Beautiful love story. My husband of 23 years and I are from different countries too. He is English and I am Portuguese. We never had communication problems as I speak fluent English but we had logistic problems as we both had work careers in our home countries. And family. But we overcame all of those. There were a couple different reasons, perhaps coming from jealousy. The work environment back then was not in favour, more so the local staff causing a few issues for no reason at all, I think because some like the drama... so this affected us badly, we were told we weren't allowed to work together because of other people's opinions. We also had to deal with the online hate from a few jealous individuals who through some pretty nasty comments our way. This whole thing has taught us that it doesn't matter about outsiders opinion, if we believe something is right for us, then it only matters the opinion of Lahiru and I, and our close family and friends, who are very supportive ❤️

When you talk of the connection between sun and your mood, it reminds me of my mother and her visit to England. My mother is a real outdoor person and although she admired the beauty of England she couldn’t bear up sun getting disappeared in the overcast sky more often and longed to return to Sri Lanka after the brief visit. She feels fortunate to live in Sri Lanka which has sun throughout the year. Yes, for her sun has a great impact for her mood 😍

Hi Lucie, Hi Lahiru I love your story. It's a lovely story for me too, even though I'm not as young as you are. The language barrier is terrible for me because I'm French. I have to try to speak English as well as I can and learn Sinhalese too. There are a lot of misunderstandings that make us laugh after a few quarrels. I'm also living a real life among the locals in a small village. A lot of people don't understand or don't want to understand, but that's OK. On the other hand, Lahiru is a good man, but you have to realise that a lot of women go through relationships that unfortunately end badly, losing their dignity and often a lot of money. It's heartbreaking to see so many stray animals. Thank you for what you do. I have rescued lots of street cats when I lived in Portugal. I rescued my cat Russell from the streets in Portugal and brought him to the UK where I live now. He is my baby. I also support many animal charities ( mainly cat charities ) here in the UK and in the Middle East. I love all animals but I am a cat lover . You are amazing ! 😘😘😘😘😘😘😘

A very rare & unique love story This love story cannot be taken as good example because You are lucky as Lahiru is a good man. I have seen so many love stories where the man is not up to the standard of the woman in education & in money wise, & they end up in disaster as the man becomes abusive ,& shows his true colours, due to lack of education ,& low family background. Lucy you are truly blessed to get a good Sri Lankan husband , as all Sri Lankan husband's cannot be compared to Lahiru. In modern days many Sri Lankan marriages last only for one or 2 years.
