IMO, her stepdad killed her. One could even speculate that he was sexually abusing Monique, caused her pregnancy, and she threatened to tell, which is what set him off to murder her. The fact that her parents waited almost 2 years before filing a missing person report is outrageous! "She's not missing, she ran away"... wtf?! If you don't know where your child is, then she is, by definition: missing! Poor Monique. I feel so badly for her siblings, too. What a sad case.

Seemed more like the step-father drugged her and had someone else do the dead based on the boy's account of that morning, at least that's one of two theories I'd start off of. Either Monique died in her bedroom and someone carried her to the bathtub, or she crawled to the bathtub believing submerging in water would save her, which does happen in overdoses or poisons He then disposed of the body and staged the house. We had a case once something similar happened with the children. The mom had been given rat poison and each kid was taken seperately to say goodbye. It really tripped the jury up because one child said she spoke, another said she didn't, while the oldest said they believed she was already dead. Sad shit. I always wonder if these stupid fuckers have a handbook somewhere or something? I'd like to know more about the step-father. What state was this again?

The choir trip was a planned alibi. The boys that were home who said bye to her (regardless of response from her or not) is alibi she wasn’t dead when they left. She was probably mortally wounded and died while they went to McDonalds so if the body was found the T.O.D. Would be an alibi as well since he was seen driving with the boys. When they got back he left them in the car to clean up the mess and the body was probably in the bathroom. Then he left them for 2 days in a room to get rid of the body. I don’t think the oil drum was part of it unless it was left over from getting rid of the body. I think in those two days he transported the body far away and where only HE knows the exact location. I think the mom knew about what was going to happen and did nothing about it but I don’t think she knows where the body is. I think that was intentionally only something HE was privy to in case they ever did find her body.

And it's really sad because I believe she was dead in that bathroom, the dad sat her up to look "normal" and then told the boys to go say bye (through a crack in the door) because that would've been part of his alibi and if the police did get involved after she went missing the police would question the kids and they would say something like "she was fine when we left we said bye to her" and then of course the fishing trip is his alibi... so so so tragic 😔

The one thing that has stuck out to me is the fact that the mother and stepfather of Monique genuinely don't seem bothered by the fact that their daughter disappeared. I've seen mothers and fathers who do not have a good relationship with their child panic and are upset when their child has vanished or has died. The mum in this case is a biological mother of Monique. One would assume that she would do everything she could to ensure that her daughter was found.

They had it well rehearsed both parents should be slapped I think she left and the parents happy she did. they didn't want to deal with a difficult teenager questioning their Authority her leaving made things easier with one less mouth to feed. her disappearance gave him power and control over the other children fear tactic confirm that his threats where real. Also, it's clear That the mother still doesn't care about her "missing" daughter, the way she talked and avoided the press which normally it happens the opposite when a parent REALLY has a missing child! The parent wants to put the message out there in every way possible...for example, we have in Portugal a very famous case of a missing boy, Rui Pedro, who has gone missing for around 20 years if i remember well, and until this day, his mother shows up and speaks out as much as she can asking people not to forget her son and keep looking for him. For me, this is a normal behaviour, not saying that it's in God's hands and avoiding even remembering the subject!

So, he freaked out and did all that to cover what he did. Such as telling the boys to say goodbye through the door and locking them in a room. As for her mother I believe she knew what the stepfather was doing and it could go two ways from there. One she let him do that so she can keep the stepfather ( which sadly happens a lot) and two the mother was scared of the stepfather. But I am lending more on the first one. The boys need to remember the spot the step father took them to go “fishing “ because he was probably scoping out the area to dump her body in there. He definitely was raping her and that’s how she fell pregnant. Studies show that women who divorce abusive husbands usually tend to remarry another. They should have checked inside the drain of the bathtub for any evidence! They need to calculate how much fuel was in his truck to get a radius of how big an area he could have had to dump her body. Then I’d check all the bodies of water as he most likely dumped the barrel to sink. Why have they not looked into these areas?

Camille's Channel sure- Michele was 26 when she disappeared in 1994. She had one son (who I'll call J) at the time who was about 3 years old. Michele was somewhat estranged from the father, but J spent a good deal of time with his paternal grandparents. Michele was a blackjack dealer, but she wanted to move out of Bismarck and give J a better life. However, one day she dropped off J at the grandfather's place and went to go get her paycheck. Her paycheck was never picked up and she was never seen again. Authorities later found her car with a half-eaten sandwich and rock not native to the area inside of it. Allegedly, the grandfather killed Michele because he didn't want her to take J away from him. An investigation happened, but there wasn't enough evidence at the time to prove anything. J was raised by these grandparents, and still isn't entirely sure how he feels about his grandpa being the prime suspect. J recently named his daughter after Michele in her memory

Stephanie Beighle I don't think that's necessarily true... I don't doubt that her stepfather did it but you can't blame the police. They have no eyewitness accounts and no real evidence. And I know there are people who say they remember but any good defense lawyer can point out that with the amount of time that's passed and the rumors being around for long enough that people are simply remembering it wrong or even unknowingly fabricating evidence. And they have no physical evidence either. The cops can't really do much because of how long it took to report her disappearance.
@Lostinmyhead237 жыл бұрын
Stephanie Beighle well it's not the cops fault that they literally had no evidence to work with because her family took two years to report her missing. They can't really go off of speculation and any evidence of the murder if one did take place it would be long gone

The problem with this is that while you can recover true memories it's just as likely that you "recover" false memories. So it isn't reliable enough to hold up in court. Even if he did it and the memories were real it wouldn't help the authorities and he would most likely be traumatized by it. The reason our brains lock it away is to protect us, so in essence he would re-open that trauma and the father would still be free.

