couldn't travel for Christmas. I did play Ghost Trick earlier this year and I wondered back then if Ace Attorney had that same flare, but I just didn't check them out until now and I realize now that I shouldn't have missed out on this fever dream of a series for so long. Just like Ghost Trick, I don't really have a clue what's happening with the story, partially because I'm too dense to get Ace Attorney half the time and partially because it feels like the previous day of each trial becomes immediately irrelevant for the next day because of SOME reason, but the characters are just so great that it works. Phoenix is a great mashup between silent protag and actual character, I absolutely see why everyone loves Maya and I can't help but agree, Edgeworth reminds me of Akechi from Persona 5 if he actually followed the law and didn't murder several people (aka rival who absolutely loathes you but also says you're his best friend), I absolutely hate most of the witnesses and the fact that Shu Takumi could write so many characters to be uniquely hateable is astounding, and there's a ton of others I know I forgot. Honestly, the main reason I want to continue with the original trilogy at the very least is to just see more of these characters and see the newer ones everyone loves, words can't express how much I want to meet Godot. Is it perfect? No, I think I prefer Ghost Trick if not simply because it feels more game-y to me personally, but the trial sections are a ton of fun and as long as those are the main focus I'll be happy, provided the writing stays up to snuff and I have no reason to believe it won't. I dunno if I'll play the Apollo Justice trilogy at this point, depends how much I enjoy Justice for All and Trials and Tribulations, but I imagine it'll be at worst a game I buy on sale because man is the base trilogy way surpassing my expectations.

@SliminBlue I highly recommend The Great Ace Attorney Chronicle ! This is Shu Takumi's latest work and compared to the Phoenix Wright trilogy all the characters are exceptional. Whether it's the main ones or the secondary ones and the witnesses. And the trials are almost all connected in one way or another.

If I recall, the November 2019 leaks (the ones where we found out about TGAA and went mad over Herlock Sholmes), also revealed they planned development for an AA7 to release around 2021-2022, with Apollo Justice Trilogy "to cover any market gaps". So... there's still hope?

I have a story. I don't know if there's enough space in one comment, so I'll divide it into parts just in case. Sometime in the fall of 2020, I came across screams of videos made in "objection lol" in the recommendations, but later I liked the genre "Ace Attorney x Among Us". I watched such videos for quite a long time and did not know about the existence of this game, but I found the walkthrough "Ace Attorney" on KZbin and decided to see "how good it is" (I'm a little sorry, because in the end I spoilered the first two cases, and the rest of the cases went through on my own). My sister and I decided to go through these three games. It was very fun and interesting (and I remember perfectly well about "Larry's love letter" how we fell off our chairs laughing). I finished the game sometime in February 2021, and my favorite game is considered to be "T&T", since shortly before the credits I really liked the quote by Phoenix Wright... 1

I was playing with the Russian translation, and the quote is very large, so I'll just copy and paste it here straight from my profile (let's just say I left this quote as a keepsake (and only this one, but also some others)), but this quote can be found when Phoenix and his friends find a family photo The Fey clan: «Любое живое существо готов защищать себя силой - и в этом нет ничего необычного. There was no Russian localization for the Miles Edgeworth games, but even in such situations I used one interesting application in order to somehow understand the essence of what was happening, and not randomly select evidence. I really liked the separate story of Miles Edgeworth and, in principle, his character (or maybe almost identical, since lately I have become gloomy, even my parents asked me about this, but I could not give a clear answer. I do not know). The finale of the second game about Miles was also impressive, as the purpose of the lawyer and prosecutor's work was clearly stated. And the desire to become a prosecutor was also involved in the popular stereotype in my country that all prosecutors are corrupt. And I also have a desire to go to Moscow, because I believe that everything evil in our country is located there. Will I become a celebrity? Will I break this stereotype about prosecutors? Honestly I don’t care who we play as I just want a good game. It can be all Phoenix, all Athena, both, meh. Just be amazing to make the long wait worth it But an Athena game with Phoenix for some cases is probably the best idea

I think it would make sense that the 7th game should be an all Athena-based game. She barely got the spotlight in Dual Destines, her debut game, and while she got some more in Spirit of Justice,, it still wasn't enough. AA7 should be Athena Cykes' game and have her interact more with Ema, Maya, and bring back Franziska as a prosecutor for a case, or maybe have her go against the strongest waifu of them all: Miles Edgeworth.

