Baguio area was very nice. It does have airport(flights direct to cebu and manila) Biggest thing for me was cooler climate. Mall was very nice. And not far drive to Angeles City. Baguio itself is a big tourist destination for locals. But you can venture outside of city a bit. Climate was so nice....I also love Pagudpud, Laoag areas.

Go check out Cavite Province. Close to rural and suburban area. They have everything there. Cavite province to me is like being in Texas. You are centralized. Bus, train and fly any destination from there. Close to Manila and Tagaytay City. Good Luck and be safe. I haven’t been to Angeles City, Pampanga . But I believe you will make the right decisions. Thank you for sharing your experiences and critiques about different popular city. Former US AirForce base now an International Airport is where you want to be in the 30 miles radius. You know what I mean…😊😅😮

Makati Greenbelt is nice…some parts of Makati are typical Manila. It’s rough. BGC is their top tier city in the country. Not much else is financially better off…Its the Philippines, people have to understand…compare it to what’s available not other countries. This can quickly become the Wild West…I haven’t found a spot yet. I recommend going to Baguio…Tagaytay isn’t bad. No matter where you go…you’re still in the Philippines…expect problems that you’re not used to.

Depends on your priorities. Nice place is Manila if you like convenient airports, etc. but most expensive. Dumaguete or Borocay if you like more relaxation but dont intend to travel much. Bacolod -Iloilo if you like eating. Tagaytay if you like cooler weather. There are always airport but will be more expensive due to connecting flights if you travel abroad. If you are always looking for excitement besides nature, you may get bored if you venture outside Manila.

Good video, and like you I went all over and have similar reviews as you largely. CDO is great as on the right side of Mindano, and uptown is close and a few degrees cooler. Mindanao had great women to date and for a relationship. Malaybaly is nice, but I like to be near transportation and it and Davao don't check that box although I like both. Butuan nice, but not much to do and transport. I'll try Dipolog and that general area next time, but all my travels I have CDO at the top. I love Makati and Cubao, but not for a newbie as you need to live there and learn the ropes.

Sorry mate, I can't offer you any suggestions on this one, you've been to more places over here than I have. But for some strange reason, I've always had a feeling that Bacolod might be the place for me long term. I've no idea why, I've never been there, I haven't heard any great reports about it but everytime I see it on the map or someone mentions it a little voice says to me "that's the place for you", strange but true! Anyway thanks for the shout out and the interview. Be lucky mate, wherever you end up 👍

I have the same requirements as you. In the PI, if you want reliable power and internet and all the conveniences, I think you need to be in a bigger city. Cebu, Makati, or BGC. Angeles City is one of the few exceptions of a smaller town that also checks the boxes. Suburbs of Manila are also an option. Caloocan to the north and Cavite to the south.

I'm in the same boat, trying to find a place that fits. I'm on my 7th location. Currently in CDO, just left Malaybalay. Malaybalay is OK, but could not find a rental that I liked. It also rains a lot there, and cloudy most of the time (depressing). CDO rentals seem to be either condos or gated communities (suburban).

Try Malaybalay above Cagayan De Oro. Its a Plato up in the mountains that is primarily farm country. Fuer xpats, less traffic, cooler temperatures at that elevation. It has a mall and all the usual amenities without the crouds... A little further inland is another Valincia, newer malls and a little more people. Everything is better organized and more spread out.... Plans for an airport are in the works, for now you can take an air conditioned buss ride to Cagayan De Oro's.. About and hour and a half.... Good luck.

I’m writing from Kanazawa Japan. Was in Tokyo just yesterday. You’ve touched on several important issues that in my opinion are make or break. Ah yes your first trip from NAIA heading downtown. If you aren’t shocked then you’re a real hard guy. At night it’s downright scary. Next let’s talk food. This is the 800 lb gorilla IMO. If you can’t access good food (especially beef) then that’s gonna grate on you. Good food in PH is at least as expensive as Japan but the quality is less. Next convenient access which means not taking multiple ferry trips getting to the airport. Proper pubs and bars are hard to come by outside of established expat areas. I don’t want to hang out in bars all the time but it sure is nice to get a decent steak or burger and a couple of draft beers, or maybe a Margarita and watch some sport on TV and chat with some of the expats. This narrows it down to just a few locations. Angeles would be number 1. There’s Cebu, Dumaguete, Subic and you mentioned a potential sleeper in Tagbilaran. I’ve only been to the port but it’s close to desirable Panglao (where I stayed) with its beaches and airport.

Brent. Please think about Roxas City. North of Iloilo. There is a fellow vlogger up there, That Philippines Life, I think. He just opened a bar on the beach. Canadian Beaver. I've not seen very many in depth videos of Roxas from a laid back perspective like yous. There may be a reason for that. I don't know. City,Airport, 0:02 and beach right there. Anyway, think about it and keep doing what you do. Safe travels. Peace.

I'm here in Baltimore, MD USA. Have been in the city for 35 years & I'm bored. I think the crime, the cost & the selfish money hungry attitudes plus watching a lot of Buddhist videos make me want to leave. Problem is I have to wait for my cat to "expire." I know. She's 20 but when she conks out, I'm out. I like your channel. I also have an addictive personality, short attention span. Probably could use an equalizing drug. Aost all Americans are on something. Money, stress, depression. I have always had my eyes on Philippines but now, I know it's slightly rough but I am thinking Thailand. I focused on Philippines because more English but now I am going to research Thailand. Yep, I like your videos. But, it's fun to research for the future.😸

OMG, my brain. She's 10. I might be stuck here another 10, total 20 if she is crazy old. More realistically, 5 more? She is my priority, obviously. I also thought Vietnam, Cambodia, Laos. I have time. Plus the f**ked up thing, I own a house & prefer to rent it out. That will keep part of my mind back here. I'm 60 so if Trump doesn't get in, I will get Social Security. If he wins, the world is in big trouble. He will work with Putin to take over Europe. Watch, after he destroys America.
