The problem with Japan is that they never acknowledged their crimes like Germany did, and they never punished their war criminals to the extent that Germany did. They still venerate many war criminals -- something that would be unthinkable in Germany.
@mingrenwang51853 жыл бұрын
Japan has again and again acknowledged their war crimes. They have also again and again apologized to Chinese people for the evil they did in war. In 1972, the Japan prime minister apologized, in 1982 other Japan prime minister apologized, and several other times. Our CPC keeps telling us Japanese did not apologize because CPC want us to hate other countries and ignore evil in our own China. It is shame to lie to own people. Everlasting propaganda comes to Chinese people from our own government.
@@mingrenwang5185 Your reply is partisan and equivocal and it fails to warrant a serious rebuttal. Here is a copy-paste refutation instead. In summary, you are wrong. Demands for an apology and compensation have been a recurring topic in Korean, Taiwanese, and Chinese politics. Western nations are also demanding long overdue actions from the Japanese government, most notably through the United States House of Representatives House Resolution 121 voted in 2007. Criticisms regarding the degree and formality of apology, issued as a statement or delivered person-to-person to the country addressed, and the perception by some that some apologies are later retracted or contradicted by statements or actions of Japan, among others. In October 2006, Prime Minister Shinzō Abe's apology was followed on the same day by a group of 80 Japanese lawmakers' visit to the Yasukuni Shrine which enshrines more than 1,000 convicted war criminals.[58] Two years after the apology, Shinzo Abe also denied that the Imperial Japanese military had forced comfort women into sexual slavery during World War II.[59] In addition, Prime Minister Abe claimed that the Class A war criminals "are not war criminals under the laws of Japan".[60] He also cast doubt on Murayama apology by saying, "The Abe Cabinet is not necessarily keeping to it" and by questioning the definition used in the apology by saying, "There is no definitive answer either in academia or in the international community on what constitutes aggression. Things that happen between countries appear different depending on which side you're looking from."[61] In 2010, one comfort woman from Taiwan stated, "It's unacceptable that the Japanese government still refuses to apologize for what it did." Taiwanese President Ma Ying-jeou also declared, "It is the responsibility of the Japanese government to admit its mistakes and apologize ... The battle is not over yet and it is regretful that the Japanese government still refuses to face its mistakes."[62] As of 2010, 24% of South Koreans still believe that Japan has never apologized for its colonial rule, while another 58% believe Japan has not apologized sufficiently.[63] Some in the Japanese government have expressed exasperation at what level of apology is enough. During an impending visit in 1990 to Japan by South Korean president Roh Tae Woo Japanese cabinet secretary Ozawa Ichiro reportedly said, "it is because we have reflected on the past that we cooperate with [South] Korea economically. Is it really necessary to grovel on our hands and knees and prostrate ourselves any more than we already have?"[This quote needs a citation] In 2013, some of the right-wing population of Japan accused South Korea of hypocrisy, because Japan had apologized and provided compensation for the sexual slavery it perpetrated during World War II yet South Korea has failed to address the Lai Đại Hàn, sexual slavery South Korea perpetrated during the Vietnam War.[64] At the end of 2015, in response to the joint announcement by Japanese Foreign Minister Fumio Kishida and South Korean Foreign Minister Yun Byung-se to “finally and irreversibly” resolve the “comfort women” issue, some of the 46 remaining survivors expressed their discontent over the agreement. “It seems neither government cares about the victims. I don't count what they have agreed today. What we want is not monetary compensation but a legal one. We don’t want money. Those who commit crimes must take official, legal responsibility. I will fight until the day I die,” said survivor Lee Yong-soo. However, survivor Yu Hee-nam said, “I know the government has made efforts to resolve the issue within this year, so I’ll follow their decision.” But she also said the agreement was not satisfactory. "Money is not the issue. We've lived without human rights."[65]

@@mingrenwang5185 Shinzo Abe, 15 of the 18 members of his cabinet, and 289 of 480 Diet members are affiliated to the openly revisionist lobby Nippon Kaigi, which advocates the restoration of monarchy and State Shinto, negates Japanese war crimes, and recommends the revision of the Constitution and school textbooks as well as visits by Prime Ministers to the Shrine.[41][42] The chief priest of the shrine, Yasuhisa Tokugawa (also the great-grandson of Tokugawa Yoshinobu, the last shōgun), is a member of Nippon Kaigi's representative committee.[43] The views expressed by Yasukuni Shrine through its museum and website are also controversial. Both sites make it clear that Yasukuni Shrine does not regard the conduct of Japan during World War II as an act of aggression but rather a matter of self-defence and a heroic effort to repel European imperialism.