It's messed up that people have a say in those kinds of tests. And the fact that they refused it, it just makes people even more judgmental and it makes the case ten times sketchier
@autumnbailey3817 жыл бұрын
Lie detectors are also not admissible evidence in court because they aren't fully reliable. That's why the parents have a choice and can so no. This could have been a different story if someone had reported her missing when it happened but the lapse of nearly two years dissolved any actual evidence. Even if the police think they did it, even if they know they did it, without proper evidence that can be submitted to the court the DA is unable to prosecute. It's very sad and extremely unfortunate but at this point, without a confession, there's likely nothing that can be done.
@shaleemichelle7 жыл бұрын
Cindy DeCarli12005 The reason why you can refuse a lie detector test is because they're notoriously - nearly entirely - unreliable. So even if a person passes a test with flying colors, doesn't at all mean that they're not guilty. Lie detector tests aren't indicative of truth, despite their name, unfortunately. As someone else already mentioned, polygraph tests aren't admissible in court anyway so they're essentially useless. Police interrogations are far more reliable; and I think it's obvious from both the circumstancial evidence as well as the statements from the Step Father that he's guilty as sin.

The letters weren’t to make her mom feel better, that’s just what the dad told his daughter to get her to write the letter, the real reason he had the letters written was to fool the aunt who was asking a lot of questions so the parts could say see We received a letter from Monique and she said she is fine

This frustrated me. I want to cry, scream, shout. This was back in the 90s. How do thing like this keep happening? How do women remarry without a care in the world the type of man they bring near there children. Yeah sure there are times when you don’t know, but this man was verbally abusive already, should that have been more than enough?

Where Is Video Idea!! Hi Kendall!! You should do a video on 17 year old Brianna Maitland, she went missing in march of 2004 late after her shift at the black lantern inn, in Montgomery, Vermont. That's the last they ever saw of her. With your platform I believe you would help a lot!!🙏🏼🙏🏼

I mean I think Chuck killed Monique and it seems weird how the parents just ignore the fact Monique is missing and the brothers are giving details about monique and plus the dad locked them in the room so he could kill her that's why he said tell your sister goodbye the FBI of the investigaters need to look closer in to details I think Chuck is guilty he has to be no way he's not all those pregnancy test she was freaking out cuz Chuck raped her and she was scared she was pregnant bye he step dad

Could you please talk about Robert Bee from Pekin, IL? He's been missing for quite a while now, and the police think they found some of his clothes by a bridge nearby just recently. Despite literally everyone around here putting so much effort into trying to find him, his mom hasn't done a single thing which makes her the number one suspect. Since his stuff was found by the bridge leading out of town, I think you making a video on it would help spread the message so people elsewhere are aware of the situation, also. Hopefully you see this, and if so, thank you for your time 😊♥️

I think it's naive to say "her parents could still be innocent and she could still be out there and just have ran away" I mean, I know you're innocent until proven guilty but they clearly aren't. Idk, just too neutral
@rachelhartjes3137 жыл бұрын
NaomiNotNiomi. She has to say that...as of now they are still just allegations. But yes, sadly our justice system failed here miserably! To me and to most, it's pretty obvious what has happened here.
@Cantrelate19987 жыл бұрын
I don't think the justice system failed when they really didn't and don't have much to go on. No body, no blood (I think she was strangled), no witnesses apart from the boys testimonies but they were so little it's not even admissible in court, parents didn't report her missing until 2 years had passed by then there was nothing they could do. It's suspicion and speculation at this point. I agree that the justice system is extremely flawed but I think it's safe to say that there really wasn't much they could do concerning this case.
@boni21947 жыл бұрын
I agree. I know that there is no prof that he killed monique but what about the other stuff he has done like not reporting her missing or locking his kids in a room for 2 days. That is child neglect and he should be charged for that. Like the fact that he wasn't charged or convicted for anything pisses me off
@RuizKlan797 жыл бұрын
I don't think she believes that but she has to say that because she can get sued for slander. It would be even more of a tragedy if they got to play the victim and they got rich off of murdering her.

I honestly believe she's dead. If your child was missing you'd do EVERYTHING In your power to find them & never stop. The parents at the end sounded like they really didn't give a shit. The mum had guilt written all over her face & the nerves In her voice make me believe even more that she knows exactly what's happened to her daughter the freak!

I mean if you were missing and all these people were looking for you wouldn't you come out and be like "hey i'm alive, all is good." she's obviously the age now to be left alone, i think she's dead somewhere body decayed and just bones. these are military people, they've probably killed before. they know all the right things to do to kill someone and hide it like nothing happened.

Some people should just not be parents. They don’t even care about her enough to talk about her and the other daughter too. Kids always deserve a good environment to live in. If the brother is saying he saw something that looked like a drum then that’s something to search for. This story is just heartbreaking and really messed up.
