Experience and knowing your ship are the most important things to remember. Getting at least one max base commander is also really important. Norman Scott is maxed out for me.

Its useless to get commanders at 16/4 16/3 is perfect , you dont need to spend that much ressources

Raising one commander to 16/4 allows the player to purchase universal commendations for 900,000 commander XP. That can help one to level up non-historical commanders (such as the Azure Lane ones) in the future.

Question I've always wondered about. Is the elite xp system just a broken feature. I know you can exchange it for gxp for doubloons I believe but the exchange rate looks insane and I never have so it continue to roll up

I bought one premium ship, the T61. Wanted Maximilian Von Spee as the commander. I started buying the commander crates. Started with the 10 crates. Didn't take me long to figure out I was getting screwed. I now own every commander available but one. Want to take a wild guess at the one commander I don't have. Yep, Maximilian Von Spee. They don't even try to hide what a money driven game this is.

Hey Aaron last Perla Azul using stig Ericson is an op 30 sec torp reload with smoke is a nasty dd who identifies as a cruiser😅😂 try it out it's super fun. Oh it also has 4x3 533mm torps on both sides. Not shared. 😅😂 1.8km detection 10.7km range 89knots. 11k damage❤

Togo is the only base commander worth leveling up all the way with correct inspirations he offers better not being spotted distance than my destroyer captain and a extra charge on consumables with fully packed

Buying the 3-pack commanders for silver is important when you get up a bit in level. That is the faster way to get all common commanders, since you don't get duplicates until you have all free commanders. Also getting at least one commander to legendary 4 (so you can buy him and get universal commendations)

Stupid question, probably. But once you pick the aspirations (2nd and 3rd Commander) are you just using their base trait or does legendary rank play a part as well? ie is an aspiration commander rank 10 better than a rank 5 etc

No it is just the base trait! and no worries man thats why we do these videos

So when you rank up, you'll notice your base trait gets better. For example, for Dewey (shown in the video here), his Base Trait (Torpedo Acquisition Range) at Rank Level 1/Legendary 0 is +0.4%. You'll notice it can go up to +8% at Rank 16/Legendary 4. So as you rank up, your base trait becomes stronger. Your inspirations work the same way. So let's say Dewey is your primary commander (it shouldn't be for the reasons mentioned in this video, but we'll use it as an example). When you reach Rank 7, you can add an inspiration (and another at rank 11). So let's say you choose Heihachiro as your first inspiration. His base trait (Cooldown Time for all Consumables) at Rank 1/Legendary 0 is -0.25%. If you choose him here, that -0.25% will apply to your main commander Dewey as well, on top of Dewey's base trait and other skills. When you rank up Heihachiro to Rank 16/Legendary 4, you can see his base trait goes to -5%. Now this -5% applies to Dewey as well. So yes, not only is it important to level up your base commander, it's important to level up your inspirations as well.