@@mingrenwang5185 Nanjing Massacre denial is the denial that Imperial Japanese forces murdered hundreds of thousands of Chinese soldiers and civilians in the city of Nanjing during the Second Sino-Japanese War, a highly controversial episode in Sino-Japanese relations. Some historians accept the findings of the Tokyo tribunal with respect to the scope and nature of the atrocities committed by the Imperial Japanese Army after the Battle of Nanking, while others do not. In Japan, however, there has been a debate over the extent and nature of the massacre. Relations between Japan and China have been complicated as a result, as denial of the massacre is seen in China as part of an overall unwillingness on Japan's part to admit and apologize for its aggression, or a perceived insensitivity regarding the killings.[1] Estimates of the death toll vary widely, ranging from 40,000 to 200,000.[2][3] Some scholars, notably revisionists in Japan, have contended that the actual death toll is far lower, or even that the event was entirely fabricated and never occurred at all.[4][5] These revisionist accounts of the killings have become a staple of Japanese nationalist discourse.[6] In Japan, interpretation of the Nanjing Massacre is a reflection upon the Japanese national identity and notions of "pride, honor and shame." Takashi Yoshida describes the Japanese debate over the Nanjing Incident as "crystalliz[ing] a much larger conflict over what should constitute the ideal perception of the nation: Japan, as a nation, acknowledges its past and apologizes for its wartime wrongdoings; or... stands firm against foreign pressures and teaches Japanese youth about the benevolent and courageous martyrs who fought a just war to save Asia from Western aggression."[10] In some nationalist circles in Japan, speaking of a large-scale massacre at Nanjing is regarded as "'Japan bashing' (in the case of foreigners) or 'self-flagellation' (in the case of Japanese)."[11]

On a people to people level, once people interact, then it is easy to see that friendships can be made. We should listen less to the governments and base our views on our own personal experiences. Presently, I live in Japan and travel throughout Asia. It breaks my heart when I hear people spouting off hate for other countries in the region. The Communist Party of China teaches Chinese children and students to judge others solely by history, and does not teach them how to respect others. It's following in the footsteps of all the previous Chinese dynasties that were wretchedly destroyed. In recent years, Chinese people have been ranting around the world, claiming that China has become a powerful country. But their minds still remain at the level of a weak country. China's tyranny is getting worse by the day. The more China and Chinese behave in that way, the sooner the American flag will fly in Tiananmen Square.

