Italy and Spain are by far the most widely named in those series. I can relate to that, especially Spain. A very livable country. Everything there is just welcoming: the people, the climate, prices ... And very animal friendly too. People just walk around in busy city center with three loose big dogs and everything works. Nobody complains about dogs walking without the lease. I like that. So it is a livable country for all, not just people. Cant wait to visit it again.

Honestly, the Latin countries like Italy and Spain and France (and sometimes Portugal and Brazil 🇧🇷 and Mexico and the other Latin American countries) are only named in videos a lot because those are the only countries most ppl from Europe are familiar with, so they come to mind immediately when they have to give an answer fast, and this is because they are included in movies and videos a lot, and also because most ppl don’t know most countries or don’t know a lot about most countries and they usually only know a few surrounding countries and some of the most known countries that are included in most videos and movies, and sometimes they name the countries they’ve been to, so their answers are usually very subjective and don’t really reflect which are the countries that are truly the best! But, in truth, they are so overrated, because they are 2nd world lands (aka developing lands that aren’t developed yet) and the architecture and art there is just okay tho it’s not something amazing, while all the Nordic / Germanic countries are 1st world lands and are by far the best and prettiest and greenest and cleanest and safest lands with the prettiest languages ever created and the best music and art and mythology and poems and stories and lyrics etc and the freshest air and the best architecture designs with the prettiest buildings that look so modern and so cool and so unique and the cutest houses etc, so if one knew all lands and wanted to be objective, one would name the Nordic lands and other Germanic lands, especially Iceland / Norway / Faroes / Denmark / Netherlands etc which are the absolute best of the best in almost every way, despite the 🧊 cold winters, and, the Latin lands are not even close to being the best, even though they are nice enough to visit multiple times and to live there for a while, and the languages are pretty, but not some of the prettiest, and they seem quite clean for the most part, though not as clean as the Norse / Germanic lands! However, most of the ppl there try to touch and hug one and aren’t educated on having consideration about one’s personal space, which isn’t right (there should be a distance between all ppl at all times and no trying to touch strangers or anyone else etc, anyway) and which makes one feel very uncomfortable and is very awkward, that can also make one try to run away, and that would also be a very awkward situation created by ppl that try to touch others, so they are very annoying, and, there’s a huge difference between being welcoming and considerate by talking in a nice way with someone and being annoying by trying to touch or hug etc someone, while ppl in Norse / Germanic lands are usually way more educated and a bit more aware in certain ways, so they don’t usually try to touch or hug strangers randomly, only very rarely does it occur, but in Latin countries most ppl try to touch strangers and will try to make small talk even when one isn’t in the mood for that, and, the buildings don’t look very good there, like, many of them are okay, I guess, but, they are definitely not some of the prettiest buildings and houses, plus they are only dog / cat friendly, not animal friendly, because they aren’t living vegan either, and chickens and birds and fishes and butterflies and turkeys and bees and all others are also animals, so if a country isn’t vegan it isn’t animal friendly technically, so no country is truly animal friendly yet, unfortunately, but all should be vegan, and all should know English fluently, like, it’s the 21st century 😂 lol, but, they should also learn the other prettiest languages ever Norse / Icelandic / Dutch / Norwegian / Gothic / Faroese / Danish / Welsh / Breton / Cornish / Forn Svenska etc 2gether with English because they are also heavenly and way too pretty not to know, just like English, so I highly recommend learning them all, any also any of the other pretty languages, because, the more pretty languages one knows, the better!

Iceland is one of the top five lands that are objectively the best ever (Iceland / Norway / Faroes / Netherlands / Denmark) and I am advanced level in the heavenly languages Icelandic and Norwegian and upper intermediate level in Norse and writer level in English and upper advanced level in Dutch and mid beginner level in Faroese and Danish and Gothic etc, and am actually learning many languages at the moment, having over 50 target languages, and every time someone names Iceland or Icelandic I feel this joy inside - but all other Norse / Germanic lands are also among the best and the most advanced etc, as they are very similar to Iceland / Norway etc in most ways, but these top 5 Nordic countries are also the safest and the most peaceful with the freshest air ever, so that’s why they are a bit better than all other Germanic countries, but anyways, living in any of the Nordic / Germanic lands is a true privilege and a real joy!

