That’s sort of why I chose a V6 GT to be my new daily driver. Last Alfa designed by Bertone and the last Alfa with a Busso engine. Plus it’s a great looking, practical car. Mine’s only done 80,000km as well so I hope to be able to put it away in the next couple of years to preserve it even more.

Recently picked up a '02 156 GTA for under A$10k - much less than half the price they normally go for here in Oz (if/when you can find one) in part because it was on interstate plates and needed to pass detailed engineering/mechanical/safety/compliance inspection (similar to MOT) to be registered in my home state. Far from perfect, but straight, extensive history, and all the "correct" upgrades (330mm Brembos, Q2, coilovers, strut bars, sway bars etc). After spending a couple of grand on correcting the items needed to pass inspection, I've got a very good daily for about half the usual market price. Now plan to gradually address the superficial items (paint chips on bonnet, headliner). Fantastic to drive, beautiful to look at, and only about 100 were ever sold in Australia, so its a keeper. Unless someone comes along and wants to swap it for a 3.0L Alfa 75 Potenziata ... But to underline the point of your video - I also sold my '99 156 2.5L Q-auto to make way for the GTA and got almost double what I paid for it five years ago. Though of course that excludes the money I spent on getting it to it's very tidy condition...

No, unfortunately nobody cares about them. Good cars though, always thought they filled the gap between the aged Alfa 147 and the Giulietta. They will just be scrap fodder. Chris, I’m thinking the RS5 4.2 naturally aspirated V8 which is now discontinued as of 2015 fits your 5 point formula. Hi Steven - yes good shout with the RS5. That Audi naturally aspirated V8 is one of the greats of the last 30 years in my opinion and beats BMW's V8 on almost every front.