Hello ! May Allah protect and guide you to his light and happiness in this life and the hereafter, God bless, Ameen. Excuse me for giving a little presentation of Islam, because it is very misunderstood nowadays, especially on those « Antichrist's » times, where media and politics are mixed to distort history and truth. And terrorists (puppets of the Antichrist) who misinterpret verses, out of ignorance and political motivations, and take them out of historical context (just like radical atheists do by the way), don't help either. Thank you very much for your time. Islam is an arabic word that means the Surrender to the One and Only God, our Creator, Protector, Provider, who gives us life and all that we have, we are safe and sound by his will and grace, we are His and to Him we return, and we have to thank him in this trial life by submitting to him by our free will, or later in the Day of judgment when it's too late to save our own skin. Islam was the original Religion descended to earth from heaven with Adam and Eve (peace and blessing be upon them) in the beginning of humanity. and was passed to people with the succession of the 124 000 prophets and 315 messengers of God to all nations and civilizations since, passing by Noah, Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, Ismaël, Joseph, Moses, Aaron, Joshua, David, Solomon and Jesus (Peace and blessing be upon them) during the history of mankind, the last replaces and completes the previous, until the succession of the last messenger of God fourteen centuries ago, Muhammad (Peace and blessing be upon him) to complete the noble morals of all mankind, to bring humans and jinns out of darkness into light, and to purify people's religion and belief from corruption and polytheism, and return it to purity and true monotheism, like it was in the times of the prophets (Peace and blessing be upon them). Many Religions that we know nowadays, at their beginning were true and under Islam, initiated by one of the prophets of God, but their original teachings, history and scriptures have been corrupted over time with falsification and polytheism, or lost and replaced with false ones. That's why Islam is the only Religion accepted by God nowadays, which consists in bearing witness that there is no god besides Allah (God in Aramaic, the original language of Jesus and the Gospel), and that Muhammad is His servant and messenger, just like Jesus and Moses and others are His servants and messengers. Never a messenger of God said he was God or literally son of God, it was the people after him who changed the words of God and corrupted the Religion. God is unique and absolute, He does not need to have a family and sons or to associate anyone else with His kingdom, He can simply create whatever He wants, everything belongs to Him, and to Him everything will return. Allah said in Surah Al-Mu’minun : “God has never begotten a son, nor is there any god besides Him. Otherwise, each god would have taken away what it has created, and some of them would have gained supremacy over others. Glory be to God, far beyond what they describe. The Knower of the hidden and the manifest. He is exalted, far above what they associate. (91-92 / Translated by ITANI). Allah means the one and only God, the God of all prophets and creatures, the creator of the universe and mankind, and the Master of the Day of judgment, where our destiny, Hell or Paradise, is decided based on our faith and deeds in this trial life, and above all, Allah's mercy. Allah said in Surah Al-Ikhlas : In the name of God, the Gracious, the Merciful. Say, “He is God, the One. God, the Absolute. He begets not, nor was He begotten. And there is none comparable to Him.” (1-4 / Translated by ITANI). Allah said in Surah An-Nisa : O FOLLOWERS of the Gospel! Do not overstep the bounds [of truth] in your religious beliefs, and do not say of God anything but the truth. The Christ Jesus, son of Mary, was but God's Apostle - [the fulfilment of] His promise which He had conveyed unto Mary - and a soul created by Him. Believe, then, in God and His apostles, and do not say, "[God is] a trinity". Desist [from this assertion] for your own good. God is but One God; utterly remote is He, in His glory, from having a son: unto Him belongs all that is in the heavens and all that is on earth; and none is as worthy of trust as God. Never did the Christ feel too proud to be God's servant, nor do the angels who are near unto Him. And those who feel too proud to serve Him and glory in their arrogance [should know that on Judgment Day] He will gather them all unto Himself: (171-172 / Translated by Muhammad Asad). Allah the Most Merciful said in Surah Ali-Imran : Behold, the only [true] religion in the sight of God is [man's] self-surrender unto Him; and those who were vouchsafed revelation aforetime took, out of mutual jealousy, to divergent views [on this point] only after knowledge [thereof] had come unto them. But as for him who denies the truth of God's messages - behold, God is swift in reckoning! Thus, [O Prophet,] if they argue with thee, say, "I have surrendered my whole being unto God, and [so have] all who follow me!" - and ask those who have been vouchsafed revelation aforetime, as well as all unlettered people, "Have you [too] surrendered yourselves unto Him?" And if they surrender themselves unto Him, they are on the right path; but if they turn away - behold, thy duty is no more than to deliver the message: for God sees all that is in [the hearts of] His creatures. Verily, as for those who deny the truth of God's messages, and slay the prophets against all right, and slay people who enjoin equity - announce unto them a grievous chastisement. It is they whose works shall come to nought both in this world and in the life to come; and they shall have none to succour them. (19-22 / Translated by Muhammad Asad).. Salam (Peace) -----------

As an Indian, I'm pleasantly surprised after watching the video. To be honest I was expecting a lot more venom for India given the latest 2020 border crisis and the undercurrent of disputes we've had over the past few decades. But I was positively bowled over by their reasons for not liking India, they're all valid points. 1. Sanitation and hygiene. It's not an uncommon site to see people riding expensive cars just nonchalantly dumping garbage on highways. It only goes to show just how little do we care about our country in that regard. In 2014, when PM Modi came to power, 67 years after independence, he had to initiate the "Clean India campaign". That was the state of affairs. Even after 67 years of Independence. We definitely need to work on inculcating civic sense into our countrymen. 2. Women's safety. Another problem correctly pointed out by my Chinese friends. Many people including some leaders have in the past made some very idiotic comments about how a woman ought to be. Many are still stuck in the patriarchal mindset but slowly things are changing. 3. Caste system A very ugly boil on the face of an ideology that firmly believed in universal brotherhood and live and let live. But things are definitely changing. We've brought about legislative changes and the caste factor is increasingly becoming irrelevant or insignificant, especially in the urban areas. There are some other issues too 1. Corruption 2. Unmotivated beuracracy 3. Appeasement politics (we need to curb the Islamic extremism that is bursting through every town and village, like the Chinese have done with Uyghurs) 4. More focus on research and development 5. Making environment favorable for indigenous businesses to grow. I love India and I hope there is lasting piece between the two most populous and two most ancient civilizations of teh world.