We are two brother nations. Our cultures are practically identical. Our languages so similar they might as well be called different accents. Our history has been intertwined since the beginning and I hope I don't sound to egotistical when saying that I think in large parts Faroe islanders look up to Iceland. Seeing it as a symbol of what they want to become. A tiny island country that successfully broke away from Denmark and against all odds was better off for it.

Faroe Islands and Iceland should just get it over with and form a joint country together. We could call it Eyjasambandið (the Island Union) or something. Our cultures are practically identical our languages so similar they might as well be called extreme dialects and our history is intertwined. A union between the two countries would unite our exclusive economic zones making us a huge Ocean powerhouse combining some of the richest fishing grounds in the world. (Not to mention that oil is a likely resource in both countries). Faroe Islands is a tiny country that frankly doesn't have to much space left for growth and Iceland is a huge country that desperately needs more people. So Faroese people would benefit from the rapidly growing Icelandic economy and Icelanders would gain people that integrate well within their society. Together we would have a combined population of around 400.000 people and Faroe Islands would be the county's second-most populous and second richest region. Making it represent around 1/8th of the population and a 1/9th of the economy making them a powerful part of the country that would be impossible for politicians to ignore. Both countries could benefit in a linguistic sense as both languages have very few speakers. Both countries could drop the Danish lessons in their schools and replace them with Icelandic and Faroese respectively. Giving Faroese 350.000 more speakers and Icelandic 50.000 more speakers. our economies are very similar and are already somewhat intertwined as a large number of Icelandic companies already operate on the Faroe Islands and we share part of our fishing quotas with each other. so integrating both economies together should not be a huge difficulty. A union with Iceland would also levitate many of the fears Faroe islanders have facing independence, such as foreign influences in their country and economic instability. as far as i can tell it's a match made in heaven.

What do you mean???....all right, i get it...you mean to say the Faroe should change Denmark for Iceland....well, here a Saffa livin' in Australia....if you really love the Faroe do help them to be independient, let'em run their own country and give'em all they need to get by...They struggle to do their best...and the whole world is in debt with the Faroe because they suffered bullyin' from the rest of the world....y'all know what I mean, no exlanation needed.....they don't want to be a province of Iceland, they want to be independent, they are workin' hard to approach Europe...let's give'em a chance they deserve and let'em give us a chance to know their prettiest country....

Odinn...I just clicked on the bell just to know you have replied to my comment, but for such or such a reason i cannot see your reply anywhere, i just can read the first lines where the little bell. I guess it will appear in my tray sooner or later. Nonetheless i could reply to what i have read from you, which isn't really much. I said the world's in debt with the Faroe referrin' to that issue comin' to everyone's mind whenever Faroe Islands are named, the Grind. I'm referrin' to those barbarian callin' the Faroese "murderers" or "killers". Anytime i say I'd love to visit the Faroe because i find their dwellers so charmin' and I feel the need of breathin' the air of that eerie and mystical country to heal my soul, people would say "really???...they murder whales in the Faroe, they're Barbarians" ...And that's why I stated the world's in debt with the Faroe, because the world's been bullyin' The Faroe for years. Bullyin is just a way to avoid facin' what we have inside. The world's been unfair with the Faroese humiliatin' and insultin' that warm, charmin' and naive people. And i got to see an Icelandic assertin' the Faroe should be Icelandic after watchin' them in a video sayin' they want to be independent rulin' their own country...and well, I'm up with them, they want to be indepenient. They don't want to have their capital in Reykjavik, they don't want to be the little province of Iceland, as a forgoten land out of the mainland. they don't want to be ruled by Iceland...I know not much about Icelandic, but i know you are very proud about your nation, as much prod that it seems sick. i grew out in South Africa, i know much about mind sickness. I also know you are racist against the southern europe countries. I once heard a Spaniard talkin' about his Icelandic experience in a bar with a couple of mates, bein' kicked out by a very fit islandic mate who was screamin' "get out of my sacred land, I'm blue eyed". I ain't blue eyed and i have a Greek surname in my passport (sorry about that) and I know i mustn't trip your Viking land (by the way, I heard a Norwegian who'd studied for years the Scandinavian history sayin' Hollywood invented the myth of the Vikings as a dreadful legion of warriors in his thirst of blood). I'm brown eyed with a Greek surname, so I know where i have NOT to go. Leave the Faroese dealin' with their issues, if you want an UNION you can join de Norska Crown and be ruled from Oslo. I'm with the faroese, if Iceland wants to help them in their purpose, do help them...for free...You know what I mean, don't you????....for free...

