Wow! I love the Faroe Islands since I was a young teenager on a 32-foot boat on the coast of Greenland fishing and hunting. I met fishermen from the Faroes there. They were as tough as us and nice. This was 50 years ago. I later named one of my sons after a skipper from Sandøy that I became close to. I always wanted to go but after this video, yes I definitely will!

@@raymondo162 I guess that means you wouldn't be stopping by my house for supper then. Regular fare is venison, raccoon, groundhog, bluegill, catfish, and carp. I just picked wild lettuce, dandelion, chickweed, and henbit for a 16 oz salad, eaten with home canned buffalo fish. I spend $20 a week on groceries. I don't have livestock so I still buy my milk, butter, spices etc. When my 4 children were young at home, I was on the county road killed deer pickup list. Clean it within the hour and you'll be ok. We hit a squirrel on the road one day and it did that energy release similar to a head shot. Sure enough, only the head was damaged and the squirrel was good to eat. My brother and a friend have trouble with groundhogs and raccoons tearing stuff up. They box trap them and I eat them. Pretty sure if I was in the Faroe Islands during the whale season, I'd pull the rope and help out. I'm pretty handy with a knife. Edit:spelling

Im from the Faroe islands. i live in suðuroy, you need to take smyril the big seafari to get there but its really nice there, you should go there its really remote island. and a nice scenery, and at a good day you can see all the islands its a really beautiful scenery. :) nice film and its nice that people know about the Faroe islands and its culture because not everyone knows about us really nice. and we do not have a big covid problem here so that is always nice too know. :)

I am so in awe of people from Denmark who are so educated and speak better English than probably the majority of those from the US.

Anders is Norwegian, and Poul Andrias is from the Faroes (so sort of Danish), but Kaitlin IS actually from the US, just FYI. :)

@@andersandkaitlin Thanks for clarifying. The one thing that puzzled me was the Opah tartare because I did not think you could find Opah near the Faroes, more like a tropical fish. Was everything you ate from the local sea and land? The menu was so incredible.

@@glennmcanally Everything is local, so it must have swum up there somehow.

Oh my god amazing video. I've been waiting for new video for a long time, and as long as I waited I watched the old videos hundreds of times. You do a really great job together. I follow you on Instagram and I keep telling my friends cooks about you and even my mom. I am also a cook and I am from Greece, I would very much like to meet you one day! ❤️👏🏻🍴

Thank you so much! That means a lot to us - both the kind words and that you're watching our videos. We actually have an online food community now where we talk daily with our members, do virtual meet-ups, and more. Once the world is open again, we will do in-person meet-ups as well.
