Dante got it mixed up; the Brawl for All was intended to get of Dr. Death Steve Williams and Bart Gunn shocked everyone by knocking out most of his opponents and winning the thing. The fight against Butterbean was a PUNISHMENT for winning, not a reward, and Bart never recovered. It was so arse-backwards that WWE had this potential genuine hard-ass character they could get behind and instead they decided to shit-can him instead.

The first, highly talked about, moment that people will go back to for proof that Vince has never cared about things that HE didn't want to see!

Glad you wrote that all out, saved me doing it lol. The Brawl For All was stupid. Why put your performers in genuine fights risking health/injury and just looking stupid. Bart Gunn should have been put over after his bad ass displays, put up in hardcore matches, maybe IC matches as a genuine badass. But because it upset the bloke Jim Ross was pulling for, he got destroyed by a professional boxer.

The Brawl for All is an interesting story. It was originally made for Dr. Death Steve Williams to win and go on to face Austin for the WWF Championship. But, he ended up losing in the second round to Gunn, who went on to win the whole thing. So, his punishment for pretty much messing up their plans was getting knocked the fuck out by Butterbean at Wrestlemania.

That match should have been for the right to use the name Steve Williams since Dr. Death is the reason Stone Cold was never able to use it even though it's his real name(I guess it's Dr. Death's real name too, I think, but still)!

@@RinJackson He isn't, that was a one and done. They have a heavier set guy named Preston Lacey now. Interestingly enough, Jake Paul pissed off Butterbean to the point where Butterbean announced he was coming out of retirement and apparently is in fairly decent shape. All for the chance to knock out Jake Paul... which sadly has already happened.... I think... EDIT: I stand corrected. Apparently he is considered part of the crew now based on a recent Family Feud episode.

@@Mboone1994 he was essentially a circus boxer fighting anyone and everyone within the official boxing league, but he really didn't challenge actual known boxers. He did rack up a fairly big streak of 77-10-4 during his career. He was known as the king of the 4 rounders.

He wasn't really competing against notable names, but he did rack up a fairly large record of 77-10-4. It would have been interesting to see him fight boxers in the heavyweight division.

Bart Gunn used to tag with Billy Gunn as the Smoking Gunns. The Brawl For All Tournament was made to showcase how strong Dr. Death Steve Williams was but Bart Gunn knocked him out and wound up winning the tournament. Since it was supposed to be a showcase for Dr. Death that would’ve set up a championship match with Stone Cold WWE (then WWF) punished him by having him agree to a boxing match. He was squashed by Butterbean. He also had a short stint in a tag team with Bob Holly (Hardcore Holly) as the New Midnight Express

Fun fact: The main event of WrestleMania XI featured former NFL linebacker Lawrence Taylor against Bam Bam Bigelow, a match which came as the result of an argument that took place between the two at the 1995 Royal Rumble. Taylor won the match, which led to Bigelow being kicked out of Ted DiBiase's Million Dollar Corporation.

Bart and Billy Gunn were The Smoking Gunns in the 90's WWF. They won the tag titles. When they split up, Bart tagged with Bob Holly as The New Midnight Express during the NWA/WWF crossover in the mid 90s. Bart was entered in the Brawl for All tournament, which was a shoot boxing tournament. After winning the tournament, his prize was a fight with Butterbean, a super heavyweight boxer, who knocked Bart out in like 15 seconds. Butterbean was also in the first Jackass movie, knocking out Johnny Knoxville in a department store.

I believe if I remember correctly, Freddie prince jr was never in a match. He was in a segment on raw with randy orton in like 09. He was officially hired as a producer/ writer for wwe in 2010 but that only lasted a year before he left the company
