Crazy how relevant this clip is. People nowdays are so invested in claiming victimhood, constantly trying to blame others for their failings, and always taking what they have for granted without appreciating the privileges they enjoy. They'd rather complain about privileges they think they don't have.

That's very true, but it was like that when this was filmed. It was like that 25 years ago. 50 years ago. It's been like that just as bad as it is now.... if not worse.
@addictiontransfer3731
@addictiontransfer3731 Жыл бұрын
@@donarthiazi2443 the difference between now and 50 years ago, or even 30 years ago, is that the systemic racism and judicial prejudice actually played a part in most minorities lives. But today all the college kids at universities making safe spaces and segregated multicultural zones complaining about micro-aggressions and not adhereing to prefered pronouns, have very clearly never had to deal with what actual oppression looks like.. They've just been spoonfed this idea that every time there is any trace of inequality in their lives, any time they fail in any way, its cause must be racism, sexism, or some other form of prejudice. The only real class difference and consequent prejudice that happens to observable, traceable, and significant degrees in america right now, is between the rich and the poor. Its not based on race or sex. We're all eating the same shit-sandwich together. Yet some people blame other races and genders, while others look at the person struggling right beside them and realize the race/sex they were blaming is down in the dirt with them just as misereable as they are, and that wallowing in victimhood will never grant them success in life.

@@baptizednblood6813 The entire episode Tony is becoming more and more sick of people complaining about the percieved grievances of their people instead of being greatful for what they have and stoically dealing with their own shit. He asks Silvio "what prejudice have _you_ faced?" and Silvio brings up something his grandparents had to to deal with instead of himself, which proves tony's point. He's sick of people constantly trying to _out-victim_ eachother, which is what the crew is doing throughout the episode with the Native American's protesting Columbus and the guys fighting with them about it at (which is what preceded this conversation in the episode). In other words it sounds like _you_ missed the point smartass.

In its time it was accepted because the white colonists were mass murdering and openly discriminating against the Natives and the white descendants today want to brush aside and belittle those horrible acts. Whites need to be respectful like other races are to them.
