Would you please answer the question that is posed in the video title. You are only addressing the issue of the "swing" in the thermostat settings. Often the swing can be adjusted down to one degree, even on a simple old thermostat, but what about the location?

@M.Wood Exactly - I initially thought the same. BUT, if you check Jamey’s posting under his video title, you will see he explains that fitting the master thermostat in the hall is old practice and that modern consensus is the thermostat should be located in the room you spend most time in - usually the living room/lounge.

Not in the industry but it absolutely baffles me why stats are in the hall?? Who lives in a hall? Put them in the living room. I changed ours to a wireless & it’s like living in a different place, also added a B E M to keep costs down, now that really is a good bit of kit, how about a video on them.

It is a sales pitch, he is trying to sell his services not give advice

I think the idea behind this video isnt so much a sales pitch its probably more promoting system efficiency which isnt a bad thing, but dont just go round swapping thermostats you wanna be looking at the fundamentals, size up your current radiators to make sure they are big enough to heat your rooms, size the boiler too, balance the radiators so that the whole system comes on together and heats the rooms at the same time, if its a combi boiler then adjust the flow temperature to the lowest temp you can bare ive had it before that 30° flow heated a house perfectly fine check that you are able to adjust the system load on your boiler settings things like pump speed and kw rating can be adjusted, make sure to have trvs selected at the correct temperature, the thermostat position on a system as tweaked as this almost doesnt matter If your house is over multiple floors then consider zoning each floor but make sure your system is always circulating enough radiators at any one time that it is satisfying the minimum output of the boiler to save the boiler from cycling, this is usually 3 or 4 radiators but that again will be down to correct balancing.
