🐶 WOOF WOOF! The best way to move past something, is to just move past it. So here's a new video, a Where To Start for Marvel Comics! . Hope you all enjoy it, and feel free to share so we can get more people into the most recognisable comic brand in the world! If you like it, give it a thumbs up, and subscribe if you're new! . I just wanted to say a huge thank you to everyone who reached out in the last couple of days. It made me realise that there's more positivity than negativity, and that's what I need to focus on. Tomorrow is my day off, so I'll be replying to as many comments as possible. But honestly, thank you! My review of Marvels should be out next, but until then, stay Mad, Doggs! WOOF WOOF! 🐶

Astonishing X-Men is great. New X-Men is good too. But the current House of X/Power of X/ Dawn of X is a perfect place to start too. Not sure about them, give it a try, may just make you want to find out about the past stories. My Advice, never be too worried about just jumping into a book. Every book is some one's first. Don't let it discourage you from trying something that looks interesting to you.

I used to read quite a lot of Marvel Comics back in my local library before i started buying them physically, digitally and also adapted from prose novels. The first one I ever read was "Marvel Super-Heroes Secret Wars" (1984) and then after that a random selection from stand-alone series, crossover events, team-ups and non-canons/alternate universes. It's safe to say this was also my first cross-over event that was filled lot of beloved characters in one place and the first time Spider-Man got the Symbiote suit, which I got me hooked after watching the version from 90's Spider-Man animated series. I still own the prose novel version of Secret Wars (1984) as I still read this amazing story time and time again. Furthermore, usually or sometimes when I'm reading Marvel Comics I don't mind what orders I read it in because I can come back to them in later stage and read them again.

Re. Iron Man, if someone is starting with Brubaker's Cap, then I'd suggest Warren Ellis' Iron Man that came out at the same time. He only did the first 6 issues of the series, but the whole run works alongside the Cap series really well, especially when they get to Civil War.

If you’re just kinda dipping your toes in and you want a good self-contained story that doesn’t feel too committal, Spider-Man Life Story is fantastic. I still believe any beginner should read two first ever marvel comics. If you find any enjoyment from them they'll know they'll like anything else. Every comic is based of them and starting from the begining is always the best start. Aftrr that then you skip around and read to your fancy but those first two are a critical foundation.

I’ve read my fair share of comics and manga, but a couple years back when I was just reading manga like my hair off and even now reading house, paradise into your eternity. I agree with all your picks that I already read. I would also recommend MARVELS to introduce readers to the Marvel universe. Daredevil Man Without Fear is also highly recommended but as a Marvel book only, not as an introduction to the Marvel universe. My first Marvel comics were Iron Man Heroes Return #1 and Daredevil Guardian Devil. What would be your "classic Marvel" books recommendations? I would recommend Avengers Under Siege, Secret Wars, anything drawn by John Byrne, Thor by Walter Simonson and Daredevil by Frank Miller. I think the art and color are the first appeal for new readers as they flip through the book before reading it. Clear storytelling, compelling plot and script are close second.

as a person who is completely new to comics what is the best way to obtain these comics. Looking on amazon the hardcover for stuff like the Thor comics this youtuber recommended get really expensive I'm gonna guess because the hardcovers are all the comics from that series put together. Currently I'm looking for a cheaper way to get into comics and I want to know if the best way is to go to local comic stores and buy singular issues. Is it hard to find specific issues when looking in local comic stores? Is the easiest way to read comics to just shell out the money and let that hold you over for a while? Is amazon scamming people when asking for almost a hundred dollars to get a hardcover or is that normal? Never thought reading comics had this much of a learning curve
@MaddoggComics2 жыл бұрын
Don't worry, we all start somewhere! Personally, the cheapest way to read them would be subscribing to Marvel Unlimited, I did a review on the app if you wanted more information, but the cheapest way to own the books would be with the paperbacks, because Omnibuses and Hardcovers do naturally cost more. Hope this helps, I also did a Beginner's Guide To Comics if you want the pros/cons of the different formats :)
