Thank you , it was quite informative. We will be relocating to Vancouver Island for the duration of our daughter’s stay at Royal Roads and then be on our way. I wonder what areas are best suited for a family on a budget and no intentions of staying longer than needed.

Airport is a bit further North across from Sidney, which is important when buying a house

This is so thorough - thank you! Regarding home break-ins, would you say they are more prevalent in houses as opposed to condos (I'm assuming there would be more people around in a condo building, making it more difficult for the criminals), or is there really no difference?
@bchomegroup4 жыл бұрын
Victoria is a very safe city, but if a condo is on the ground level of a condo downtown, I would get an alarm system, but generally everywhere is pretty safe here on the island.

Hi , around 3 years ago I was in this island and I discovered almost everywhere by driving the car around , I was living in fernwood , since I came back to europe every single day my brain has flash back to Victoria , the fresh weather and environment and mostly watching the Olympics mountains from James Bay Area , me and my wife are planning to go back somehow to live there again but Canadian rules are so complicated, I have my incomes from my investments , I wanted to buy the home there but It wasn’t possible because of not having Canadian ID , so what is the most smooth way to get there and live for European people ? Thanks for your information anyway 🙂

Sorry, just trying to understand. So for rent, where are cheap and safe neighborhoods in Victoria that would be good? Wonderful city.
@bchomegroup4 жыл бұрын
All neighbourhoods are fairly safe and there is some personal choice that comes into play...however I would say, you can not go wrong living in Langford.

Our dream lifestyle seems to be Sooke. In the woods but " near" a major city. My wife is an accountant and although she can work for many types of companies, let's pretend that she works for an asset management firm as she does in South Africa. Friends in Sooke tell us it's 50 mins to work downtown Vic from Sooke. Is that realistic? If you're familiar with Cape Town, we live in Hout Bay and my wife doesn't mind 45mins in traffic on the coast and through town to the waterfront. Would you comment on Sooke please?
@bchomegroup4 жыл бұрын
it all depends on traffic and what part of Sooke you live in, if there is no traffic and it is the main part of Sooke village, I would say that can be realistic.
