I can only speak as a security officer. Loss Prevention and security are 2 different areas with different jobs. I've worked security for close to 20 years with 3 different companies. None of the companies allowed security officers to get physically involved unless our life or anothers was in danger. Security officers are not trained to fight. If we were taught to fight this would be a different situation. I agree that Security is considered a joke. But not to me. I'm proud to be a security officer. I I get incredibly mad when I see a security officer screwing around. This officer did her job according to her companies policy. As far as the LP I think it was incredibly unprofessional how he acted. It looked bad for the store.
