When the podcast first came out, I was a depressed boy in college. I would have to watch a whole episode just to psych myself up to go get groceries. Now I'm living with my fiance in a big ol city and things have changed so much. Y'all were my friendship when I didn't have the energy to build my own. I don't watch as often as I did, but I still love pulling up one of these videos every once in a while cuz I'll always be part of the boys.

I wrote a paper back in high school about the “Kids these days” attitude. Eddy said it’s been going on forever and he’s right. Here is a quote attributed to Socrates, “The children now love luxury; they have bad manners, contempt for authority; they show disrespect for elders and love chatter in place of exercise. Children are now tyrants, not the servants of their households. They no longer rise when elders enter the room. They contradict their parents, chatter before company, gobble up dainties at the table, cross their legs, and tyrannize their teachers.”

In reference to the UFO comment: As someone with diagnosed anxiety. You can't fairly tell someone not to post some crazy stuff that's going on. You can choose as someone with anxiety to avoid things that trigger it, I actively do. But those things do always exist, and the world is crazy at times. Its impossible to just avoid it completely. I recommend to whoever commented that on eddy's UFO video to try new techniques to manage your anxiety and cope with it because you will inevitably hear difficult things, but with proper management I feel a lot better on a daily basis. I know that UFO stuff really can freak you out, but none of it is really confirmed and we just need to analyze it rationally as best as we can
@Maria_7453 жыл бұрын
I agree, by the time Eddy's video came out there were already a lot of news articles on it and the person either could have already coped with the news or avoided it by the title. Even if they didn't know they could just not watch the video. Personally space stuff freaks me out and I was fine watching Eddy's vid because I already heard the news and he approached it comedically.
@annethrax203 жыл бұрын
yep yep yep! as long as someone isn't going out of there way to make you uncomfortable your anxieties are your own and no one's fault
@thedestroyasystem3 жыл бұрын
Yeah, I feel like a lot of the people in the comments of that vid were taking it way too seriously. And obviously people can’t control if their anxiety is triggered, hell I know that as well as anyone. But they can choose not to be a dick about it. Eddy’s not the face of scientific discovery, he’s a dumb little guy exaggeratedly freaking out on camera about the government confirming ufos. And we love him for it. If someone is expecting serious content about anything, but especially about ufos, they’re just in the wrong place.
@cablekar3 жыл бұрын
This has brought me peace as I too struggle with severe anxiety, so if you anyone doesn't know "UFO" stands for "unidentified flying object" and, no kidding, that could mean ANYTHING flying in the sky that can't outright be identified. The most recent one released by the Navy I think that everyone was freaking out over turned out to be a glare on the camera.

I think the segment about the anxiety relating to projects is a sign of being a good and genuine person. You get so hung up on the fact that you can contribute a project to someones life that can inspire or help them in some way, that you want to make it perfect and use it as future benchmark for your own standards. I also feel the same when I step back from myself and realize there is so much I would not just like to achieve in life but to also just experience, absorb or take part in, a feeling that you have the ability to achieve great things and contribute to others lives but can only reconcile with the present.

For a brief period in the late 90s to mid 00s, multiple disks for PC games were the norm for one very big reason. DVD drives were still quite expensive. While you can fit 4.7GB of data on a DVD, CD-ROMs are limited to 700MB. Meaning in the later 00s when games were getting to be about 5-10GB when installed, people could use DVDs, but would usually sell it on either both CDs and DVDs, or just a CD release to ensure the game could be played by the largest majority. From the later 00s onwards, DVDs were standard and would remain so until the mid 2010s. Around 2013-2014 was when the shift to almost entirely digital distribution was finally completed and PC games on disk practically ceased to be sold.
