I hate that he still got away with it because The People's Court pays the judgements for you!! He should have not only been forced to pay it himself, but also be turned in for fraud! He needs to be held accountable for his actions because he's completely out of control.
@cosmo6180 Жыл бұрын
So if PC pays for the judgment, how come Harvey explained one time to a question a viewer had…Harvey said if I win and the person who lost, has 30 days to pay the judgment, and if they don’t pay, I can take them back to court, and the courts will garnish their checks etc, etc…so I am literally so confused 🫤
@sashabenoit1518 Жыл бұрын
@@cosmo6180 That's for when they are in an actual small claims court where the judgment is paid by the losing party. The People's Court is more like arbitration settling disputes between parties. They pay the judgements and give both parties a set amount for appearing on the show.. This is in trade for choosing to drop their case in small claims court and have their dispute settled by JM on TV broadcasting their personal business for entertainment and because the show makes money off of the views of their episode.
@sashabenoit1518 Жыл бұрын
@@cosmo6180 Also this is true for all of the court shows on TV, like Judge Judy, Divorce Court, ect.. And the questions asked to Harvey (a legal analyst and lawyer) are general legal questions, not about the show. But Harvey is a mess so I wouldn't trust everything he says because he's constantly contradicting himself and giving out misinformation.. So even tho what he said this time is right don't count on it always being accurate information..
@sashabenoit1518 Жыл бұрын
@@cosmo6180 That's also the benefit of going to The People's Court because you are guaranteed to be paid right away instead of potentially having to chase them down, waiting for payment. In actual court, it can be really hard collecting your judgment from someone who doesn't want to pay or doesn't have the money. It could take a lot of time, extra money, and more court dates.. getting a judgment against someone is just the beginning and in reality is just a piece of paper, the hard part is enforcing it!

@@godschild2412 I get why they do it, having their litigants dirty laundry aired out on TV for other people's entertainment and the show makes money off of the views.. BUT people like this guy, that is THIS aweful, just don't deserve it! I really wish they would put in a clause into their contract that has stipulations on the show paying out the judgements like, if you are found to be purposely and maliciously lying under oath to dodge responsibility, if you are found to have committed a crime involving the case, or if you are disrespectful and rude to the Judge and the court, especially if you get kicked out of court after receiving warnings and still continue with your behavior! The show should also hold the right to turn people in for illegal activity, like fraud. I think that would be a good way to hold these people accountable because when people like that don't have consequences for their actions, they will never learn and will keep acting like that and do it again to others! Also, it's just not real justice if they aren't responsible for their actions.. I'm sure the people who win their lawsuits are happy to have their money back but it most likely doesn't feel too good knowing the person that did them wrong basically got away with it by being paid from the show instead of them. And the worst part is, if anything these people are REWARDED for their bad actions because not only do they not have to pay for their mistakes, they actually get paid.. The show actually pays BOTH parties a few hundred dollars (I know on Judge Judy it's up to $500 now) for just appearing on the show!!
