@@electronicsNmore I wonder what the actual usable shelf life is, since in this use case the real cost is having to bother changing them out, and some people would be concerned about the ecological impact of more frequent disposal of batteries.
@electronicsNmore

@Power Max I would only use them in devices used regularly, not infrequently used. As for the environment, I'm not sure if zinc-manganese is better for the environment or worst than zinc-chloride, but you're correct, more batteries will be used.

I listened to your 9 volt battery test between Duracell and Energizer. Later on I find this video of yours. So going by your graphs you are showing at the end of both videos, am I to understand that these Dollar Tree batteries actually lasted longer then the name brands? Or am I confused???

Thank you for this excellent video. Just FYI: A used Sunbeam 9V measuring at 9.01V will operate our bathroom scale with bright red LED display, but two new e-circuit batteries measuring 9.3 and 9.5 V both only give the low battery display "bAtt". Would this be a function of the batteries' different internal resistances? i just noticed the battery cover specifically says "Alkaline 9V". Thanks again.

I appreciated the test very much - I wish you would have included baseline comparisons with regular brands so that we could compare results (or at least pointed to a video of them). Comparing them against each other is one thing, but usually people in the end will want to compare them to a name brand.

Can you do a video on the Kodak carbon-zinc batteries? According to the data sheet, at least for the D size, they have 8000mah (which is typical for a high quality CZ D battery, not the junk being sold today from the dollar stores and panasonic). I can get them in a pack of 2 for just over a buck. That's a great deal. But I haven't tried any of the other sizes.
@electronicsNmore
@electronicsNmore 4 жыл бұрын
Seems very high that rating. Let's see how this video does first. The lack of views on a video like this, and my other 2 alkaline battery testing videos isn't good. I cannot keep spending hours and hours making videos to get 2-3K views, meanwhile there are other YT channels uploading trash or stupidity that's unhelpful to others, and they get 10-100x the views. It's illogical. Thanks for watching!
@tarstarkusz

@@electronicsNmore According to Wikipedia, 8k was typical for a carbon-zinc D cell. We live in an era where the CZ cells are dirt cheap and relegated to dollar stores. But there was a time when a lot more of these were sold and they were made to the best specs that a CZ cell can be made and were more expensive.

Of course alkaline batteries are better, but many people buy the super heavy duty type sold at thousands of dollar stores. After watching my video, they'll know which is the better choice for the money. If a store sells a 9v Energizer or Duracell for $3.50 or more, and you plan on using the batteries, then 2 bucks for (4) e-circuit batteries is a very good alternative if you don't mind swapping out the batteries. @@electronicsNmore not to mention, some items Alkaline batteries fry devices whereas Super Heavy Duty they work better for. I noticed some videos of like those china toys, folks put Alkaline batteries in them like Duracell or Energizer. Next thing you know, they get FRIED.
