This is such a great video. So much good information. One other aspect to think about, for shorter settlements, is the amount of time it takes them to officially approve the loan. Some are super fast

I've been in the same situation... its not much fun. We were dropped by a famous youtube mortgage broker (they assessed us with one of the Directors then passed us to a low level credit analyst, who couldnt deal with our complexity) when buying our 3rd property. Our property was under contract and the broker working with suncorp said they could no longer help us 1week into a 2 week finance clause. We contacted CBA directly and had finance within a week. So couldn't agree more that turnaround time frame is critical!

Bendigo since 2007 for me great savings, service and had lend me money over the years which i paid in full over the years . Mid tier all the way for me. Big 4 never did it for me . Situation changed Cba helpful same with Bank Australia. Bendigo bank gone down

Currently trying to get a mortgage after saving almost $200k deposit for first IP. Struggling to get mortgage due to being in a de-facto relationship and my partner works on a casual basis whilst we are also in the process of applying for partner visa (I am the Citizen - purchasing house on my own). Understand the big 4 banks are best for first IP - but due to my situation likely I’ll have to go with Tier 1 or 2. Is that likely to affect my prospects with Big 4 in the future?

generally start with 1st tier banks then move to 2nd/3rd tier lenders. As 1st tier lenders have the tightest lending requirements

Feel indifferent about them as a lender. Would depend on the deal, rate , variable or fixed, interest only period, time frame they were offering as a lender for me to choose them over another lender