@@οτρόποςπουείμαι Okay first of all I never asserted that Faroe islands should be part of Iceland I said that I would like us to form a new country together much like how Scotland is not part of England but they're both part of the united kingdom. and I am honestly shocked that you'd think so little of Icelanders. You seem to have a terribly thwarted view of Icelanders based on one terrible indiuvidual. when in reality Icelanders are among some of the least racist and most accepting people in the world. Around 15% of the Icelandic population is made up from immigrants and that number is rising every single year. Tourism is our biggest industry and if it weren't for covid er would be on average outnumbered 3 to 1 by a tourist population and we are known all over the world for being incredibly quick to accept people into our families. Iceland also happens to have the highest percentage of foster and adoptive parents in the world and Icelandic families take in kids to their homes from all around the world, in fact I had a german foster sister in my teen years. I also don't know why anyone would think we dislike southern Europeans we love em. a large chunk of Icelanders now live in Spain and it's one of our go to tourist destinations. So no I dont think your view of Icelanders is entirely fair. Hell we only have one political party that's anti immigration and they didn't even get one seat in the parliment last election and got under 1% of the votes. And for the record I'm green/brownish eyed and Icelanders are far from all being blue eyed and I've never heard of any icelander having a proplem with the Greeks. so I'm guessing that man was just a deranged drunkard. I don't see how the Vikings are in anyway relevant we have over a 1000 years of history and the vikings only represent a tiny part of it. But it is worth noting that yes the bloodthirsty barbarian is a myth. In fact Icelanders take pride mostly in their ancient viking republic, whose crowning achievements were its laws and ability to prevent bloodshed with compromises. One of our most famous sagas is Njáls saga which is one of the greatest works of anti war and anti vengeance stories in history. Even if that were the case and they were all bloodthirsty warriors you won't find many supporters in Iceland as we are very firmly anti war and we don't even have our own military. Now back to the Faroe islanders I understand that you are probably unfamiliar with the relationship between Faroe islands and Iceland which is understandable considering you are south African and are probably not all to familiar with a topic so far away. Which is perfectly normal I wouldn't claim to know the single thing about the relationship between the Zulus and the Afrikaans. So let me explain a bit more. Faroe Islands and Iceland have always been brothers and each others main supporters. We were both settled by people who fled the Harsh rule of king Harald fairhar of Norway. We both formed our own Independent republics and we would both eventually swear fealty to Norway (Faroe islands in the 11th century and Iceland in the 13th) Both of us would come to regret that decision as we would both suffer at the hands of both Norwegians and later the Danes. We both fought for our independence in the 19th and 20th century and we both supported each other movements. For an example When Denmark tried to outlaw the Icelandic flag the Faroese tore down the Danish flag in their Capitol and proudly displayed theirs in support of Iceland. Iceland would eventually gain their independence in the 1940's and Faroe Islands would not. Only about half the population supported it and does so today. Meanwhile 98% of the Icelandic population did. But even after independence we remain each other greatest supporters Faroe islands greatly look up to their brother Iceland and base much of their independence movement on the success of Iceland and they seek to model their country after ours. When Iceland started to fight over their ocean boarders and set up their own fishing quota system Faroe islands did the same and the two countries agreed to share quota in each others countries and many Faroese fishermen fish in Icelandic waters and have close relations with Icelanders. Faroe islands is not part of the EU and grant Visa free travel to very few nations but they do so to Icelanders and even when they closed their boarders from the rest of the world due to covid they remained open to Icelanders and vice versa. In Icelands greatest time of need during our 2008 financial crisis Faroe Islands was the first country to step up and offer aid. Its its interesting that you mention whale hunting as we to hunt whale and are frequently bullied for it as well and we have supported each other in this struggle as well. To put it simply we love each other and Iceland would do just about anything for Faroe islands if only they would ask. Icelanders remain to this day among the greatest supporters of Faroese independence you could even argue we support it more than the avrage Faroe islander and if it came to it Iceland would do everything it can to support it. Our cultures are so similar their almost identical and so are our languages anyone who travels to both countries would understand and we have much more in common with each other than we do Scandinavia. Icelanders would never want to unite with Norway and that simply becouse we do not share the same cultural, linguistic and historical ties with Norway as we do with Faroe islands. This idea did not spring out of Nowhere, this is not an example of an Icelander trying to force himself on Faroe Islanders. in fact this isnt even my idea originally as it was first suggested to me by a Faroe islander. In fact I have met many Faroe islanders who are avid supporters of this idea and would prefer this greatly over being ruled by Denmark and this doesn't appear to be a rare sentiment. At the end of the day I will support Faroe islands no matter what but I would like it very much that we could unite as one. The two of us are both insignificant countries with tiny populations but together we would be stronger. Lastly, why don't you let the Faroe islanders stand up for themselves? They are not some baby that needs protecting. if they hate this idea, as many I'm sure do, they can say so themselves and I will happily accept that conclusion. You however do not get to make that choice for them. In a final note the reason you could not see my comment is Becouse I deleted it. I wrote it in a rush and wasn't happy with the outcome.

