@@DannyGarrigan Well the OP video creator DOES have some of his DAD in him, as evidenced when he was explaining how his Dad died video. I reference the baby picture and the COMMENTS he made at that time about himself, pure narc behavior. Of coarse there is a difference between HEALTHY Narcissism and MALIGNANT narcs...so yes I do get that very much. Yet here is the thing, it is STILL narcissism. Where I am going with this is that THE PATH TO SELF DISCOVERY is a journey, and it is OBVIOUSLY ONE AWAY FROM CO-DEPENDENCE, so this video either intentionally skews that or just plain makes a mistake about such. I suppose it is good for business or some such (once again a narcissistic mindset IMO), yet I must add that it is VERY poor for truth/understandings sake. How anyone who is supposed to be an expert can either forget, or leave this out IS ASTOUNDING!

As a catholic there was NOTHING about self-protection. It was ALL about forgiving the sinner. Absolutely twisted us, and primed us for abuse and to quietly and self-blamingly submit to abuse! Meanwhile we’d be going to confession as little kids asking for forgiveness for feeling angry at the people exploiting, bullying and abusing us. Absolutely CRAZY!

Oh sweetheart, catholicism is a narcissistic cult. I was brought up into it and as I got older and actually read the Bible; The catholic religion does everything that GOD says not to do. Call no one father except for CHRIST. Do not worship idols, false saints. Mary is not to be worshipped. She was used as the birthing home for our Messiah JESUS. Catholics always try to impress GOD and you can't impress GOD. You worship and obey. GOD created sex between a married man and a married woman. Catholics think that they are impressing and pleasing GOD by abstaining; and then a great majority of priests rape little boys! Etc GOD calls us to be born again. Stay away from catholicism. They are deceived and look to deceive others.☺️

Great message, Kevin. I had to replace the phrase "self discovery" with "self improvement" as that felt more accurate for me. I realized in the past year that it has been my willingness to improve myself that got me in trouble with all the narcs in my life. Their "hoops" they wanted me to jump through were traps because I saw their "hoops" as my striving for self-improvement. Of course I always want to be better and do better. But I didn't see that I was looking from the lens of perfectionism, rather than accepting myself as is. Had I just allowed myself to be imperfect and stayed in awareness of my value, even with my imperfections, I wouldn't have chased their dangling carrot of "approval." I would have said, "Hey, if you don't value me as I am, you're not for me."

My wife got conned into a women's coaching program after buying into the lives of the founder. She had gone to her for some personal coaching initially. She invested nearly $10k and got nothing to show for it. Her coach expected her to work for free and bring in new coaching clients for her boss, not herself. Finally after going no contact with another abuser, she gained the insight to go no contact with that women's coach.

I quit therapy with a known psychologist after a year who was becoming guru-like and the way he talks about abused people telling them about their "sh¡tty" live and later saying that light workers signed a contract saying we will be abused when he's supposed to "heal" us. In that case; spending money in a therapy doesn't make sense if we have signed a contract for a miserable life before birth. I just couldn't stand his arrogance and incoherent speech. Suddenly I realized I didn't need that and I said it; they took it like an insult when I just said I didn't like the way he referred to victim of narcissistic abuse.

This is such an important video, thank you so much! I have been researching narcissism for many years and you are exactly right. Narcissists pray on people in therapy, 12 step groups and other self help and self discovery oriented activities. They both want to extract from what they perceive as vulnerable people but they also love the mask that doing therapy, 12 step etc provides. It's a total win win for them and very dangerous. And you are also so right, the healing process is really about self-acceptance and of couse that doesnnean we don't grow or course correct some behaviors at times, but rather fundamental acceptance of the gift we all are and have. Thank you again!