India also has several problems:- 1) Some Indians still like and support China ( even though China recently gave a clean chit to a pakistan based terrorist ). They still support China even though they have expansionism mindset ( government mentality = people mentality ,most of the time ). 2) Indians are trained to be slaves from the very beginning. They are second best at following the herd ( first being Japan ). They dont do their own research and give "free gyan" to others... Many Indians who left India have started to give their own fabricated and biased "gyan" ( for example dhruv rathee ). 3) Politics of India is dogshit. If one party does something genuinely good then other party literally fabricated fake news and spread misinformation ( Yes BJP does it too ). 4) Indians show fake nationalism... If they were really nationalists then we wouldn't have seen so many protests during agnipath scheme . 5) Indians are stupid enough to support Taiwan. Taiwan is "NOT" a friendly nation towards India... Why? They claim territories of India just like China does. They too have expansionism mindset. There are many more. For example freebie politics, etc. Just remember Two rules :- 1) Never trust china. 2) Never forget the 1st rule.

Massive respect to the three people that genuinely were without prejudice even when pushed. I think the best way to break any negative stereotypes is purely by interacting with people from the world over in a respectful manner. It truly is amazing what one can learn. I am very fortunate that my profession allows me to meet people from different countries everyday, and honestly, I never grow tired of learning about new cultures, traditions and customs. We are all fascinating in our own ways just as we are unique, let's not let prejudices get in the way of making friends or furthering ourselves.

Thank you for this video Alex. I appreciate the work you do to bring people together and information to all. I am an American (71 years) who, living in New York City, has had the good fortune to make many friends from Asian countries / regions such as China (also visited multiple times and regions, most recently in 2005) as well as Hong Kong (2003), Japan (Tokyo 2010) India (multiple regions in 1997) South Korea, Taiwan, Philippines, Vietnam (and probably a couple more). We have learned a great deal about each other's cultures and societies. Generally speaking people are just people all over the world. We have more commonalities than differences. Simply stated all we want is to have a roof over our heads, food on our table, decent education for our children and the freedom to worship (or not) as we see fit. A gentleman from a different country once mentioned "its governments that screw things up" for all of us. I know about, understand and accept people's feelings about other countries. We are certainly influenced by our ancestors lives as well as our own experiences. I follow foreign news and other information outlets as they often provide information that domestic sources do not - while understanding that just because something is said, doesn't always make it true, it just makes it said. We need to filter the "noise" in order to arrive at our own conclusions.

Indian here. First of all a very good video. India and China does not share any historical war, animosity or cultural hatred. A bit of border dispute that exists between China and India can be resolved peacefully through discussion. Most educated Indians view China as a tough competitor to win, a brilliant example to follow, a powerful opponent to watch out for. But I have never met any Indian who hates China, Chinese people or Chinese culture. In fact we wonder how these two giant ancient civilization coexist till date, next to each other, influencing each other, without ever fighting any significant war. Regarding some people's dislikes on Indian living condition etc, as expressed in this video, I don't feel offended at all. They are not wrong. We agree we have too many things that require major improvements. There is no denial. We are certainly working on those and maybe someday these very same people will visit India for a beautiful vacation.

For example, I agree with that man that blames the U.S. for getting involved in foreign wars, because (as an American) I honestly don’t think we should be involved policing the world in the first place. The United States is the single worst war criminal and human rights violating regime on earth. Nobody starts more wars and kills more people than the US. The US is also guilty of oppressing the rise of socialism worldwide. Capitalism kills millions every year and the Americans spread lies about socialism to make people believe it's socialism that's evil. Most Americans are unaware of their country's evil and don't want to listen when you tell them the facts - calling it "Russian propaganda" or "Chinese government lies". Americans only learn about the world from American media. China - just like Russia, North Korea, Cuba, Vietnam, Iraq, Afghanistan, Lybia, Yemen, Venezuela, etc. - is a victim of American imperialist aggression and exploitation. The US wants to harm China and American people don't rise up against their government - instead, Americans actually "support the troops". As long as the Americans don't rise up in revolution against their criminal government and military, it is necessary to criticize Americans as individuals and also not do business with them any longer.