@@οτρόποςπουείμαι Alright we have a lot to cover so i'll try my best to do it on a point-by-point basis. Your Italian friend by the looks of things found yet another black sheep. It is true that Iceland has been called the world's most equal country and you'll find that women are more or less just as prominent as men in most fields. That being said femenism in Iceland just isn't as crazy as you find in other countries and the gender dynamics feel a lot more normal for most parts. Now while Reykjavik dating culture can be described as being unusually "free" or "liberated" and there is a certain niche group of people that participate in the more care free sex lifestyle. you'll find that by an large most people young or otherwise practice more traditional long-term relationships and eventually end up having kids. And no I don't think any sane rational person would describe openly cheating on your partner and going around kissing other men as being "The Icelandic way" that's just insain. Iceland is a beautiful country though with an amazing culture and history so is Faroe islands and although I can't speak for the overall sadness in peoples eye's, I have no doubt that you will feel adequately pretty here. I can't say if the women here are the prettiest in the world but if they are I'm sure the difference isn't a big one.

@Goggarin19914 жыл бұрын
@@jamiewilson5679 yes it does. And actually a lot of them too. Most villages have their own accent. There's even an accent in my village, in which there are less then 100 people living in.

Faroe island is part of denmark
@idakarolinatoftegaard67644 жыл бұрын
It’s an autonomous region within the Kingdom of Denmark, along with Greenland, and together with Denmark the three countries make up the Danish Kingdom. It is therefore not a part of Denmark itself
@blueheart87863 жыл бұрын
Although Canada still part of the British Commonwealth-a constitutional monarchy that accepts the British monarch as its own, Canada is by most described as its own country. Same goes for the Faroe Islands who in many ways are even more distinguished from their "owner" by having their own unique language

do the Danes understand the Faroese language?
@BeccaFrecca4 жыл бұрын
Nope. As a faroese that is a question I've asked myself and others many times.. I mean, danish is basically our second language, is it not? Kinda unfair, cause it's "forced" upon us in school. I also lived in Denmark for 5 years, and some danish people didn't know we excisted or thought we still lived in caves or freaking hobbit houses, pssh I wish 😅
@mayak99954 жыл бұрын
Danes typically don't even know how to count to ten in Faroese, I've also experienced some very stupid questions specifically from Danes, they imagine we love in caves with no internet. It's kinda crazy considering how close our relationships is supposed to be, yet all the Danes know is we have a bunch of sheep wandering around and that never stops being made into a joke lol.
@henkka81574 жыл бұрын
i have heard that you are trying to minimize "loan words" , for example, computer is ein telda.
@henkka81574 жыл бұрын
this must make it more difficult to understand the Faroese language
@mayak99954 жыл бұрын
@@henkka8157 More like Danes are more accepting of such words, while Faroe Islands, Germany, Norway and several other countries prefer to make their own. It doesn't always work, for example we have a word for smart phone and tablet, but everybody still says smart phone and tablet. These words aren't what makes the language difficult, as it's only in reference to new technologies or concepts, but yes it is difficult for the Danes, but I still know how to count to ten in several difficult languages (not a brag, just pointing out that it's super simple to learn to count to ten and considering this is our sisterland, it's actually very discouraging when almost every, if not every, Faroese person can speak the Danish language fluently). What makes the language difficult for Danes is mainly the pronunciations, especially of the letter R and that we have "gendered speak", still if a Danish person hears me talk on the phone in Faroese, I've always been told they can pick up on some words. It's a Nordic language afterall, the only Nordic language I find inherently difficult, is Finnish.
