Well instead of of studying for my exam tomorrow I stumbled across your channel, and have spent the last few hours learning things that in no way will help me with my exam. But least on the plus side I have found a new favorite youtuber!

I'm 18 just finishing my second year of college. Currently saving to go to Australia on a working holiday in November. I'm so nervous because I'm quite quiet and shy but also very excited as I know I'll meet people out there and it will force me to come out of my shell. 👌🏼

If you going to Thailand and doing excursions it is expensive,if you plan on doing scuba diving like in koh tao,or alternatively you can just do snorkelling instead,but you will have to pay to gain access to national parks,and boat trips these costs all add up quite quickly and if you want to attend a full moon party check the dates of these events to plan your stay on koh phangan,plus the beaches are better there.

This is an excellent video. When I was a young person I was a backpacker. At 20 years old I got a working holiday visa for Australia and bought a ticket around the world. I was 29 years old when I managed to visit New Zealand. Now I have two children we can usually only travel in the busy and expensive school holidays. We mix time in pricey destinations with lower cost places. We loved it in Japan even the accommodation showed us a different culture. The Eiffel Tower impressed my daughter for hours and it looks even nice in the night time. We did a riverside walk over to it and I saw glimpses of the tower. My son loved going on a tiger safari in India. We had hail stones in Argentina, two earthquakes in Chile and booked out accommodation in Rio. Finally we found a place that have enough space for us. We had to wait hours to go to to the Christ Statue looking over Rio. We had been lucky to see Sugar Loaf Mountain more quickly.

@F-zero91maru I suggest a large backpack, a sleeping bag, travel pillow and lightweight backpackers mat for laying on. Take a small compass and map. Outdoor adventure shops have clothing that can be worn in layers. Take enough water and food.

@F-zero91maru In my backpacker days I had a one person tent that was very light to carry. Now we are a family and 4 person tent is really heavy. We went camping in Iceland with it . Good luck choosing the most suitable tent.

How do the vaccinations work while being bitten in Thailand ? What's the difference between getting it in UK or there ? :)
@weareglobaltravellers8 жыл бұрын
+Klaudia Babicz You should get the rabies jab here which is a pre-exposure jab, meaning the treatment is more simple and cheaper should you get bitten. The treatment was 3 post exposure jabs over i think the next 3 days (i can't remember exactly the time between the post exposure jabs - it could have been longer). The rabies pre-exposure allows you 24 hours to seek medical attention, which is great if you are in the middle of nowhere and can't get to hospital quick enough. Otherwise Rabies can be deadly so it's just not worth the risk!
@klaudiababicz48308 жыл бұрын
So if you get bitten you still need to seek medical attention.. What happens then? Thank you for your reply!
@weareglobaltravellers8 жыл бұрын
After i got bitten i went straight to the medical centre where i was cleaned up (blood) and administered the first of 3 post-bite injections :-)

If you plan your backpacking trip with ideas from Pinterest and by visiting blogger pages, you end up with the very same boring south east asia countries like Mollie and every other tourist on earth. I was always told backpacking should be about "seeing the world". The world is bigger than Cancun, Vietnam, Iceland and Australia. What about Kamtschatka in Russia, the Stans or PNG? Or if you like more comfort and safety: Nepal or Aethiopia? And about the booking everybody says: " I am so spontaneous, I never do that." But by saying that, they, and most likely Mollie as well, only mean, that they dont book from at home. Instead they book with the mobile on hostalworld 1 to 3 days ahead of arriving and than they go there by taxi from the airport. Not booking (and oldschool) means: arrive hitchhiking and then walk through a new city and ask for a free room "verbally" in the first place, that comes in sight. I once met a guy on the trip. He made fun of me because I had a guide book with me. "I would never follow a book. You end up at the touristic spots by doing this!" Was his comment. During the next days I saw him spending half of every day going through Pinterest/blogging pages on his mobile.... You dont even need language or negotiating skills or have to be streetwise anymore: Uber replaced that. The Internet killed the real backpacking.