Phoenix is my favorite but when I replay the first trilogy I honestly miss getting to swap to Apollo and Athena as well. At this point? Probably nowhere, sadly. It is kinda like with Megaman, it seems like Capcom largely jumped ship and cares more about keeping the existing content available rather than making new stuff.(Which in itself is fine enough tbh) Also, it will probably be hard to even make a proper follow up because they really jumped the gun here. There really should have been 9 numbered titles(In japanese, they are just called "Turnabout Trial" with a number attached to them. Even the collections are called the "123" and "456"-collections) and not 6. But well, they always kinda rushed these games from the start(Funny JFA being done in just a few months), which led to AJ being undercooked and hated in japan, so they re-rebooted with DD and suddenly nothing is cohesive anymore. It's much too late now, but it really makes me wonder about the alternate good timeline where we legit just got an Apollo Justice-trilogy and THEN made DD and SoJ into a third trilogy with no characterization being reset and no pretending AJ never happened.

I personally would just like a reset at this point. A soft reboot. AKA, what Apollo Justice was originally *supposed* to be. What the creator originally wanted. Make a new lawyer in the same world, with some characters crossing over and making appearances. Something that the hardcore fans can appreciate, but also something that the newer fans can play without all the baggage and character development-flanderization-development, and the lore and such. The Apollo Jusitce Trilogy did some questionable things, and even if a new game fixes them, it can't change what already happened. So we might need a soft reboot. The Great Ace Attorney shows that you don't need Phoenix or Edgeworth or anything for a great AA game

It's coming. Their cooking, and they're probably working their best to get proper translations done for it as well for a worldwide release, since a big part of the games is on the puns and jokes. I only hope they also include a Spanish translation as well, since I know the upcoming trilogy isn't getting one.

i would love it so much if we got another game always been a huge fan of the games as is (also kinda wish irl court would work the same as the games but sadly not the case but wish it did work that way tho) also i know will probably never get this but apollo justice anime when they did this with phoenix wright why cant they do this with apollo justice as well just saying and as far as my favorite game as of currently its honestly a 3 way tie between spirit of justice , the great ace attorney, and ace attorney investigations 1&2 (just bundled up that last one as is) and as far as sound track goes this is also 3 way tie between a sound track from spirit of justice aka court revolution gather beneath the flag from spirit of justice, the reminiscence theme an ashen walts from great ace attorney, and the confess the truth scene from ace attorney investigations 2 which ik this are weird picks more then likely (idk everyones taste in ace attorney music) but for me theirs just something about these 3 specific sound tracks that does hit me more in a good way then some other sound tracks for ace attorney as is also as far as gaming wise what id like to see maybe a follow up on stuff after spirit of justice with a certain thing that was brought up at the end of spirit of justice regarding apollo and trucy (ik this info has been out for quite a long time but didnt want to give too much of a spoiler for anyone just starting the games as is)

If they choose not to do an Athena Cykes game, I wonder if it'd be a good idea to try releasing some DLC cases via the Apollo Justice trilogy. The stakes can be lower, they won't have to worry so much about having some larger over arching story or character progression. Instead, they can just do some cases like Time Traveler, Rise from the Ashes, and Reclaimed, stand alone mini stories that take place in the world with the characters. Wouldn't be a bad way to start drumming up more interest in the series.

My favorite Ace Attorney is honestly still Ace Attorney 1. I think the story is still the most well paced of all the Ace Attorneys. The smaller cast means each major character plays a part. It took itself more seriously than future games would, as the series embraced its comedic side more and more as it went on. Edgeworth's arc is still one of the most satisfying in the entire series. I think other games have had better individual cases, but taken as a collective whole, Ace Attorney 1 has the most satisfying overarching story, IMO. My biggest problem with the more modern Ace Attorney games is that they've gotten more and more overwritten. When I compare games like Great Ace Attorney 2 with Ace Attorney 1, it's night and day how much more tightly written and concise AA1 is. So, my biggest hope for AA7 is that it dials back a bit.

I wouldn't mind a dial back for a future AA game, but I don't mind the bizzare cast that we do have. At least if it was for Athena Cykes, I don't mind her having a base roster of Simon being the main Prosecutor and maybe bring back old faces like Franziska so it could be a female attorney vs a female prosecutor. Plus, it would be nice to see what the Von Karma has been doing recently since she should be the same age as Maya and Ema by SoJ.

Yeah I dont think Athena is the best choice for a new game. Dont gwt me wrong i dont dislike her but shes just there she doesn't have the same oomph that Phoenix and Apollo have and the cases involving her were mid at best. If anything capcom should play it safe and have Phoenix as protagonist with athena at his side and Apollo doing his thing in kurain.
