Excavator is great regardless of builds because of the mining buff

I'm currently using the Union PA. Poison clouds do not affect it and it has increased carry weight. Union makes Daily Op's and mutated events a lot easier.

with Electric absorption, the energy damage heals, regardless of the armor...

Very correct which means almost any power amor is good just depends on your perks.

T-65 is nice, but Hellcat + Elect Absorb... so much mitigation, which is better than armor rating. And if there's poison around, Union and be invulnerable to it. Either playstyle or situational, Hellcat or Union.

@t7-chaingun That's do-able too. But if a set has an inherent bonus, it frees up that Leg Perk slot for other things, like 5 SPECIAL to add more utility perks, etc.

I started with three of them... for several uses... for high damage mutated enemies like in Daily Ops I used the Hellcat, for missions with toxic clouds I used the Union power armor and for the rest I would use the T65. Now, I am using only the T65 and Union.

Hellcat can literally have everything union can (funky duds and calibrated shocks)as well as adding 12% damage reduction which can be combined with other damage reduction mods and perks

Great video, though the results are not terribly surprising. Only one type of damage was tested (energy), and the number of hits required to die in each power armor set corresponded to its relative energy resistance. T-65 took 14 hits and has 580 ER, Hellcat took 13 hits and has 430 ER, and Union took 12 hits and has 405 ER. Each has their strengths and weaknesses. For example, while Union appeared to be the weakest of the bunch here, it has unique benefits the others do not. One must consider what would be best for their general needs.

I know they are like the top 3 but what’s below that? Eg 4,5,6? Cause right now I’m collecting power armor- 45, 51,60 and X01 Currently X01 is the only one I have with jet pack cause I found the mod for it basically for free

I think is the Strangler Heart PA. It has acid damage to nearby enemies when you atk.

I'd half to say t60 and escavators. My escavator has full heaters. And can afk about anything. I have hellcat but no mods and my escavators is still better atm. By a mile. Need over heaters for my hellcat.

I run the hellcat but I'm debating running the union so i can replace funky duds with follow through. Keep most my tanky build but boost that dps that much more

Hellcat by itself doesnt look too awesome (heavy focus on tanking ballistic damage, as its energy reduction is on the lower end for power armor)... bu t then you realise thats a hole that can be very handlity plugged with elec absorb. that makes the T65 not as good, as the damage reduction of hellcat combines with elec absorb is sufficient while it is also better at tanking physical damage (though apparenlty some explosive weapons ignore that extra resists, though these are few and you can perk against explosives). its only real competition are the strangleheart (not as tanky but the only armor with an offensive bonus making it the best for people that consider the defense of power armor to be more than enough), and Union with its unique poison resist (and the welcome bonus to carry weight)

Just use hellcat with elec absorption. Energy attacks won’t bother you. That free ballistic reduction is too good. Especially with overeaters

Meh.....depends on what you using your armour for, carry weight, radiation protection, or ballistic/energy protection. I use SS lifesaving full health build and vampire Gauss shotgun, (620 damage) can tank anything in the game. Funky duds, radiation protection is Chinese stealth armour. Carry weight is 330 full, 232 empty. Imma happy 👍🍻

pretty sure theres a glitch with the union power armor that makes you immune to poison cloud effects. I dont know if its been patched tho

Not a glitch,it has buildt in poison resist equal to the legendary perk funky duds at lvl3 and lvl2 funky duds make you immune to all poison effects that this game has.

T65 is best overall as 80% content that puts you down is not poison, with emergency protocol T65 is still unbeatable and for poison funky duds aint really needed for full health build. For bloodied yes but T65 with funky duds is still far better than union with one extra legendary perk slot, if a t65 with funky duds and union with 5 legendary perk points try to compete T65 still wins hands down because T65 with funky duds is unkillable unless you go afk.