The message at the end of the video is also true. People in different countries have misconceptions about other nations, but for China it is exceptionally worse because it is a country that is threatening the hegemony of a world agent which is the west. Since the fall of Soviet Union, the United States' regime leads in every single aspect and take almost unilateral decisions on the future of other nations, always prioritizing its interests. China means a whole new challenge for this situation and the media tends to say bad things about the country of China in the West because of it. Mind you, nobody admitted that they had visited those countries, so they are talking super hypothetically, and thus represent the pure form of prejudice. Many Westerners, as biased and uneducated as they are, have had personal contact with some of the Chinese 'tourists'. And they also, often mindlessly watch the TV, where they observe the unelected, undemocratic Chinese leaders spitting out the venom of chauvinistic hatred. Sure it is often filtered by the media coverage, but I saw the speech of the Chinese president delivered for the 70th anniversary. Scary, worrisome, dangerous, and irresponsible warmongering.

Truth is, Most Americans and Europeans, in short Westerners, have never been to China and never interacted with any Mainland Chinese. Mindlessly watching TV, that is the problem. But you never HEARD nor LISTENED to them. It is quite obvious that you neither speak nor understand Chinese - Mandarin, but just mindlessly repeat media comment about Chinese leaders "spitting out" venom. Suffered a lot of suffering. The invasion of China by the Second World War caused the loss of tens of millions of innocent Chinese people, caused major damage to China, undermined Sun Yat-sen's Three Principles of the People, and indirectly caused the division of China. The current United States does not see China's development. @@iitn8437 bro it doesn’t work like that, for e.g. British looted the world and committed various crimes against humanity But the present people r still enjoying the fruits till today, and the countries that were looted r facing poverty today, not only monetary but also emotionally people have been scared, people look down on people who were looted, they face racism because of the past Present people r like “ I only claim the fruits of my ancestors and not ready to claim the consequences of the crime committed by my ancestors “ Don’t u think it’s hypocritical, they only want to enjoy the good and don’t claim the bad past I hope u get the point

I'm from the USA and I moved to mexico to get away from all the prejudice that is there... The usa is one of the most racist countries in the world and it's so so sad. I'm glad you made this video!
@changhahn2052 жыл бұрын
The US is the most visible with it's racism but not the most racist. Try going anywhere else that you're not the majority race. It's the individual people not the country. What's funny is people see the US as being very racist and criticize it but fail to acknowledge their own ethnocentrism. What other country has as much of a mix then the US? Why? Because they don't allow them to come in the first place. I'm tired of ignorant people slamming the US without knowing what they are talking about. The US is not perfect but it's still the country that has the most number of people wanting to come to, even if they have to deal with the racism.

@@changhahn205 I agree I do.. but to me it's a very racist country and I was born and raised there. Now I am living in mexico with my husband and son because president trump was causing horrible horrible things to happen. Plus I don't think the USA should have even let such a racist, horrible, and foul mouthed man become the president and the sad thing is a lot of americans loved him. He would hurt people and talk about them to the media how does he have the right to do such a thing.? Isn't the president supposed to be an example for the USA?? And I am not racist although most of my family are. My only two sons are both mixed with american and hispanic and my husband is hispanic and we have been together for 17 beautiful years. Of course India's GDP is high. There's more Indians than anyone else in the world. A high GDP doesn't mean that much. GDP per capita is more important. That's around $1900. Not especially impressive. It could be worse. But it's lower than every European country, every country in South America (including Venezuela), and every country in North America besides Haiti. Those are all 2020 figures which are the most up to date confirmed figures. It is projected India may be somewhere between 2100 and 2200 this year.

I lived and traveled in China for more than a year. It was completely different than the mysterious and terrible place that the US and UK media portray. Instead, I found that, socially, Chinese people and American people have much in common--we are a little loud and laugh easily. We like to work hard and party hard. We love our countries and people. I say we have all our leaders meet in Africa somewhere for six months, and while they are gone we all have a HUGE Chinese/American beer party, with baiju and sour mash whisky on the side, while our leaders do important things .....somewhere else..

Yakusuni shrine is the shrine for the Japanese troops who died in the Second World War, many Chinese people have bitter feelings about those soldiers who committed such atrocities in China between 1937 and 1945. It could be an analogy that the Yakusuni shrine is like the site of the Nuremberg Rallies in Nazi Germany is to some Jewish people.
