Combined inversions and suspensions and realised Csus4 was also Fsus2/C & Csus2 was Gsus4. The circular nature of music blows my mind 😨 😎👍

So the Melody note is allways the top note of the chord?

great question. while that's what i've shown. it's by no means the only solution. vocal harmonies often appear above the melody. keyboard parts typically voice this way.

you lost me at 8:00... you are changing the notes by step? those are not inversions. inversions are when you take a note of chord and drop it or up it by an octave.

i think you've misunderstood what i'm talking about. as we move from chord to chord, the voices within each chord move by 1.) not at at all, or 2.) a step. the result is we get inverted chords, but that's a by product. the intent is smooth voice leading. does this explanation help?
