So far, Andean Abyss and A Distant Plain. Hankering to try Liberty or Death and Pendragon. Thanks for a great video.

Cuba Libre, although they're all great. I am particularly looking forward to People Power.

What a refreshing way to learn more about COIN Games; must have been complicated to edit! I hope you'll use this format in future videos. Thank you!

Thanks for the feedback. We've got one focused on Solo board games coming out tomorrow.

Wonderful, the recommendation was A Distant Plain .. the one COIN game I do not own (and which is currently out-of-print).

Lol. It was effective in finding your true need/joy

Well, the P500 is currently at 333, so we can't be that far from the fourth printing! And, I guess, there are also websites like eBay to check out as well, but I haven't looked recently

So what would anyone suggest for someone who started out with Cuba Libre and is looking for the next step (maybe a baby step) up? Maybe something as simple but on a bigger map.
@LegendaryTactics7 ай бұрын
Normally I would suggest Andean Abyss, but now there are some other "entry level" COIN games like People Power and the British Way

Great format! Choose your own adventure books were great, the Escape series in particular (Escape from the Kingdom of Frome, etc)

I remember those! Wow, that is a blast from the past! Thanks for commenting and watching!

@@LegendaryTactics I only had book 3 (Caverns of Mornas) in the Frome series and book 3 (Terror on Kabran) from the Tenopia series growing up, but got both complete series used now somewhere…either Amazon or eBay, don’t recall which!

These all look super interesting. I think I'll pick up Cuba Libre, the Franco Algerian war and the Afghan war. Have to say, the modern ones seem way more inspired. Nothing against Ancient Britain, Caesar in Gaul or the Revolutionary war, but those feel very much "been there, done that" Modern games that aren't set in WW2, now that's refreshing.
@LegendaryTactics3 жыл бұрын
The best part of the COIN Series is that it doesn't go over the same ground that has been covered in other games. Even the ones set in more ancient times are different and interesting.

@@LegendaryTactics I just preordered the China v Japan game that's hopefully coming out soon and Cuba Libre 4th Printing is was also looking for takers so I really hope people see this video and push it into a faster printing schedule. If given the chance I'll defiantly try the ancient games, but my collection is really hurting for actual history "in the 20th and 21st century that doesn't involve Nazis department" In any case, thanks for pointing these out. They completely flew under my radar even though they seem to be just my cup of tea.

'How many players will you likely be playing your COIN game with?' - No solo option :\
@LegendaryTactics3 жыл бұрын
That's because they can all be played solo!

Unique video! What about for solo play?
@LegendaryTactics5 ай бұрын
Well, all COIN games solo quite well, whether you control all factions or run the "bots". I personally like Andean Abyss solo, but that's mainly because the bot isn't too complicated to run.

I got stuck on the first question since I play COIN games solo only. :/
@LegendaryTactics Жыл бұрын
Ah darn it, you found the flaw in our setup. In that case, I recommend all of them (especially Andean Abyss - for some reason, I have played a ton of that game solo and still love it best!)

Good content, but watching this on TV was like watching Dragon's Lair on shuffle :D. I will need to watch it again on my laptop.

the idea is great... the problem is from the start this video is useless to me. what if i plan to play exclusively solo?
@LegendaryTactics Жыл бұрын
If that's the case, I would pick the theme that you enjoy most and go from there! Also, level of difficulty - there are larger ones like Fire in the Lake and Pendragon, and smaller ones like Cuba Libre and the British Way.

New to your channel and came here after watching a few of your solo videos. Really disappointed to see no option for solo at the start, yes for sure they can all be played solo. If I’d not seen any of your other videos I’d have been outta here. Worth an edit maybe 🤔- loved the solo vids btw

Excellent idea guys! I've tried a few in the series (Cuba Libre, A Distant Plain, Falling Sky, Liberty or Death) but ultimately gave the series a pass - I do prefer wargames with more randomness for resolution...
@LegendaryTactics3 жыл бұрын
Yes, there is room for Axis & Allies / Risk, and there is room for Diplomacy / COIN in the conflict resolution...