I been by myself for over 10 years after I was brave to get away from my x husband who was a Narcissist and got a divorce. I learned a lot about myself since I been single and I am healed . I know now that people have gain your trust instead of just giving it to others. I know where my worth is and values. My peace comes from God. I been to celebrate recovery and other groups I went to at my church that has helped me. Jesus is our hope

This is constantly why I say "I don't trust." No matter who it is. They will betray me, they will let me down. I can only trust myself.

Very thankful for you man. You're one that reminds me that all hope and humanity isn't lost every time I listen to you. So many flashbacks are happening just from watching this. This is why I need to hear this but hate it at the same time. It was stressful and exhausting enough from the first round, ya know? See you soon 🙂

I just started to watch him today and I just love ❤️ him. I wish I knew him a couple years ago, it would have saved me a lot of pain and heartache. Nobody educated us on these Live saving subjects. We were to find them on our own and in the hard way. May God give you good health to continue to educate the younger generations.❤❤❤

Narcissists go after people who have issues asserting themselves and their boundaries. Work on yourself. So you can run them off by simply being you.

In defense of the "reprogramming your subconscious "... you are probably referencing hypnotherapy. I am studying that to help people heal. I have seen one and it helped me tremendously. So ????

So true! We think we can pull others (narcissists) up but too many people know our heart and WILL use us if we allow them too. In the process we lose our strength and give too much. Strong boundaries are essential.

This video spoke a lot to me, I always exaggerated what I am not good at to others so that I overlook what's good into me. Definitely this video will take me towards self acceptance which I always struggled with. Thank you Kevin for opening eyes.

And we can spot exactly the moment their horrible personality envelops us in that icky way they have. Yet I've gone along with it in the past. Now i have a list of phrases I use to get away from them, doesn't even matter if they know you're lying. In fact thats a good thing, as then they KNOW you're onto them and you won't be tailing along

I am setting boundaries now. Too bad for him if he doesn't like it. I know who I am. It's not what he wants me to be although I did not set boundaries before. Who says I have to keep doing it. No one.

Go grey rock. Not silent treatment but boring. "That's nice." "Okay" "No". 'Sorry you feel that way." " I don't know." "Hmmm"."No" "Can't" " I gotta go!". " I'm too busy to talk about that."

I think if you have a strong sense of morals to guide your decisions, you can spend time discovering yourself. I've managed to do this since eliminating the narc relationships in my life 3 years ago. Understanding God's parameters for my life alongside knowing the red flags for narcissism has allowed me to do this while holding narcs at bay. It's lonely but worth it.

I already had self-acceptance by the time the narc got into my life, but I thought she was the one who needed a friend and some guidance, believing her victim stories about how everybody abandoned her in the past etc. I did not set boundaries because I overestimated her, thinking she was an adult and would just know what reasonable boundries were. It wasn't until our relationship crash&burned that I found out through videos like this one, that she is a covert narc. There were times she tried to change me, and I refused.

Myslimy o biednych dzieciach w Afryce, a częściej to nasza dusza umiera z głodu, opuszczenia i cierpienia. Dziękuję Ci, niech Bóg Ci błogosławi.

As a person who had a malignat narcissistic father and toxic mother this is what lead me to attract a malignant narc spouse whi acted just like my father i thank God im out i left that demon im out the way for God to deal with him he will reap what he sows i was vulnerable after my father died here comes another one. My parents especially my mother was verbally abuse towards me as a child and I felt no connection to my father growing up at all no relationship at all very dysfunctional growing up.

Amen. In my early 20s I was vulnerable, overly trusting, had low discernment and a need for belonging. Thank God I wasn't open to anything. But I went to parties, got drunk and needless to say was sexually exploited. Ended up married 27 yrs to a serial cheater with sociopathic, narcissist traits. Still married but finally my eyes are wide open.

I take it to ❤ about discovered self already, and protected from narcissistic, toxic abuse. I AM self discovery, knowing who I am solves the vulnerability problem, nobody tells me what to do or who I am and do not have to utter a syllable, because I KNOW who and what I am, it reminds me of Matthew 16:19.
