I am making the most of my trip to Boston's North shore and eating my way around the best food the coast can offer. I visit Beverly, Tewksbury, and Danvers, plus I make a recipe using some local seafood.

Cioppino Recipe:
serves 2 plus a little for leftovers
1/2 fennel bulb chopped
1 onion chopped
3 cloves garlic
1 28oz can crushed tomatoes
2 bay leaves
1 pinch cayenne pepper
8 oz clam juice or seafood stock
1/2 cup white wine
4 littleneck clams
4 mussels
4 shrimp
1/2lb fish (I used cod)
lemon and toasted bread for garnish

I love cioppino. Never really spent a lot of time out in the ‘burbs in Boston. There are so many food places I miss in our Allston/Brookline bubble. Zaftig’s Deli, Anna’s Taqueria, Tavern in the Square, Hops & Scotch, Common Ground, White Horse Tavern, Garlic and Lemons. So many places have closed. I also crave Sunset Cantina on Comm Ave (sad the one we always went to off Harvard Ave closed) and Five Horses Tavern in Davis Square on the daily. There was a Kelly’s by our apartment that I think has since closed.
