You cannot directly join CMP as it is the only corps in Indian Army that do not have their own officers. Officer can only get CMP posting on deputation

If you are thinking about promotion then no security force is for you. Don't bother about promotion, ranks and salary as govt will provide you everything acc. to your rank/ops/entry
