Love what your doing fellas, I used to spend my days cleaning metal in our local recycling centre and go and weigh it in every friday to get our wages I used to love it that was nearly 30 year ago, i gave up work in December to look after the missus after working for the same company for 20 years and was starting to struggle a little with being out of work but watching your videos has made me start thinking of scrap again but it's a little struggle to find it ....any suggestions would be greatly appreciated...keep up the great work..

When I was working at our local scrap yard we used to just hit the copper bails with a hammer to get the shit off it then we used to cut the top of to get the limescale out of it then cut the brass fittings strait in the middle with a discy or grinder then hit the fittings with a hammer again to take um off then just cut the elements of the end of the top brass fittings

Can’t beat a copper tank. I hit mine with a sledge so it’s dented keep spinning it around hitting it then the foam will come away from the tank easier. ♻️♻️

Easier way of cleaning up copper immersion heaters is to lie them on the side and literally jump off the ground onto its side while holding onto the door of the van or something the insulation pops off far easier

I would hate to think how many of them copper tanks I have cleaned after working at a scrap yard for 20+ years best I I found to clean the lagging of is to use a big axe or hatchet and go round the top first then lay it down and just go down the length of the tank in 4 straight lines and and most of them will just pull of in 4 bits although some u will have to just get the lagging of in small bit like u did with that one hope that help’s great video by the way
