I feel very fortunate with my situation. Soon after getting G licensed, I got hired to replace a guard that the company has been wanting to let go of for awhile but couldn't because of lack of g officers. They offered me a good starting wage and seemed like a good company so I went for it. From what the client, employees, and general public have said; this guard was a nightmare. Unprofessional, rude to patrons, didn't wear a proper uniform, and made everyone generally uncomfortable. Now, it's just me and another former state trooper running the posts and the company and client couldn't be more satisfied. I got into this business because I genuinely like to help people and with my extensive customer service background I knew I'd be a good S/O. It's officers like the one I replaced that give us a bad look and it seems there are a lot of officers that act the same way unfortunately. Not a lot of us actually care and/or train. Regardless, I'd much rather my team be 2 good, squared away officers than 4 sloppy, unprofessional, and rude officers. I know you're primarily based out of Polk but if you ever need officers in Pinellas/Tampa, I still have some open availability left.

This is an industry wide issue. I’m in Maryland and Virginia going through the same thing. Everyone wants to get paid top money, but don’t want to work or they’re terrible at their jobs, out of uniform, sleep, stealing etc. They also don’t ready the job announcement requirements. I specifically state that you have to own a firearm and have your own gear. I keep getting people that apply without the proper requirements. As a business owner it’s frustrating but we got to keeping pushing. Be strong hang in there keep pushing. Keep weeding out the lazy and unqualified ones from applicant pool.

The problem I see is they work the site one time & say fuk this job OR vanish
@fredcolon23417 ай бұрын
You can give them top money and they still wouldn't be worth it, today you may get one out of three that is about the security job, It not like it was back in the day when a person who works security would work a lot of hours and look for more, stay safe and don't where your self out..

I think it's a generational thing. The majority of the current worker pool isn't super interested in working at all. I work with truck drivers and mechanics - finding drivers, mechanics, and general staff across the board is a challenge for all the people I work with. You can do it, keep working on your staffing, find the right people, pay them well (or find what they want to keep them happy - sometimes it's just having extra days off or other non-monetary things), and keep pushing forward.

I live in Florida. It’s rough. I had a guy come in for interview with only a D license and wanted $30 an hour!! One of the problems is that in most areas the cost of living is so high that $15 an hour won’t cut it. But, on the flip side, they should already know that they won’t be making $30 an hour as a D licensed entry level security officer.

Im glad your back and grinding on! A lot to break down in this video my brother first I think every industry is struggling to get good people everywhere every single place I see it in Security I see it in nursing and I hear about it from others although I don’t work in others. I would schedule multiple interviews at one time if possible or it sounds like you have them come to the property when you’re already working a property which is good so this way if they don’t show up you’re not wasting your time, so that’s awesome. I like that. I see a lot of companies doing this not discussing pay until the interview I can tell you right now I don’t know how competitive your pay is but most companies that do that on your pay I see it with nursing and I see it with security every time the company did not want to discuss pay beforehand even a generalized hey 15 to 20 an hour based on your experience something Something if they want to discuss pay at all before the interview usually I feel like they were lowballing me or definitely on the lower end so the people you’re inviting to interviews can you feel the same way like why go there they’re going to just get lowballed so they might set up the interview with good intentions And then later on change their minds, or they might have other companies actually give them a a range, and they rather go interview with someone they know what the salary range is then go “waste their time” with a interview they are expecting to get lowballed at. This is my two cents. This is how I see things. Sorry if it’s confusing voice to text.

Working those long weeks are definitely hard. I urge you to take care of yourself. Make sure you’re not hitting the energy drinks too hard. Make sure you’re eating healthy. Make sure you’re getting your steps in working out as best you can even if it’s at a post take care of yourself try to get sleep when you can prioritize that Working. Those long hours is hard are used to do 100 to 110 hours a week for about six months and I was physically exhausted constantly getting sick put on a lot of weight and was not in emotional control like I usually am. Make sure you’re taking some vitamin D3 everyone is short in it but Night Shift workers even more. Not seeing your family absolutely sucks and I can relate. I’m married and I have a 4 year old and I don’t know if you remember I’m a travel nurse also, I go sometimes weeks without seeing my family the biggest thing I could tell you is just take care of yourself stay on top your fitness and stay on top of your nutrition stay on top of your health get sleep when you can. Find we used to spend time with them when you can and if you can FaceTime them at work call them at work do you? Can you keep that connection alive. For KZbin I will take some time just make some shorts and schedule them in the future. I don’t know if you know how to do that it’s pretty easy that’s what I do. I have one or two videos just automatically released every day for the next like year, I have scheduled. And then if I have things that keep my interest in the moment or something I’m doing that I want to post then I post on top of that so stop and think about the train stay on top of KZbin because once you get inconsistent posting on KZbin, it’s going to hurt your views and new subscribers so try to stay consistent even if they’re short even if they’re shorts. I will pray for you and your family. Keep grinding. Keep pushing we all go through our cycles of hard times. Sounds like you’re doing good and pushing through good luck brother I look forward to more of your videos.

Issue in upstate NY is the security industry is saturated with company’s that treat there workers like a body and just a #. Company’s want professional security officers but don’t wanna pay. Just to keep an armed license in NY can run you about $300 a year not including ammo or additional range time. 99% of company’s in NY don’t provide armed guards with any gear. it’s all at the expense of the guard. My gear I wear on the job is roughly over $2,000 and company’s wanna pay $20-$25 an hour no benefits. Some Company’s will 1099 you as an independent contractor.

Aye Commander Hall, I understand the situation but please, don’t neglect your health for the company. You can’t have a company if you not around to run it. Again, I get it, especially since you own the company you need to hold it down, but your family needs you. Your life is far more valuable than you know.

Love your videos. got a couple of ideas for you. Finding good quality help is always hard to find. Looking for full time workers for contract work is also very hard. Might be better off trying to split those full time shifts to part time shift Even if you could find someone for 3-4 days that will lighten the workload. Another thing you could do is temporarily subcontract that contract out until you find employees. Might lose a little money but you won’t lose that contract. Sounds like your company is taking off. Something that could help is hiring a Security Manager. Someone who is hard working that fills in on contracts where you don’t have guards. Gotta pay him good to buy his loyalty and work ethic. Set yourself apart maybe offer to pay for guard training or even provide them with equipment. stuff they can keep if they stay employed for a year. It’s all a tax wright off for the business

I hear ya! I haven’t had much time off because of workers calling out and I get called in. It’s ridiculous. Unfortunately, people resign or don’t take offers due to pay. It’s true. Even I do and have. I resigned from a school position recently because that one, the pay wasn’t good PLUS the guy didn’t have anything else during non school weeks and hours which means I loose money. Hate to be that person but got to be able to pay bills. So I understand but at same time, can put in a two week notice in order for you to find more people in time. Be safe and rest when you can.

I get a lot of “no shows” to interviews as well. One thing you can do Commander Hall is to report the “no shows” to the unemployment department of the state of Florida. People who collect unemployment insurance have to go to job interviews. If they don’t show up to scheduled interviews the unemployment department wants to hear about it. I hope you get qualified help soon. The real Commander Hall who appreciate it.The Real Commander Hall? You know, the wife.

I did the math on my pay when I was doing the same thing and the total contract amount and the only thing that worked for me is paying more. If you hire 2 pt at 19.00 per hr or 1 full time at 18.00 per hr is it something you can afford and still make a profit so you have more time at home with the family? If you want we can break down numbers and even come up with a game plan to help just hit me up anytime
