🌼⏳ I LOVED The Night Guest. I even re-read it the next day! (And I don’t re-read books). For Icelandic last names, they will often have “son” or “dottir” at the end for… you guessed it, someone’s son or daughter. From the Google machine: “The suffix "-dóttir" is added to the father's name. For example, if a man named Einar Johansson has a daughter, the daughter's last name would be "Einarsdottir".” Once you see it you can never unsee it! 😂

We Used to Live Here - 4.75; Grave Yard Shift - 2.75; Monstrilio - 4.25; Mislaid in Parts Half-Known - 3.75; This is Where We Talk Things Out - 4.5; The Housemaid - 4.25; Flawless - 4; Bride - 5; Dracula Daily - 4.5; The Night Guest - 4.25; Bloom - 4. I highly recommend the Paladin's series by T. Kingfisher (that 3rd book! 😍👨‍❤‍👨) and the novella - Nothing but the Rain by Naomi Salman.🥀⏳

I loved The Night Guest so much. I had to reread that final chapter a few times but ....so good. I also love Elsie Silver! As an asexual aromantic girlie, her stuff doesn't ick me out like a lot of other people do. No idea why??? Well, at least not her Chestnut Springs and Rose Hill series. I read her first series about the horse farms and it was a bit...you can tell it's her first series lol. 🌻⏳

🌻⏳ I read all of Spy x Family this year. I agree about loving the characters but the story going nowhere sadly. I also just read other manga I ultimately enjoyed more this year. Love Wayward Children series- it got me out of a reading slump last year and I’m very excited to get a new one soon. I prefer the even books that explore the portal worlds so Mislaid in Parts Half Known was probably never going to be my favorite but I still enjoyed it. Love Heartstopper. Have you read Check Please by Ngozi Uzaku? And you made me want to go reread Dracula! I’m too busy right now but maybe I’ll get to it and Frankenstein next year. I’d like to do more rereads. Sorry for the word vomit. Thanks for another fun video!
