Which Audi Tune?🤔💨

Explaining a few differences and preferences of mine between the 034 Motorsport and Integrated Engineering B9 Audi Tunes on my 2019 Audi RS5 Sportback💨😁
Should apply to most B9/B9.5 Audi S4/S5 RS4/RS5 as the platforms are similar and share the same transmission.
S4 and S5’s have the 3.0L V6, Twin Scroll Single Turbo, Air to air intercooled.
RS4 & RS5’s have the 2.9L V6, Twin Turbo, water to air intercooled. Peak torque at 1350RPM
RS models so have slightly different gear ratios. Peak toque at 1900RPM

Your video is great, I daily drive my B9 RS5 coupe too, and I went with i.e. after watching 1000 KZbin videos, I couldn’t really get a consensus, so I just gave integrated engineering a shot. I’m also using an 034 high-pressure fuel pump piston upgrade kit. My question is, which one do you feel has more power when you want the power? I don’t believe you covered that. If you were racing two of your cars side-by-side, one with the 034 tune and one with the i.e. tune, which one would win? 0 to 60, quarter-mile, all the way?

Thanks! Good question I’m not honestly sure. I’d have to take it to the track and try both times on the same day and same conditions. I have ran both tunes at the track but at different times of the year so I can’t be sure. I did run my best time on 034, but it could have been because it was a colder day. I believe I ran11.0 on 034 and my best on IE was 11.1. I’d have to check my slips for exact #’s. But it’s pretty close.

Do you get any pops and crackles on 034 tune? (Stage 1) Running stock exhaust? I would like to tune my B9 but I’m on the fence. I don’t wanna lose my factory extended warranty. Thank you for the Useful information video. 👍

Yes you get the crackles in Sport or Dynamic just like stock. They just are not extended like they are on IE stage 2.

I have the IE on full bolt on b9 RS5 and I love it. However I’ve never tried 034 even though most of my suspension stuff is 034 except coilovers.

Good video. I've been holding off on a tune for my 18 RS5 coupe because of being conflicted on which option (so thanks for covering that) and also because it'd probably be wise to do cooling upgrades first. Heat exchanger at the least yea? Is that something you can speak on? Noticeable difference with tune and more heat or anything?

I had no noticeable heat issues on either stage 1/2 tune…I have both IE and 034. Cooling is really needed at stage3 or if you track it a lot. IE has a new air to air conversion that I just did and it fits perfect and is massive, not to mention the water weight of the old system gone

@@MarinneVI was looking into the air to air and 034 said it's not worth it because then you are just blocking the radiator with the IC and are back where you started. Cooler air but hotter coolant/engine. And at the cost of $2000. I'm not sure if you're familiar with the 18s having a rocker arm issue that if they get too hot (easily happens) the cylindrical bearings will fall out and it's a $13k repair. I'd rather spend money on protecting it than ever having to do that repair. I can do one or two pulls and the car temps are up over to like 230+ I did some spirited driving up a mountain recently and the tempts were over 250. It cools down fast usually but those temps are dangerous

@@MarinneV I do now see on 034s site all the precautionaey measures they take with heat. Looks somewhat comforting. Another reason to go with them as well.

​@Adam_A0 having the fmic in front of the radiator is not an issue. If it was, many cars with massive front mount intercooler would always overheat and it would be common knowledge to not do it.

Dude great video! Definitely helped lean towards 034 for my first tune. What do you think of APR's tunes? I hear they're the safest of the 3

if you do the math, APR actually has the best numbers at the wheels

@@cornfed2.0t99 if you look at the dyno charts for each company and look at the 91 or 93 octane with tq and hp at the wheels (i like to look at the wheel numbers because its what youre going to feel), and you do the math of measured tuned hp/tq (minus) measured oem hp/tq, it will show you which tune is actually getting the best numbers for what youre looking for. does that make sense?

So since you usually daily the stage 1 tune do you just deal with the check engine light? I have ie’s satge 2 on now but hate the drug out crackles.

I do switch back and forth a lot. From E85 to 93 every 3-4 months to clean out the system/injectors. Because E85 gunks up more. But also from Stage 1 to Stage 2. Sometimes I want the sound but most of the time I don’t. But yea I would just deal with it and keep checking the app every once in a while to make sure no other codes pop up. Cuz if a new check engine code pops up you won’t know since the light is on all the time.

So the IE tune can have a catalyst bank error, email them and it will be fixed immediately. I agree, IE crackle is way too much and they need a non pop/bang option. I have both and I prefer 034’s engine map and IE’s transmission tune. I am kind of waiting to see IE’s stage 3 numbers are.

Im on Stage1+ (stock downpipe) and i still get those codes. Maybe cause I took out all of the resonators but idk

On Stage 1 you get P0420 & P0430 for either tuner(034 & IE). Stage 2 should get rid of catalyst codes. But on IE would get P0172 & sometimes P0175 on any stage. I usually stay on Stage 1+, sometimes Stage 2+. If u get catalyst codes on stock downpipes you could possibly have a broken catalyst. My friend got codes and when he got downpipes he found that the stock converter catalyst was all broken inside. He showed me a video of him shaking it after he removed it and all inside was rattling and broken.

I got the same codes on E 85 too but they went away after a few days. I thought maybe it was because I might of got bad e 85 on the way to Colorado

I’m currently IE Carbon intake, IE turbo inlet, IE HPFP internals, Catless downpipes , IE Air to Air intercooler conversion on Stage 2+ E85. My biggest “issue” with IE is the shift points. They claim it’s for power band but I feel it shifts too early when in auto. I usually race in paddle mode.
